  • Is there any on the fly adjustment on the foil angle...the ride seems very stable (fore and aft)if not

  • @NigelLoller YEa, the rudder foil can be controlled by rotating the tiller extention, and in the new moths, the main foil is adjusted by turning a wand thing inside the boat :) the new ones use a different system which keeps them at a flat level :)

  • @NigelLoller from what willcobbsail said , in my moth I rotate the tiller extention clockwise and anti-clockwise , adjusting a trim tab on the trailing edge of the rudder foil which then adjusts the height of the flight. generally in the middle is the most stable, flying low is the fastest and flying high is the slowest(from my expierience

  • The foils give substantially more lift than shaped wings ever could. They would only be beneficial in very light winds anyway because once the wind is up the main problem is stopping ventilation and foil break out.

  • that look hard to sail

  • this boat costs about 7g

  • @usa51677 actually arround 16 grand

  • Wow that looks like fun!!

  • Very nice!

How much did the boat cost?

  • @laddar 17000 US dollars

  • I suspect that if you shaped the canvas platform in a classic airplane wing shape that would add lift to the entire aparatus, making it even faster.

  • interesting...

  • the boat is very light, about 30-40kg, nad making wing shape with lift ability maybe isn't worth it since that makes it heavier.
