I think I am in love! That is one sexy little heli. She can land her skids on my pad anytime. Blade helicopters canopies suck. Who designs them . Really add some flames and that's a upgrade. At least Walkera supplies a nice looking canopy.
@DirkME1022 yeah i love it ,,measures are totally wrong ,like original blade already looks kind of funny stock : ) so its part of the characteristics i liked to slightly overdo to work away the ugly wrong proportioned skids
next to this indoor clown my 450 looks like a serious heli now : )
@1BLADESHY thanks ,yeah i had to take action ,i was bored by the e-flight look of all their models,,if they like to sell spare parts so badly ,,why not give us double brushless and start a trade in variety of canopy model and colors or spray art ,,im sure the 120sr pilot will get a collection of canos
LOL... I agree on the design flaws! Can you imagine a 120SR with the same kind of canopy as your KDS... talk about kick-butt! The off-yellow stock canopy is so blah... this model just screams for upgrades, and you my friend have found at least one way to do it! Nice touch with the CP-esque orange floats!
@stot2614 just finished first succesfull outdoorflight ,,there was no wind ,,so in the natural space this heli needs its behaviour of the msr starts to show ,like pendulum action ,,conclusion: indoor its GREAT ,,outdoors its O.K ,maybe a 250 size is better for outdoor ,,or the mcpx might surprise,i hope they do something about those looks too ,its not the prettiest either and comes in 2 colors ,actually 1 because i dont like the green version at all,,maybe find others that fit on the mcpx
@bassax7045 Oh... I am sure there will be plenty of upgrade canopies available with all the interest that the mCP X has garnered at least on rcgroups... over 50 pages of thread posts in a 1-2 day period! I had never seen so much chatter about any model like that before! Outdoors it is actually a lot better than you think when you add the metal upgrades (yes, I admit it on THIS one!)... I saw an awesome video of rakonheli metal upgrades and an Xtreme canopy that made it look like a small 250!
@bassax7045 I will admit that when I saw a full metal part upgrade video of rakonheli meatl parts, that thing flies like it owns the air... much like I am told the 250 does, despite the huge difference in size and headspeed. The particular video I saw had a really cool Align-like red and white Xtreme canopy that really set it apart like your mod does for yours. Whenever I get the Blade 120SR (mCP X first of course!), I will definitely go to rakonheli as I am very impressed with their upgrades.
@stot2614 have checked them out too ,and as soon as i can get double brushless on the 120sr i am willing to invest about 200$ to fully upgrade
not going to with the brushed motors,,and you are right ,the blade 450 cano looks slightly better colored but is still ugly shaped,,,then again ,who cares as long as it flies good : )
@georgesjunglerc i think thats the only flaw with all e-flite helis ,they fly great ,and are designed for practical use ,but look like ...... ,,would be nice if next to red or yellow they also would sell different shape canopies at horizonhobby ,,now it looks like how russians design their vehicles ,,square, solid, strong but not looking too pretty : ) ,,next to that its also buisness for them and would make some put their 120sr back to shape if they would make new canopies and fins
