You don't need to dig your pinky into the pack to hold a break. just a bit of the flesh is good enough. Don't say that you are no good at tricks unless it is part of the patter. Presentation means a lot. Other then that just keep praticing (even when you think you got it down, keep practicing, I am still working on my doublelifts even thu i do it all the time.)

actually finding a card can amaze anyone. Its all in presentation, If you can't present your trick properly then you won't get a full reaction. I do finding a card tricks all the time and each time it amazes people people I do it in fun and unique. I have even done a quick variation of this method and I was still able to amaze.

Oh, and simple magic does hit hard, I've done it all (gaffs included) and they all work.

I agreed with you that to amaze someone the presentation and the trick needs to be done well. And sometimes simple tricks does hit hard.. but i think when a trick is too simple that even when a person without knowledge of card tricks can figure it out.. the trick is useless.. if u still want to perform this trick.. give it more body by presenting it better or make up a story around it etc. See the this and that trick on youtube.. that trick is simple.. but the story made the trick even better

two suggestions: #1. Practice your false shuffling in a mirror, the angles were terrible. #2. don't do bridge with your shuffle if you can't handle it.

try to let your hands move smoothly and slowly. that way it will be more confusing because pleople dont know when your trying to hide somthing. if you master that you can do it as fast as you like.
