Regarding the wage cap, I really don't think that would make a huge amount of difference. Players compete in England because of the money they get paid yes, but they also come here to play for the best teams in the world who can compete in the Champions League which is probably the highest honour you can achieve at club level.

Henry is class but he can score goals like that every match because of the terrible defending in this league.

I don't think it's fair to pick on the quality of football in USA, considering they do better than most other nations, including all those that you have just listed. Most of the American Football team play in the MLS as well, and from what i've seen, sure it's no EPL or Primera, but it's pretty fricken good. I'm from Australia and have never been to the US.

@FTFproductions09 No, the only leagues above MLS outside Europe are Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico, I think Japan, Korea and rest of the Americas are slightly behind. MLS allows a lot of foreign players and many of them (like Henry) are very good.

Again : Ireland has to beat harder teams then america has to do. america plays against honduras, costa rica and trinindad tobago. Ireland has to play against spain, italy, belgium, germany and so and so on.
The USA league is good, but the teams in the mls wouldn't beat team from france, italy or england. even dutch and belgian teams are better. But the mls has lots of money, so the future is lookin good for the american footballfans.
