More prayer and blessings in our ONE world would please our Lord and the ONE Most HIgh GOD! Can we just thank God for the blessings of each other and our gifts? there is healing in this worship it is just another form of worship , don't put god in a box , God created colors , this is not idolatry it is no different than journalism and praying , some people just are to busy trying to put god in your box it is sad , I have seen this and experienced this worship and it isn't something someone is praying to it is a love painting from the Lord. relational - try it

@ruready2fly4christ I Remember reading about this And I don't think that is the context of those verses. I don't think we should worship the painting, but art can be used to glorify God, Same way we sing, in heaven the angels sing, so in our voices we are replicating what is above also, but if we were singing to something else OTHER than God as worship, that is idolatry.Same as don't worship the painting.But To express yourself to God in painting, is like singing your heart out to him aswell..

Wow, what an example of God's creativity coming through His creation. So sorry that people just don't get i! Lord help us. Do we really have to explain things that must be caught by the Spirit???

We do prophetic art at my Youth I attend too! I wish I had a canvas that big to paint on!

Isaiah 42:8 " I am the LORD; that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to graven images." I'm still tryin to find 'prophetic art' in the new testament; will someone please point to the scriptures where the apostle Paul endorsed it . . . shalom

Besides just serving in a visual capacity, I believe that art can also be used for communication just as the spoken or written word. So just as you can "speak" prophetic words, you can also create "prophetic" art that communicates a message. So how do you define "prophecy"? According to Strong's, the word propheteia's primary use is "not predictive in the sense of foretelling, but interpretive, declaring, or forth-telling, the will or counsel of God."

There are two instances where Paul uses this word propheteia...1 Cor 12:10 when describing gifts of the Spirit, one is prophecy, and in 1 Thess 5:20 when he says to not despise prophecies. When I use the word prophetic art I am referring to something that God has laid on my heart to communicate visually. Sometimes that is simply scripture. Sometimes it is what He is doing in my own life. I am not trying to foretell the future, just communicate God's unboundless love that has set me free!

The reality is that worship is about an expression of what is going on in the inside. I seem to recall David in the OT did some pretty wacky things as acts of worship. So the outward expression can take lots of interesting and unusual forms - dance, art, writing, singing etc. And as we create we think again (maybe in a new way) about our Father in heaven, and reconnect.

less talk .... more worship! i'm glad this discussion is happening, but i'm not sure it's very healthy. look at cvarnes comment .... "WOW! made me cry...PRAISE GOD! I wish my church did this ...maybe I should mention it." that is what it's all about. God inspires the people who love him to express their love in EVERY aspect of their lives. so write Psalms to him, so write music, some make art. this art is inspired .... God created it to be so. God still works in the prophetic today.

wow!!! reminds me of the drug induced state of the 60's that brought out psychedelic art!! the druids were known for their 'prophetic art' . . . would someone please tell me where i can find such art in the bible?? Is it in Acts or one the epistles?? My bible still says God is the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow..and that there is 'nothing new under the sun' . . . was it the apostle Paul who started prophetic art?? Some one here lay some scripture on me to back this stuff up...

So, you could read the last part as, "I have given symbols by the hand." This is nothing new. God will give confirmation in His Word of the validity of messages. Test the spirits and make sure the art lines up totally with the Word.

New King James version. The words in parenthesis are the Hebrew meanings of the words that precede them. Remember that Solomon said, "He who loves a quarrel loves sin." So hold your tongue if you feel like being critical without praying about what to say.

The full definition of the verse would read, "I have given symbols by the hand of the prophets." This is not twisting of Scripture---I am using the definitions in the NKJV that they provide in the center column. And why would you speak to a fellow Christian so hatefully?

Remember that you should not call art prophetic unless you know 100% that God gave you a vision that you can translate into art. Are all prophets? At least for now, unless you are called by Him, wait on the Lord and say it is from your heart unless you KNOW that you KNOW it is from God.

What was part of the iniquity being addressed in Gilead, besides the sacrificing of bulls in Gilgal? The making and worshipping of images!(idolatry) "Surely, they are worthless!!(my emphasis)" .
