  • ismael, ed, alvin, cal, tone, shawn, rudy wilbert, stand guard on all the corners of where i rest my head.

  • If you listen @ 3:35 you can hear "fuck queensbridge" in the background. It's masked with the airplane effect, but if you listen close you can hear it.

  • @mecha48 damn are u stupid?this is 86 biggie pac died in 96/97 it's a decade!!!

  • @loverainydayz17 who the fuck you calling a poser?you bitch i know more about hip-hop than you will ever know i know krs-one lived like this and if not scott's death today he would probably rap about guns etc. i meant that they didnt kill each other during hip-hop beef it was only rap not like biggie and tupac so how about you stfu because to me you look like a fucking nerdy ass motherfucker...FUCK YOU!!!

  • @hiphop4life24678 biggie and pac were killed coz of local shit

  • An eternal #1 classic banger right here. Fa' sho!

  • i like the presidential ad. it's scary, if you think about it.

  • fuck shan peace to QB

  • the origin of 90's sounds and awesomeness in music and popular culture foveverrrrrrrrrrrrr!.

  • STAND UP B.X. ( CASTLE HILL )

  • shannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn bridge is over 0044 7769 732 240

  • I think now, the Bronx needs to do what MC Shan did with "THE BRIDGE", KRS gotta do a BX 2012 remix of South Bronx (kinda like what Shan did with his remix with all QB rappers). We need some revival for the birthplace of Hip Hop. Imagine, KRS featuring, French Montana, Cory Gunz, Fred da Godson, Fat Joe, Peter Gunz, Hell Rell, Drag-On, Lord Tariq, Tru Life, Lord Finesse, etc. Anyway tho, just a random thought.

    R.I.P Scott La Rock

  • any producers lookin to make hip hop, take a listen to this track as it shows you how effective simplicity is!

  • @Maniak82 buhaha im talking about beef in rap not what happens on the street read before you say something stupid motherfucker

  • SOUF BRONX, SOUF-SOUF BRONX!!!

  • The “style” referred to here is a particular flow or cadence used by MC Shan in The Bridge. KRS mimics this same flow to deliver the last four lines of this verse and the last two lines of the song. Not only does he diss MC Shan but he uses Shan’s own rhyme style to do it. Now that’s slick!

  • The 6 dislikes are from the Bridge. SOUTH BRONX

  • hate the Yankees but love this song, so fresh for '86

  • this is what iam talking about!

  • They need to put this album in the Library of Congress.

  • @micmac99 and the Smiffsonian!

  • This is real hip hop. Where it all started and if you dont know you better ask somebody.

  • doesnt sound like krs

  • @61n9ner

its like the voice-change from LL .. simple sounds younger

  • realness

  • Where's the dislike bar?

  • Niggas use to lose their fucking mind off of this shit!!!

  • These young clowns don't know nothing about real Hip Hop!!! As soon as it left the east coast it was a downward spiral!!!

  • @MADNEWYORKER914 lol when it "left the east coast"? haha it's all about the West Coast kiid. As soon as Tupac got a hold of the rap game, niggaz was done, n that's when the REAL Hip Hop was born. The east coast just offered a different kinda style, but the WestCoast is where it's at n where it's going to stay

  • @valdezortiz831 , and then you woke the fuck up!!! Nigga the west ain't doing shit these days. Stop fooling yourself!!! Your comment is hilarious!!!

  • @MADNEWYORKER914 the comment valdezortiz831 made was foolish but saying the west ain't doing nothing these days is also not right. the best rapper out now is from the west. crooked i

  • @Funkdogg Crooked I maybe the best out there in the west, but he is not the best in the game period!!! Don't trip, I like dude though. He has skillz!!!

  • @MADNEWYORKER914 he sure does. and i say the best but i should say one of the best because choosing 1 mc as the best is just silly. but i do think he is one of the best in the game though. but there are still so many mc's i not even heard yet.

  • seeing KRS tonight. dream come true!

