there's a similar species that's called "fool hen" because they are so trusting...

@sunsdomain , any grouse species unaware of man's predatory nature is prone to be a "fool hen". So called "fool hens" are simply ignorant grouse who never learned that humans are dangerous animals. "Fool hens" are usually found in remote areas when people don't usually hunt them, but they can occur anywhere that grouse thrive.

Back in saskatchewan we have tons of theese sharp tailed grouse, it's actually or provincial bird. They are great eating the brest is my most favored. So if you ever want to shoot sharp tailed grouse come to saskatchewan. They love tall grass,trees and shrubs.

Wow, that's amazing. I have a couple of videos of a grouse that walked next to my car and it seemed to show no fear. Maybe they're just naturally tame and trusting.
