A child did lose his pet or rather his pet died, but very little people seemed to cared, and this fiction story right here didn't even had anything that died. Besides, he can always visit his "Daughter" a more appropriate term would be pet. The Childs pet died, you can't visit a dead pet. Get the point?

No he cant. Dashie is in a completely different world at the end, and it's impossible for him to go there. It's sad because he'll never see her again. It's kinda like the movie E.T. but with ponies and a more realistic sense of what happened. instead of "alien shows up and befriends kid for a few weeks" its more like, "a man finds a homeless toddler who looks miserable and takes her in. after years of taking care of her, she's suddenly taken to another world."

I've seen lots of movies like that, one for example with an Ape, name Ceazor, a guy took him in as a baby, but his mother was an ape for testing medicine, she had one called A1-S91 which make the brain Smart and gets rid of illness with no Side effects to apes whatsoever, and it genetically passed to Ceazor, which makes him very smart. At the end, Ceazor can talk and stuff, and chose to live in the forest away from Caretaker.
