when was the last time you seen a fire escape on a tower block? who in there right mind would use a fire escape in an earth quake when you 30 floors up and the building is moving like they do in earth quakes.

@TheWacoKid1963 You're right there. It's only the US - the supposedly leading technology nation - where old-fashioned and unsafe fire escapes are rotting away on the outside of buildings. Most modern buildings of this sort have their fire escapes inside.

But of course, the States haven't heard of underground electrical cabling either, which would save them millions every hurricane season. They haven't heard of fences to protect their lawns. They haven't heard - or don't want - tbc
