@c20xe Vtec issent even better. Dont forget, the Hondas have much less wight! put the VTEC in a CALI, you will see. and compere accelation videos. There not much diffrenet between INtergras and calibras. And; INtegras have other gears and,the HONDA have more HP...a better compare is the 204 hp cali.

I have to be honest the Calibra has always been a chav motor as far as i'm concerned, they always look a bit cheap and nasty, but this one looks really nice and stylish. Seems to be fast as well. Very nice car.
totaly disagree i had a calibra turbo for 5 years and great quality car the engine is bullut proof and very quality built car they cost nearly 25k when new why would you say looks cheap and nasty when its the opposite.
you obviously havent driven one, both cars stock the calibra wins all the time check the performance figures out the integra type r buffs at 145 cally goes on to nearly 160mph
the honda intergra has a nasty plasticy dash the calibra beats it hands down

I've driven hundreds of them and I used to work for a Vauxhall main dealer :) Yes I agree the engines are very good but they are not quality built cars as you say. They are a Cavalier with a Coupe shell! They are mechanically weak and rust into literally nothing. How many Calibra's are on the road compared to say VW's of the same year?

Well it's not opinon that they structurally rust because they do even if yours didn't. I actually liked the look of them when they came out but over the years nearly every one looked tired or boy raced. So maybe it's more to do with that than the actual car itself.

well laddie a type r integra(as u can see it) would beat all calibras but the c20let. I had two c20let and I gotta tell u a type r does stand a chance as far as140-150km/h but then has no chance whatsoever.I even had a race with a dc5 type r on a motorway and it couldnt keep up over 160km/h.
That has to be a 4x4 turbo calibra as a standard Calibra turbo is 148.64bhp per tonne and a standard DC2 is 172.57 per tonne, the 2.0 and 2,5 N/A calibras are only 125.13 and 127.39 per tonne so they wouldnt get close,
i 've got the confirmation of this calibra driver..the integra was not stock and the calibra had about 180 hp..now the calibra driver drives a honda crx ee8 vtec ;)
and in the first part of video is told: integra starts in 3rd gear, calibra in 2nd..in the second part the both start in the 2nd and there you can see the difference..i think that the calibra has about 170-180 HP..never stock...because:
Calibra: 2.0 16V 1998 cm³ C20XE 110 kW 150HP 196 Nm 8,5 s (0-100 km/h) 223 km/h (topspeed)
Integra: B18C6 1.797 cm³ 140kW 190 HP 178 Nm 6,7 s (0-100km/h) 233 km/h (topspeed)

the dc2 is brutal for a 4cyl but before the vtec kicks in, its swift in traffic and all but i found it to be a little lacking in power.
the xe on the other hand has power and torque through the whole rev range which is great! with tuning and no need for v-tec the xe is one serious condender...
i wanted a an ITR too, wanted a DC2 with the Japanese front end (square head lamps), but this wasn't available over here and i would have to swap the whole front end :(

There's no any wikipedia, I doesn't said that C20XE-LN can't revs to 8500, I'm say that you can't without any other mods except turbo up your revs. This engine reving 8500 with all new parts in engine except cast iron block...and this engine doesn't use the turbo..that's good...because it in some versions with 690cc or 730cc injectors can produce 260N/A to 290N/A hp. With turbo this engine reving still 8500 maybe little more to 8700 but NOW power can be 320, 350, even 400hp easily.
LET engine can't revs 8500 because it turbo on it...learn more...turbo CANNOT up your revs...it's whole new valvetrain, camshafts and many other things about head block...and after that you can go @8500rpms...turbo only helps at low rpm to get high power at start...not top revs.

I have to be honest the Calibra has always been a chav motor as far as i'm concerned, they always look a bit cheap and nasty, but this one looks really nice and stylish. Seems to be fast as well. Very nice car.

totaly disagree i had a calibra turbo for 5 years and great quality car the engine is bullut proof and very quality built car they cost nearly 25k when new why would you say looks cheap and nasty when its the opposite.
you obviously havent driven one, both cars stock the calibra wins all the time check the performance figures out the integra type r buffs at 145 cally goes on to nearly 160mph
the honda intergra has a nasty plasticy dash the calibra beats it hands down

I've driven hundreds of them and I used to work for a Vauxhall main dealer :) Yes I agree the engines are very good but they are not quality built cars as you say. They are a Cavalier with a Coupe shell! They are mechanically weak and rust into literally nothing. How many Calibra's are on the road compared to say VW's of the same year?

