It's better than the state having a monopoly over industries. WHen various companies provide what we need, they are in competition with each other and so they undercut each other. Capitalism benefits the consumer. Capitalism allows anyone with an idea to try and succeed, and if they fail, at least they tried. They can try again. Capitalism has lasted for 400 years, and it will continue well into the future.
