@neffboy747 I've been on a ride similar called "Top Thrill Dragster", which has the launch like Xcelerator except it's 0-120mph in less than 4 seconds and the height is 420 feet (drop is 400), but the degree of drop is the same. I can tell you that the scariest part of these types of rides is the launch. Just because it's so unexpected. When I went on TTD, I knew what was coming, but no matter what, NOTHING will prepare you for that kind of feeling. As for the drop, it's nothing at all.
One of my favorite coasters. Was at Knott's Berry riding this around 4 weeks ago with some and bumped into some of the Theme Park review guys on this ride. The park was empty, I would say I would be exaggerating if I said there were as many as 100 people in the whole park. There was no line for anything, so they just blasted us off again, and again, and again. The TPR guys managed 18 straight runs, but I came back for more :)
Omg after seeing ur vids i subsribed. I noticed how ur a dedicated top viweed rollercoaster recorder, tryin to give us a personal experience very nice job
@NuklearExplosion Yeah the cable kind of exploded and cut up the people in the front row. It was closed for a few months but it's been open for a while now. I haven't heard anything about them closing it.
@NuklearExplosion Last year the launch cable snapped, severing part of the train and injuring (not fatally though) several riders. The ride was immediately shut down, was inspected, had a new cable and new anti-rollback fins (which prevented the train from colliding with the other train in the station, unlike what just happened with Pony Express) installed, because the older ones were also severely damaged, and the ride reopened early this summer.