  • Historical document pretending to be rap music.

  • this is meant...no bull,just rhyme,reason and riddim...

  • r.i.p scott larock

  • SOUTH BRONX LATE 70'S. RUGGED,LAWLESS, DANGEROUS, NO SHIT...WHO WAS RUNNING THE STREETS BACK THEN? GIVE ME A SHOUT OUT.

  • @GlassPike i know this but i'm talkin bout beef in hip hop you punk motherfucker

  • Now this is real hip hop! back then you could have a beef without killing each other...

  • @hiphop4life24678 lol! are you forgetting the one thing everyone knows about scott la rock?

  • @hiphop4life24678 "Without killin each other" Buhahaha after this Scot Larock was killed.

  • @hiphop4life24678 Dude, are you fucking stupid? You have to be a poser. You don't know a damn thing about KRS ONE living the streets watching people get robbed and hookers whoring themselves out.

Educate yourself before looking like a complete fool.

  • @hiphop4life24678 I scrolled down to read your explanation, seems I wasn't the only one to see your poorly put together statement for what it is. Terrible.

Good job on not forming a complete thought into correct words for a real understanding, Really shows how Intelligent you are.

Just in case you were wondering, I'm saying you are fucking stupid kid.

  • @hiphop4life24678 You know what. After read a shit ton, You still are fucking wrong. Read KRS ONE's Biography dumb fuck.

  • @hiphop4life24678 WTF you talking about, nas and jay didn't kill each other. Also this wasn't really a beef, more like competition. BDP really had conflict with Mr. Magic when he diss their mixtape, so they took their aggression out on Mr. Magics crew the juice crew.

  • Comment removed

  • @blackplaque617

    wtf?

juice crew was founded by Marley Marl

  • @zer0nable I know, I meant crew in general meaning the people he was down with. The juice crew was still Mr. Magic's people. He played their records on his radio station and Marley Marl got the name juice from him. I never said he created them, but supported them.

  • such a raw album. incredible album. South Bronx came out on 12" before the album but it sits perfectly on the album -it's not just a series of individual tracks but is a cohesive piece of work. every tune is special.

  • Classic

  • he cant be kool moe dee haha jk jk

  • R.I.P scott la rock, BDP was my first hip hop experience, props to my big bro for introducing me at 5 years old. I needed to know R.I.P bro love u forever xxx

  • R.I.P Scott la rock

  • @MrBaphomet616 Hell yeah.

  • @MrBaphomet616 Word. Bro someone finnaly got an opinion that is logical. Ja killed eminem in loose change end of story. Eminem is a pop sell out.

  • @MrBaphomet616 youre not god either,

why are you so sure that your opinion is right?

  • @MrBaphomet616 youre not god either, why are you so sure that your opinion is right?

  • @MrBaphomet616 is KRS-One a white suburban teenager?

i guess not, but he said that eminem is sick as fuck some years ago

  • @MrBaphomet616 lol eminem killed ja rule's career and everybody knows that

and the ones that tthink eminem is good are in fact true hiphop legends, so stop lying to yourself and realize that eminem is one of the sickest rappers of all time

  • @MrBaphomet616 is eminem more overrated than nelly, drake, wiz khalifa?

    ja rule killed eminem?

kill yourself and if you resurrect kill yourself again

  • eminem can't be compared to nicki minaj or lil wayne

even though he is wacker than he was until 2003, you can't say he is like nicki minaj

  • wack? fuck off, nerd

  • Dude, whack

  • gta

  • @MrBaphomet616 technically they are his 3rd and 4th but they are his first 2 studio albums, and you can believe that but many people would say other wise

  • i dont know why but this song is great to play with video games. racing, fighting shooting "pistols will go bRooagh"

  • love my old hood, most of my people are gone. trying to save where i can really love the memories growing up as a child there.