Well it's not opinon that they structurally rust because they do even if yours didn't. I actually liked the look of them when they came out but over the years nearly every one looked tired or boy raced. So maybe it's more to do with that than the actual car itself.
I tell you what, if you admit they are rust buckets I will admit that my chav comment was a litle unfair. What do you reckon, deal or no deal? :)

well laddie a type r integra(as u can see it) would beat all calibras but the c20let. I had two c20let and I gotta tell u a type r does stand a chance as far as140-150km/h but then has no chance whatsoever.I even had a race with a dc5 type r on a motorway and it couldnt keep up over 160km/h.

That has to be a 4x4 turbo calibra as a standard Calibra turbo is 148.64bhp per tonne and a standard DC2 is 172.57 per tonne, the 2.0 and 2,5 N/A calibras are only 125.13 and 127.39 per tonne so they wouldnt get close,

i 've got the confirmation of this calibra driver..the integra was not stock and the calibra had about 180 hp..now the calibra driver drives a honda crx ee8 vtec ;)

and in the first part of video is told: integra starts in 3rd gear, calibra in 2nd..in the second part the both start in the 2nd and there you can see the difference..i think that the calibra has about 170-180 HP..never stock...because:
Calibra: 2.0 16V 1998 cm³ C20XE 110 kW 150HP 196 Nm 8,5 s (0-100 km/h) 223 km/h (topspeed)
Integra: B18C6 1.797 cm³ 140kW 190 HP 178 Nm 6,7 s (0-100km/h) 233 km/h (topspeed)

Mainly because there are calibra's who have a 2.5 V6. Also GM build the Calibra with 2.0 Turbo 16v AND AWD that would explain something

You need a lot of N/A modifications or a Turbo on the Calibra to win against the Integra. A race against a Calibra Turbo (204 HP) would be interesting.

i have a feeling that the calibra in this vid is slightly tuned but who knows the dc2 might of been a little tuned aswell? nevertheless good job at the cali for keeping close to the dc2.
i will admit tho that the handling of the car is not good, the type r seems to be a very good package when it comes to handling,(i've read one of the best fwd in the world)
never the less i'm all for the c20xe, its old technology but it proves how well it works for such a thing of its age!

first of all u noobs, its NOT THE TURBO ONE!! at the beginning you can see it says xe which is short for c20xe which is the motor code.
i have a calibra and love it
i have been in a dc2
the dc2 is brutal for a 4cyl but before the vtec kicks in, its swift in traffic and all but i found it to be a little lacking in power.
the xe on the other hand has power and torque through the whole rev range which is great! with tuning and no need for v-tec the xe is one serious condender...

i wanted a an ITR too, wanted a DC2 with the Japanese front end (square head lamps), but this wasn't available over here and i would have to swap the whole front end :(

You can import one over here though, but costs too way much due to the tax system we have. (e.g. if you buy the car 8000euros, you will end up to a total of 35000-40000euros)

No,i don't think that's 4cyls just Honda, I know that, you are obviously meh.eng...and you must know that Honda have best non-turbo sistems in world...but there's many 4 cyl engines who revs 9000 and 10000...I like N/A engines because it shows real engineering and many new ideas. Turbo can put on engine any moron on this world. I appreciate you because I still studing mechanical faculty...don't be angy on me...I just learn every day something new and reading many books..because i need that.

NA is very interesting but small engines are more suitable for turbo applications and i don't mean "light" turbo set ups.
Less moving parts mean MORE power & more reliability.

These guys work on 10.000rpm C20XEs (stock block)
Chevrolet Lacetti STW & Opel Vectra B BTCC/STW are some of the successful examples.
Other than that i know many C20XE's revving close to 8500-8700 without any kind of problems.
Caterham & Westfield cars revs them EVERY DAY!
I wonder if you ever heard of the Opel tuners i mentioned.

There's no any wikipedia, I doesn't said that C20XE-LN can't revs to 8500, I'm say that you can't without any other mods except turbo up your revs. This engine reving 8500 with all new parts in engine except cast iron block...and this engine doesn't use the turbo..that's good...because it in some versions with 690cc or 730cc injectors can produce 260N/A to 290N/A hp. With turbo this engine reving still 8500 maybe little more to 8700 but NOW power can be 320, 350, even 400hp easily.

LET engine can't revs 8500 because it turbo on it...learn more...turbo CANNOT up your revs...it's whole new valvetrain, camshafts and many other things about head block...and after that you can go @8500rpms...turbo only helps at low rpm to get high power at start...not top revs.

I'm a mechanical engineer, and turbochargers put too much pressure on the engine to withstand high revving as well.
A SERIOUS turbo'ed engine works at mid-high range rpms. Who tells you this shit? :/
