Unfortunately, it happens many times in many different forms. Sending computers, digital cameras and cellphones off for repair, or even lending them to others, without realizing that others can access anything on them. Even 'completely' deleted files can still be accessed with certain software.
This particular case gets a lot of attention because of the celebrities involved, but such cases occur countless times with people less known to the public.
