And yes, they eventually lost to bankruptcy because their economic model was unsustainable. This hostility existed before nukes were even invented. Why do you think Stalin supplied Hitler's war against Britain before the Germans attacked him? Nukes only served to keep the Cold War from becoming a real war and for that, we should be eternally thankful.

@AzyrenIshida It wasn't the US looking for war, it was the Soviets. Look at all the countries the Soviets invaded and annexed in the 1940s. Look at how they tried to take West Berlin and encouraged the North Koreans to invade the South. There's a reason former Soviet countries are extremely anti-Communist and wary of the Russians. The Russian mindset since the 1700s has been to expand by force. Communism gave them an ideological purpose for that expansion. This is what caused the Cold War.
