  • this is such a great idea although it looks a bit fake.

it would be cool if their was actually a release date and people would have it

  • Wow, this is really inconvenient. This wouldn't work at all.

  • as a novelty yes, as a useful product im not sure. why a cube?

  • Looks pretty cool,, in kitchen.

But I think I want to touch the cube directly.

  • lemme know if you want my friend's opinion on it. he does a lot of futuristic concept development stuff and is like a god in that field. I don't mean it in a bad way but he'd be able to take your cube concept and turn it into something more refined and practical at least conceptually, but again, don't take it the wrong way I think your idea is sweet!

  • this is just me but its pointless it being a cube if i was to improve it by making it a big tablet

  • Personally I think idea is great, though to me I would much rather use it on a flat surface for most. The multi-display is very awesome. I could seriously see myself using this.

  • what a nifty concept! How much?

  • Holy shit thats awesome! You should have made it into a tablet. Would definantly buy!

  • Very cool!

  • you can browse the internet with that ?

  • Everyone seems to think we need technology to allow us to sit in a room and listen to music while we wait for our friends to arrive and share their pictures with us. Multitouch technology is such a fad now, and most of these concepts are highly impractical applications of it.

  • Очень полезная штука!

  • Very confusing of how to use this thing!

  • it works pretty great, I just would not have a clue how to use it, the interaction seems not to be very intuitive...

  • it works pretty great, I just would not have a clue how to use it, the interaction seems not to be very intuitive...

  • Remembers me the Cubezilla Concept, peoples choice on Mozilla Design Challange Summer 2009.

  • Great idea.

do you have a release date?

  • @Norwegenfan28

We are still in a concept stage. There is no release date yet. We will keep you posted on progress and dates.

  • intuitive? But only if you grow up with it!

  • Too small, limited usefulness, awkward. The software is nice, the choice of it being a cube is not (you can only see at most 3 sides - 50% of screen - at once).

  • Wow, his "favorite tune" blows!

  • its cool, but it would b alot but it would b alot cooler if it was a sphere shape so it could b like your own crystal ball now thaT WOULD B THE SHIT

  • looks cool ... but pretty useless.

I dont want to carry this across my apartement.

Gesture capability and more Multimedia capabilities of LCD TV's would be far more interesting than just another device

  • @bonesi Then... dont carry it around... just keep it in 1 spot... Glad I could help

  • I dunno about you, but a cube shape seems less practical to me than a flat screen or maybe even just a projection.

  • Yeah, really cool, you can't use it blindly, since it lacks tactile feedback and it's a darn slow way to use any computing device if you have to wait for that fancy ui to move.

It'd be halfway awesome if you wouldn't have to carry(please, add a handle and cut off it's legs!) it around and just make the gestures into thin air.

  • I tihnk its fake

  • R u kidding? this is like a big deal. iphne the technology alone. shit is ill.

    whats to come next?

  • 100% fake.

  • I love the music. But I cannot find Ina Ming - Imagination anywhere on the web. Can you kindly direct me to the origin of the song from 1:25?

  • Weird.

  • Oh, it's awesome! But is it real?

  • Very Cool great idea, but i think a tablet would be more user friendly than a cube

  • useless.

  • agree

  • google for ident technology

it's a German start up company.

Those features are real, it works with the energy field of the body.

It will maybe take a couple of years to get it on the market, but it's really cool ;-)

  • This is still a concept device. Screens are placed onto device, because there is no such device yet... :)

  • Loks cool, but is it reaL?

  • looks like an iphone cube. wonder wat power it will run on? lets keep it green :)

  • This is indeed very cool and well designed but this is absolutely 100% usless waste of money.

  • is this fake or real? wow this is too sexy to be real... But is this going to come out in asia first.. or is it gunna come out at the same time?

  • This is too difficult... too many surfaces.

I'm not carrying a Cube around my house.

The technology should blend into your environment and become a rather complicated focal point.

