@Joester1908 If you think of EC's and The Who's as two different songs, this one sounds better. I don't mean better than Eddie's, I mean better sounding to those who perfer whis style.
@abt7217tc yes you have a point. i guess what i was saying if i didnt already own the song and i looked it up on itunes i would buy the original because i like that old rock sound. i guess this is good too in this style of music
In my opinion it is no accident that John Entwistle in all voting sources has been ranked as the Greatest Rock Group Bass Player ever in history.
That is up to individual's music style taste. One large group of people love British Rock like the Who and Led Zeppelin. The other large group of people love American Southern Fried Rock like the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
The Americans may have invented Rock And Roll, but the British perfected it by modifying it.
@kja427 Two different styles for their own reasons. The Who intentionally performed the song for a different era of music. Not for the 1950s era of people.
@luucasduuarte ...I hate to break the news to you but Metallica uses so much Pro Tools when they play live it's a complete joke. Comparing them to The Who...not even close. What you are hearing on this is live and raw. Metallica...not quite "live"
Saw The Who maybe a dozen times, six with Keith, so I know whereof I speak. Pete has always been (justifiably) very humble about his guitar skills, but a great dynamic rhythym section has almost always covered, and it's always been adequate. I stand by my comments regarding Daltry, though.
Daltry was never more than a chick magnet with his shirt off. Pete couldn't play his way out of a paper bag. John reinvented the Fender bass as a melodic instrument, and Keith, well, let's just say that the world is the poorer for his loss
@ktel60 You're a bit severe here.... most guitarists wouldn't have been able to fit with John and Keith's playing, and well, John was a very great singer, but Daltrey had a much better voice in live performances, so he sure was very important, since The Who was more of a live act. And anyway, I don't think either John or Pete (let alone Keith) would have been able to sing Pete's compositions as well as good old Roger.
thats true, (in a way) you cant mess up a solo, i mean its a "solo" its just you and you doin whatever you want really, sounds like ass maybe but its a solo. AND thats true too. Pete cant mess up, no matter what sound he makes or even if it DEFF. is a mess up, it just doesnt matter cause its golden, JOHN just doesnt mess up. Ever
@ Cloudz2789 yeah technically you can mess up what you didn't write soooooooo. yeah... Eddie Conchran would be thinking "hey he messed up" or "nice improvement" but yeah you can't mess up live. it just sounds good.
That was an electrifying, utterly spectacular rendition, for I could keenly feel that awesome power and surge of energy emanating from the stage as it shot outward, permeating the entire stadium. The Who rocks!!! Taylor from SQ Mass.
I love John's singing, The Who is the bomb

Funny how Tony Randall,Frank Sinatra, and Bing Crosby all made predictions in 1955 that Rock And Roll was going to be completely dead in 15 years.
15 years later Rock And Roll developed new better than ever from it's roots.

I gotta say that Keith Moon sure was an animal on drums! As for Townshend, it was not one of his better nights.
