Elvis did a # of decent films.Unfortunately, bec. almost all were psuedo-musicals(live action narratives that shoehorned unnatural musical interludes into the stories)even his "good" movies had a certain goofy quality.Putting that aside, however, "Follow that Dream" and "Kid Gallahad" were pretty well done, entertaining and told a nice story. Arthur O'Connell had a nice turn in the former, Charles Bronson and Gig Young in the latter. Elvis persuasively flexed his acting chops in both, as well.
A pioneer family having fun....nothing at all wrong with that and I suppose in them days buildings weren't perfect and probably did have a leak...lol. I loved it...thanks, and the color is great.
I too, first heard this on The Outsiders recently, and have always loved this film, i saw it on Love me Tender but i couldn't remember it 'til the Outsiders played it! amazing, thanks so much! :)
God I love this movie. It was Elvis' best film by far and showed that he had real acting talent. Also he didn't hog the spotlight. It was his only film where he didn't get top billing, but he didn't mind at all and let Robert Egan be the proper star.
i heard this song in the outsiders from the 80's when the movie came out. i searched all over the internet for this song. and i found this clip. thank you young man. for bringing back old memories :)

Reminds me a lot of Eddie Cochran's "Cotton Picker", Eddie's song is the better, but this is pretty darn good too!