  • Well, that's really awesome device... Hopefully, I'll have one at home soon!! :)

  • Well, that's really awesome... Hopefully, I'll have one of these "cube's" at home soon.

  • One thing is to make an animation. Implement that idea in real world.

  • It is just an interesting concept, but as far as using it...eerr...it's pointless and looks very useless. Want to impress due to the "gesture" tech, go ahead, but it will fail to work as a home entertainment device

  • What's Mark doing in the kitchen?

  • Really cool. I am curious to see products with gesture control in the future.

  • comments are quite right.. its not very intuitive.

besides that, whats the special thing?

NOT touching the surface actually makes it harder to use due to missing tactile feedback. even the gestures are similar to the ones used on multitouch screens.

  • I think, the implementation is too difficult

  • As a proof of concept its really interesting but I'm not sure why anyone would want something that they have to cart from room to room. As far as a media device the screen seems wrong set-up and too small for video/ movies, too bulky for a music controller (ipod touch/droid) and we already have e-picture frames. It just doesn't seem very utilitarian enough for me, but I dig the fake music.

  • Ina Ming is that fake ?? Like the song

  • Completely stupid. What's the point of all the sides? And they say it's intuitive. How is sliding the side of your hand along the edge of the cube to change volume intuitive? How do you intuitively know that that's how you change the volume? Why not a volume slider?

  • Well, I want one for my robot.... Use it the head should be cool. Other than this, I agree with some folks say its not very useful.

  • hmmm... and also add in a universal control for lights, doors, windows, tv, music, and phone/fax :D

i so want to have one now

  • good, but i want a gesture sphere!!! ;D

  • You will use the cube for what? Photos? Recipes? Music? What more this little box do? Just to impressing friends how rick you are. Come on, you can even read a book nor navigate on internet easily. I prefer the unfinished ipad for while and lets try to do real technology and not one a thing to make people be impressed!

  • anyone know if i can buy that song?

    I'm guessing it's fake because it wasn't in google...help? :(

  • this just doesn't look intuitive at all. good luck with that.

  • Интересно если сделают, то сколько будет стоить?

  • Is that a prototype? or just an idea?

it looks awesome! if it's real!!!!!!!!!

  • good idea but I dont think i'll buy it because its kinda bizarre and scary for some reason...

  • That is great. So, do all those effects have to be applied on a computer on top of that green cube? Yeah! i mean, just sit there and pretend that your green screen cube actually does something and then later apply the effects on your computer and whatch it actually happen! SWEET!!!

  • The Enrichment Center reminds you that the Weighted Companion Cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak

  • Ina Ming - Imagination

Is that a made up song? I can't find it, I love the synth-like marimba and the breakbeat it pretty awesome!

  • yeah searched for it too!! anyone with info about the tune?

  • If you end up finding it, lemme know; ive been looking too

  • I think "stuff" like this would be cool... but this perticular concept is not very comfortable.. the gestures would have to be refined a lot more.. for instance, to play music.. I dont see why my hands need to move a incredible amount just to hit play, volume, pause.. like touching one side of the cube to select music, the other to play, a corner to pause... it's more novel than functional. I have a lot of ideas about how to make it much more intuitive.

  • I will buy this product!!! Genial!

  • Very interesting idea.

    when will it be available?

  • This is very exciting...not so much for the product but for what the future holds for this technology

  • well, the Gesture Cube allows 3D gestures which is beyond pure touch (e.g. the iPad).... so no need to touch the surface, a simple weave in 3D space is enough.

  • and its WAY easier to carry a 1ft x 1ft block around than it is to carry a 10in x 1cm iPad!!! i can really see this happening!

  • @GestureCube This is a cool tech demo, however as an actual product its like a super expensive ipad that isn't very portable and doesn't have nearly as much usefulness and the only upside is that you don't have to directly touch it? I can't imagine you can produce this thing for any less then $1500. Also i can't give you credit for creative design since I feel the entertainment cube concept is a cliche concept from like 10 years ago.
