It's funny how in order to compete with the cartridge based systems, Dreamcast had to explain to the average consumer what that sound was the Dreamcast made when it was loading...so they turned it into a catch phrase. "It's thinking." lol

Sega retired the DC because of finicial hardship, not because of PS2.

Dreamcast did fine until Sony started to mass advertise their "superior" console everywhere, overshadowing the Dreamcast.

PS2 would not did THAT great if it weren't for all of those 3rd party liscenced games. At least SEGA and Nintendo make their own material.

I think that Dreamcast might have made it had it been realeased at a different time - and not 6 months before the PS2. But, it also would have made it had they made it have a DVD player. Yet, I think this was the first console that had the online port. And, I loved what they did with the memory card and being able to export the chao to it to play in Sonic Adventure. ^^

Yes, but their finicial hardships were caused by the PS2 - because people bought the PS2 for it's DVD player. ^.^ They were epecting to have more people buy the console. (I think that was the point I was trying to make 0.0)

This game had allot of flaws and there was too much down time inbetween the stages but it was the last great Sonic game. Sega REALLY has to stop promoting their other creations like the cat in this game for example that are lame and nobody cares about. Just look at Sega Superstar Tennis, a pathetic assortment of characters.

How do you figure I am a sega hater? That is far from the truth. i am a big dreamcast fan. The Treamcast would have given them a method to reach the last fans who would have paid for more dreamcast goodness. They just needed to make the makers pay some fees. Prue profit.

Get a life! You don't even realize what we SEGA fans see is happening to the U.S. video game industry! Software sales are declining and demand for consoles has lowered. Pretty soon all indication are that we are headed for another CRASH! When SEGA re-enters the console market with a 256-bit machine that will re-vitalize the industry we'll see who has the last laugh!!
