  • Transcendent performance.

  • one dislike? whoever that one person is is a dick

  • hahahahaha yes! thank you!

  • This was the preformance that made me change my mind about rap. Before this I always said rap was boring because of the lack of real instruments & musicians, after the LL Cool J MTV Unplugged I knew rap could be cool

  • this was dope i remember this like yesterday and at least he had on deodorant i know some of yall woulda been smellin stank on stage!

  • He should have used clean and clear deodarent....he looks like he has armpit boogers

  • This is THE BEST THING that ever aired on MTV. EVER. PERIOD.!

  • @boomhoo98 There are two greatest moments...this one and Neil Young and Pearl Jam doing Rocking in the Free World at MTV Music Awards in 1994 watch?v=bDzL_WU3mmE

  • Ll cool j is the best. How many ppl can turn a rap song into sucha perfect unpllugged song? Also most rapper wuldnt do this cuz most of the music isnt real including their voices.

  • Nice nod to Otis Redding/Black Crowes in the middle.

  • I remember when this was aired live. I was blown away by this performance. Haven't seen it since then, but I just did a search and found it again here. Wow. Still just as good.

  • i loved this so much. rememeber how LL had chunks of deodorant under his arms?

  • love blacks.

  • How can this only have 31,474 views? Ive watched it ten times today..lol

  • Jay -z is cool, but he couldnt do this. He dont have anything on " L "

  • Classic!

  • @montyler1 who is this drummer? i have been jealous of this guy for 20 years now... this was (and still is) fantastic!!

  • @eddieisadrummer Tal Bergman. An Israeli.

  • 7268 people got knocked out

  • Pure hip hop & rap at it's best. NUFF SAID!!!!!

  • that changed my life. and kudos from brazil, mike tyler

  • he should have said momma said beatudown instead.

  • i have always been a hip hop fan mostly thats all i listen to i must say ll is one hell of an artist to go from hip hop to a rock version of that song he is one of the greats

  • sooo sick

  • I saw it too when it first aired. I must say I am a hip hop fan, but I haven't heard such an electrifying compination of quitars, vocals and hip hop ever since. Every time I hear this version of the song I like it even more.

  • Anyone that dislikes this gets knocked out

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I LUV THIS SONG IT GETS ME PUMPED UP

  • Still a banger..decades later.

  • i remember seeing this as it aired - it really paved the way for rock and hip hop together it also showed that hip hop was a true music form. its rare to see live bands backing up rappers. it really was a grammy winning performance.

  • By the way, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and MC Lyte performed that night! And most people dont even remember that!! LL was in the Zone that night.

  • One of The Greatest Performances in the History of Rap. It's crazy how in sync the band is with LL. It's like they perform together all the time! CLASSIC!

  • This is what rap really should sound like. Not synth.

  • This performace stills rocks 20 years later.

  • awesome...absolutely fantastic version of an incredible song... been looking for this for ages... was it ever released on a retail dvd?

  • Hey arnisback is there any way you can put LL's whole performance together? Someone has the Jingilin Baby but it's a really bad version. If not do u know where we can get the Whole performance from?

  • One of my favorite live performances of all time. Definitely my favorite moment on Unplugged.

  • i think i found my gum! --pointing at his armpits--

  • This is the ultimate version of this song. Look for other live performances on youtube or even the original recording, none of them has the same intensity as this version.

  • COOL REMASTER!

Thx for sharing, a minute ago i was listening the original...it sucked.

  • that band was the truth

  • Thanks for the post ! I'm playing guitar and was the musical director for this 1 Hard to believe this is gonna be 20 next year ! Peace Mike Tyler

  • @montyler1 Man is there higher quality copy of this? I was overseas when this happened and was only recently showed this. un-fucking -believable btw.. this may very will be the best MTV unplugged performance period. Good job you should be very proud

  • @montyler1 REALLY U WERE JAMMIN DUDE... WHAT OTHER BANDS DID U PLAY WITH.. THIS JAM SESSION WAS OFF THE CHAIN!!!!!! TESLA, NIRVANA AND LL WAS THE BEST THREE UNPLUGGED I HAVE SEEN!!!!

  • Too Bad theres No pop's Cool Love On Youtube? He's The Acoustic Guitarist Funky Ass Music Must Check Em Out

  • Most rocking piano performance of all time...

  • One of the guys playing guitar is Mike Tyler.

  • I'm not really as hyped about this clip as you all. Saw it then, and still it's not that great. LL should have sat down with the band to study the Sly and the Family stone groove the song is sampled from and they would have had a killer thang. Not bad though! I like the piano chunk going on in the background..it's more of an Ike's mood thing going on. The guy to LL's left playing acoustic is a guy named Pop, or Suga Pop, a renowned west coast dancer-that's his band Pop's cool love behind them

  • @freqazoidiak you are crazy. This is one of the most original rap performances ever. So what if it is a remake version of a great song. The kinetic energy of the performance is simply stunning. This version is better than the original because of the originality of this interpretation and performance.

  • i want this on cd so bad!

  • I really can't believe this has just ~5k views. A rap classic. I remember catching this when they first showed it and going F**K!! at the energy. Dynamite performance.

  • @chillyspoon -- Damn right. I saw this live on tv as a teenager in Australia. I never forgot how electrifying it was ... twenty years later now I found it.

    Absolutely smokin hot.

  • @withaminutetogo same for me! Saw it when i had 10 years...started to love rap!

  • needs more views

  • Thank you so much for bringing this back to my life!!!

  • Rap is SOOO much better with musicians.

  • this is awesome. thanks for the clearly better sound

  • Dude this is so awesome I want to say the f word!!!