  • If u pop The Shit in the bronx u might not live......wowwww

  • I am 40 years old. I was around when hip hop was born. I def agree with most posts on here talking about old school is where its at. I also think that Eminem is lyrically a beast. so all those who say is shit is out are out of your mind. no 1 big comes at Em because they know he will murder them on the mic.

  • @gonegreen22 I'm 39 & I totally agree with you on Eminem. I was around when Hip Hop started too. I don't listen to alot of today's so called hip hop music. It just doesn't compare with the old school. The thing that really gets on my nerves is when my 18 year old son's friends come over to the house & try to tell me that Lil Wayne is the best lyricist around. I shut them down with that BULLSHIT all the time. They don't even know the history of hip hop to speak on it.

  • @gonegreen22 nas would murder em any day

  • @JamesPriceJohnson Fuck Eminem? I don't think you know what you're talking about.

  • @twistedtheaos not eninem though,em still one of the best spitters.fuck wayne and them other wac ass niggas

  • @twistedtheaos Eminem is shit compared to the legends... most overrated rapper of all time

  • @Sl1ckM1x

agreed. 97-02 he was really dope tho

  • This is real hip hop at its best! The line in the movie "Brown Sugar" when he says remember how hip hop made you feel! Is what should be said everytime a jam like this is mentioned or played! Peace to those that know and all those just finding out, your here now, the crap they are playing today was only to throw you off, do not walk into the light.......

  • man, all these comments all about how music now isn't the same, isn't as good.... It isn't as good to you, it isn't the same to you, man. Do you think people just got lame? No man, it's just you stopped listening... urban music isn't dead so stop hatin' brotha.

  • my daddy like this song

  • THIS! Is MUSIC!!!!

  • Soulja Boy should redo this track.

  • @easyway2001 LMAO HHAHAHAHAHAAH BEST JOKE ON YOUTUBE ROFL !!@!@!@! HAHAHAHAHA UR so funny dude "soulja boy should redo this track" HAHAHHAHAHA UR JUST TOO FUNNY HAHAHAAH

  • @easyway2001 No.

The same guy who helped put the final nail in the Hip Hop coffin should NOT (and I mean NOT) remake this joint. No...just...no.

  • peace to scott la rock.....i miss dj red alert, 98.7 kiss fm on ya fm dial boi

  • Ayo this joint right here is still Funky. Shout out to the Originators.

  • Simple, straightforward beat - that ish is hard to do. Perfect for an emcee to step up and kill it with lyrics! BDP is the real, real hip hop.

  • fuck eminem lil wayne minaj etc. Old school all the way. 1886 to 2000 were the best years of music in America. Now all we have is a bunch of bullshit

  • @JamesPriceJohnson Hell ya man that 1890's shit was the best. I remember bumpin that in my horse and buggy on the way back from the civil war. lol

  • @kickyabutt lmao the civil war from before the 1890s. JUST SAYIN ;)

  • @JamesPriceJohnson lol ya i know 1860's. i just couldnt think of anything else i would be coming back from haha

  • @JamesPriceJohnson whoa buddy...eminem contributed to hip-hop in major ways in the late '90s and early 2000s, so you might wanna take him off that list. i agree with everything else though :)

  • @bbawlr24 i have recently produced a liking for some of Eminem's songs. But not all of them, because in some it sounds like he is just shouting.

  • @bbawlr24 i get what ur saying, eminem made a revolution in rap when he joined the game. and i think he also meant 1986 rap hasnt been around for over a hundred years.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson i dont think eminem sucks,he was influenced by them,he keeps it tight recovery was a great album,at least he doesnt floss about money and women!!

  • @deniskaran yes ,1886. Ragtime began around that time i believe.

  • Comment removed

  • @tanasiareid7 yea i've earned a somewhat liking of Eminem, even though in lots of his songs it really just sounds like he's screaming.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson I'm just tired of hearing him bitch about how much his life used to suck, haha.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson if u say eminem aint got lyrical talent u a fool.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson

listen to Eminem from Infinite to the Marshall Mathers LP and u might change your mind

  • @JamesPriceJohnson fuck eminem? i hope you are talking about new em, did you forget that em has made 2 of the greatest hip hop albums ever and his third was classic to

  • @lakersardabest i actually did start to like a few of his tracks after i posted this comment

  • @JamesPriceJohnson Dont you mean 1996?

