  • This guy receives lots of kickbacks from coal and oil interests. He is a mouth-piece for that industry. He is basically a paid lobbyist who happens to be a senator.

    Wake up!

  • Only 4k a year for rent at Guantanamo?

  • If you had listened to the speech, the sources are stated, the logic is sound, and he is not saying do nothing, he is saying dont do this because it is not a real solution.

  • We need $6.7 Trillion dollars to save the World. Makes sense.

Certainly, we would all die if we spent $6.5 Trillion.

Global Warming cultists are fools & sheeple, being led to their slaughter.

Can't wait 'till we get some adults back into office!

  • @jsmappy everybody who believes in this faulty "science" hahahaha(insert joke about gullable non technicall minded fools here) should just commit suicide and save the world .

  • James Inhofe is the most ignorant, corrupt Senator in Washington, even outpacing Joe Wilson. Inhofe pulls all this information on the cost of the bill out of his ass without stating any sources. He also doesn't address the cost of doing nothing on climate change, which will do far more damage to the world, the country, and his state than will preventative action.

Inhofe puts his personal political beliefs ahead of the livelihood of future generations.

  • Thought I would add a remark in response to "exenrontexas". Oklahoma is one of the largest providers of wind and hydroelectric power in the United States. Also, providing clean-burning natural gas is crucial to America's energy infrastructure. California, the number one energy consuming state, has refused to allow energy production within their state. If I were Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas energy companies, I would cut off California.

  • Excellent presentation! Inhofe may be a little extreme on some issues like gay rights, but he is totally right on climate change. As a Meteorology student in Oklahoma, I can agree that the science is inconclusive. Even if there was global warming, cap-and-trade is not the solution.

  • Inclonclusive is not ever the right word. I cooled for almost 40 years from 1940 while C02 was going up, invalidating their theory altogether, which is why they were trying to "Hide the decline." I've seen artic ice from satellites, where yes, there was some from 1979 to 2000 but as much if not more artic ice in Janauary 09 as January 2000. The IPCC even said 20 inches in 100 years is the worst case, while Gore said 20 feet in a few decades, in his movie and $300,000 speeches.

  • Sec Chu, Obama and the gang have no idea how to cut 90% of the carbon. I do. Cap and trade will distort the market to unworthy technology that will go bankrupt when our technology comes on line. Most "investment" in "green" junk will go belly up, just like the housing nonsense. Bailout for big wind (read GE) anybody. How about 100 mpg highway, 200 city for a Camery sized car? Let Entrepreneurs solve this problem. Chu does not have a clue. I will debate him anywhere, anyday...Wake up!

  • I would love to see you debate a Nobel Prize winning scientist you fucking moron.

  • I would love to debate him too.

  • Inhofe is one of the few who is NOT a criminal. Cap and trade will SLOW new technology that will remove 90% of the carbon. Why? Because any system that includes wind and solar must have some capacitance and some carbon when the wind does not blow and the sun does not shine. By using Natural Gas it can be BASE LOAD, which is what coal is. YOU MUST HAVE BASE LOAD ABILITY to remove COAL. This is cheaper than Nuke and coal...WAKE UP people. Let the market do this. Cap and Trade is a crime.

  • Is there any connection to your comment and the fact that the state that Inhofe represents is a oil, natural gas and coal producer and has been for eighty years. What has OK done to solve our energy future problems in those eighty years? Strip mining? CBC comtamination?

Try to remember that the deal that Reagan's Sec. of State cut with the Saudis in the 1980's put a MILLION people out of work in Texas, OK and LA and caused a major regional depression. What loyalty do you owe the GOP?

  • Only an idiot would give their opinion without taking the time to explain why they feel the way they do. THAT'S an idiot.

  • What INHOFE fails to mention is that the largest welfare program by FAR is CORPORATE WELFARE. Hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars are handed out to large corporations in the form of incentives, exemptions, deductions and free services. The SAME large corporations are EXPORTING American jobs overseas and NOT paying taxes. Example: I worked for ENRON who had major operations in OK and it paid NO TAXES AT ALL in the last four out of five years. INHOFE needs to explain WHY he took ENRON MONEY

  • Taxing the public to give money to business IS wrong. NOT taxing business is NOT wrong. The idea that the government should be allowed to manipulate people through "incentives" and "deductions" is ridiculous. It's a horrible sign of our collective ignorance when NOT stealing from certain people is cause for outrage.

  • The Constitution originally provided for only ONE type of tax. CORPORATE tax. The lobbyist have sucessfully flipped that around so that citizens pay the largest burden of direct and indirect taxes. When corporations buy ANYTHING they deduct it from their profits and therefore the taxes they pay. Every DIME they pay in taxes becomes a deduction. If INHOFE fails to explain WHY he took ENRON BLOOD MONEY then he should resign.

Hello to my friends at the (formerly ENRON) plant in Beaver, OK.

  • Well, I don't think the Republican Congress and Senate (speaking of ten years ago) was close AT ALL to ratifying the Kyoto Treaty (in fact, Clinton himself didn't even support it until he was getting ready to leave the White House), it doesn't change the fact that James is essentially right.

Regardless of how one feels about Global Warming, *Cap-and-Trade* is a pointless enterprise. A Twenty-First Century equivalent to mid-evil "Indulgences".
