This album was why they had to shut the disco movement down. Louis Johnson on bass, Quincy Jones arranging and producing and MJ on the vocals really raised the bar so high, all the other cookie cutter disco acts would just pale in comparison. Thanks to technology a lot of bass players are really slapping well these days. However the funk is in the thumb, not all of the pops. If you really study Louis Johnson and Marcus Miller you'll see what I mean. This song while having pops included is all Thumb in my opinion. Bass players, want to sound orginal, work on your thumb and not so much the pops. Just my opinion.