  • @JamesPriceJohnson Or 1986.... my bad!!

  • @gotmadskilz in place of 1886? No. Ragtime to the last of what i would consider true "rap",was the best music.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson Fuck You! Eminem is a great rapper he has nothing to do with lil wayne and everything else! Eminem is better than lil wayne, Drake ... So a little respect for him!

  • @RHNRaphiphopNation Again, i changed by mind about Eminem. Some of his songs are good, but sometimes i feel like he's just screaming.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson Eminem?..He is one of the most lyrical rappers evr..and he was rappin before 2000 and he still is..

  • @SpEeDFrEeK005 the new stuff just isnt the same though.

  • @sweet7878 True That

  • @JamesPriceJohnson My guess is you dont turn off the radio when its off you turn it on to hopfully hear the next 'what you want' meaning the old days. Listen to Big L. Chris is the best but hes not even doing, now, what you say is the best time. Does that mean he sucks now????

  • @JamesPriceJohnson u forgot wiz hes just as gay ass wayne

  • @JamesPriceJohnson yYu say fuck Eminem but in an interview Krs-One said he liked Eminem

  • @JamesPriceJohnson why fuck eminem?

  • @JamesPriceJohnson ya man, 1886 were the days. Mozart for days, son.

  • @TehJoudi Actually, 1886 was when ragtime evolved. Americas classical music, and very important to black history because of Scott Joplin(look him up)

  • @JamesPriceJohnson dont know bout all that

  • @JamesPriceJohnson

    fuck u

eminem is a real raper bitch

  • @randyorton512 Some of his songs are allright.

  • @JamesPriceJohnson

    some? all

  • @JamesPriceJohnson You do know Eminem was a part of that era. 1996-2000. Now he sucks though.

  • @neLAsesh

    sucks ??'re deaf

  • dam son, this the real rap, fuck TI and Minaj and all these other posers. especially aguilera, that fat cow

  • hahaha awesomee

  • Classic

  • This shit is ill. BDP for life ;)

  • When driving throuh Compton a few years back, I thought it looked like the suburbs.... yeah.. thats right.. I said it! Where is the hood?

Put this track on, drive down any street in the South Bronx and the old heads will drop what they are doing and heads will start bouncing.

BTW: When did KRS1 make the switch from CRIMINAL minded to SPIRITUAL minded?

  • @BIGnCHOCOLATE You been to the South Bronx lately? I'm from University Ave. where Scott La Rock was killed--everyone in that whole Yankee Stadium area is Dominican now, there are no old heads left--even the projects around there have changed.

  • FUCK THE SOUTH BRONG NIGGA!!!...THIS IZ COMPTON..

  • Needs more metronome!

  • 3 people are from Queens.

  • I was in the 10th grade when this came out during my days at James Monroe High School in The Bronx when this came out. Thanks for posting it on here.

  • im from southside queens this shit is better than shan the bridge anyday krs one was a better rapper than shan

  • If you are from the Bronx and in your late 30's, you feel this every time this comes on..

BDP represented the Bronx like no other.. Period!!!

  • 3 people rapping bout their white puma sneakers

  • 1986!!!, i don't like much old school but this stuff is advanced for it's time

  • there are so many dislikes that you cant see them

  • a beast

  • dam son, dis some awesome shit, fukk 50 cent and all these new age rappers and their wah wah electro

  • This was some rock hard shit when it came out...I rocked the hell out of this album.. Still do..

  • im not gonna like it or dislike im from brooklyn

  • whats the break on this? parts of it are two tracks from James Brown - "Get Up off Tha Thing" & "Get Up Get Involved" but the main part of the beat with the horn, where did that come from?
