The rumours for a remake were shot down again, the developers dont want to work on something and in the end not have something that isnt FFVII. I agree, why change such a pivotal piece of perfection? I play the original twice over each year, since its release, a remake just wouldnt be FFVII

From what I recal in reading a article is that if they did a remake, they would use the battle system that FFVII Crisis Core uses. :( I love the command options and stuff though.
Also, FFX is only getting a HD remaster. It won't take nowhere nearly as long as remaking VII nor will it cost as much. I love FF as much as any of you guys but we've gotta be realistic guys.
If you want a better looking one, just go final fantasy 7 pc . com.

They'd have to start from scratch and make it brand new to make it as good looking as more recent FF games, and, they will need plenty of time to do it. So, even if they do start now or have started recently, it would come out in quite a few years.
Squeenix are doing XIII-2, Finishing up Versus and I think they're remaking the whole of XIV. Where will they find the time to make a whole new VII?
Maybe they're starting a trend for remaking the best selling Final Fantasy's and are working backwards like, right now they're remaking Final Fantasy X and THEN they're going to remake Final Fantasy VII which i REALLY hope they do because it's the best game from my childhood. The best part about it is that they don't even need to change ANYTHING about the game apart from making the characters talk rather than having speech bubbles and improve the graphics to the standard of Final Fantasy XIII :D

I want enhanced HD graphics with the same gameplay, story, and world. I don't want them to change a thing. Even the music needs to stay the same. It only needs be be replayed with actual instruments. I don't want 'remixes" or anything else done to the music. It was perfect.
As long as they leave the leveling, materia, equipment, weapon, and limit systems EXACTLY the same, I'm down. Oh, and the need to do the entire game with the same free roam and camera angles. I basically want the same exact game with enhanced graphics and story. Anyone agree?
They're making a remake of FF X wich, had actually good graphics and a good game play. But why not FF7 wich has bad graphics and AWESOME GAME PLAY & HISTORY ! :/
