  • Or maybe hes just talented.don't be a damn hater!

  • Maybe his Roland bosses told him "Son, you better learn how to play chords on them pads or you'll lose your job". :-D

  • Advanced Player;)

  • great tutorial

  • That is some MAD playing rhodes chords on PADS !!!??? !!!

  • Nicee. do this mean i have to get rid of my mpc1000 or should i just keep it and save up for this????? HELP!

  • @searize i should keep the mpc

  • SUSE U ARE ABSOUTLEY THE BEST SAMPLER I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE DUDE THIS IS WATS HOT MAN

SO THE MACHINE COMES WITH SOUNDS ALREADY?

  • THis is really great stuff, But a keyboard controller hooked into software like Logic, does the same thing. But more. But, you don't get this cool looking deck. This is one of the best demos on youtube. Thanks. My favorite part was his keyboard playing between 2:41 and 2:48. THis is a bad dude. I'd love to see him play the keyboard.

  • I can only say "Damn", I'd never do sumthin' on a singlie machine. Amazing..

  • thizz man is a beast on the mv88k,... damn man, soooo quick, so clean,... i can spend 2 weeks on my mv88k and not gettin anything out like thizz.---> bigup man <---

  • bestly

  • damn was the store about to close :/

  • Can you use one of the knobs or faders to change the pitch of the whole sample program (all the pads) at ones and while playing? I do this all the time on my mp, and it's crucial for my beat making process, in order to decide at what tempo the sample sounds the best or to make it fit a certain tempo. So I need to know if I can do this on the MV as well?

  • 1. MV 88/80 (small difference)

    2. MP4K

    3. MP5K

    4. 2.5K JJOSXL

    5. MP2K XL

Started on the 1K JJOS2, on the 2.5 JJOSXL right now. Getting rid of it för a 4 K but I really wanna get to that MV-88. Too bad they're so rare and expensive on the swedish 2nd hand market.. Hope one shows up for sale one day, at a reasonable price, with the extra outputs and vga expansion.. then it's all mine!

  • @karlharleman try e bay i bough mine last month for 650

  • 2:40-2:48.... pure madness

  • You must own one of those ! You navigate it like no ones business !

  • Those pads look really thick and squishy ! I want one of those !

  • what the hell is this.. lots of button pushing..and no sound hahahaha???!!!

  • this guy def knows how to work it he goes so fast

  • my friend just got one, im about to be over his house every day

  • It's slick how just watching a few of these tutorials over time, while paying close attention, the subconscious mind picks up on every single step and process of something when you're completely interested and focused in on it, remembering each detail even if you're not consciously aware of what the hell you're doing. I took a 1 hour nap, woke up and all of this stuck to me like glue. I've only had mine for a month and I'm still learning new tricks with this "Beast". If you have one, keep it.

  • ive had my MV for 4 years and i can do some amazing things on that machine...

but, theres no way i can play chords on the pads like that...

ill stick to usin my keyboard lol

    thats talent man

  • This machine is HARD, if i didnt already buy an akai mpc, he definatley would have sold this to me!

  • @lox83 which mpc you get mate? i got a 5000 in september and been having major problems with it ever since. Basically, two machine have packed in on me already- waiting on the 2nd replacement right now, its fustrating me no end- im fearing the next one breaking after all the waiting around. You having any problems?

  • do you guys know if there are any programm out there which are good as this production studio ??? maybe reason or are they a better programm to make music ?

  • hi i accidently deleted one of my project is there a way of retrieving it?

  • how many tracks can you use to mix instruments? does it have as many as the fantom?

  • Ironically, what he just made in 5 minutes sounds better than 99% of the bullshit played on the radio. Sweet.

  • they got a sale on these at zzsounds for $1100

  • @DWilkins82 No doubt bruh! I got mine at American Music Supply though! You can't beat this machine!

  • @DWilkins82 right after i dropped 2 grande for it they dropped the price $900. i was pissed.

  • 5:03 "so you say 'well warren thats cool, how you make a song outta that?' im glad you asked"...LOL!

  • 5:23 to 5:29 really tickled me. This guy is seriously good at demonstrating!

  • GREAT WORK

    TIGERJUNGE

  • damn how much do these cost? the fender rhodes samples are so clutch. it IS a beast...

  • shit is iller than the mpc comes wit fender rhode samples inside the machine this workstation is a beast shit the mpc dont even come with a fender rhodes kit

  • Hey peeps I'm a beginner on the MV8800, I just recorded a pattern in pattern mode and I'm trying to make a song out of it in song mode..I cant seem to assign my different sound patterns on the velocity pads in song mode so that I can organize my sequence. When I go to pattern list i only see one pattern which is all my sound patterns playing simultaneously...but I trying to separate the different sound patterns and assign them to each pad for song creation...PLEASE HELP.

  • This man is sick!

  • that beat was quick and funky

  • oh my lord! that drum pattern is ill man!

  • sick!

  • He had me at play rhodes on the pads. I've never seen anything like that. EVER!

  • Ok Check this out. I know my stuff. People are comparing me to you. But I can't seem to get one thing going on. In about 4:44 Min into the clip while your playing inside of immediate Mode you starting to Ghost them notes on the pad. Here is what I need to know. How can you Ghost the Notes inside of Pattern or Song Mode Without using the resample Or copying them into an audio phrase?

  • Does anybody know if you can extract audio from a dvd on to the mv 8800.

  • I'm not sure, but just hook up to a mixer & run the audio from the DVD source, through the mixer, & to the MV's sample input! Voila, DVD audio!

  • Not from a DVD for your DVD player for sure. Most likely it can read DVD media, but only .wav's and stuff most likely.

  • @ephisiancrawford

    Yes you can.

  • I'm lovin' that jagged bass.

If you think about it, this is like Ableton Live in hardware. The only difference is terminology: what in the MV are called "patterns", are "clips" in Ableton, right? A very similar workflow.

  • i didnt look at it that way...good observation

  • Good observation, but backwards.. Ableton got its style from the MPC and roland groove boxes.. the hardware didnt copy Ableton.

  • Loving the bass filter squelch

  • Fuck man - I hope you saved that tune - where can I get that shit?????

  • This video starts at 2:40. Niiiiiiiiiiice!!!

  • Holy S###. He did not tell you this was his second time at this. Ha ha ha...... Very nice!

  • Can you buy that at Wal-mart?

  • No way, try guitar center but i think they stopped making them

  • No, they have not!

  • They did not stop making them at all. Guitar Center just slimmed their inventory. You can order them no problem though.

  • lol

  • I cant wait to get MINE!!

  • get the mv 8800 its way better then the mpc!!!

  • What do you prefer, an Akai MPC 500 on full option or the Roland MV-8800??

I dont know witch one to buy.

  • The MV 8800 no Doubt son!

    way more features

  • dude, nice video!

i like the temo of representation.. bunch of stuff in couple minutes!

  • real nice!

and damn!, the dude is crazy good at this

  • Wow,he's so damn adept at this.I was already amazed at when he put the keyboard parts in...but when he showed how you can manipulate the bass in real time...man,I lost it!

I'm gonna be up for a week when I first get this thing.

  • Ill bet most of you do not know who Warren Harris actually is, but trust me on this, he is one of the best producers outthere.

  • and isnt it supposed to come with a color monitor i saw on the website ?

  • it doesnt come with the monitor. that's sold separately.

  • what other hardware would be good to have if i purchased this ?

  • I am in my audio phrase edit mode and I turn my BPM sync on. I change the course tune to make the pitch higher. But then when I press the chop function it doesn't acknowledge the fact that I changed the pitch. The sample is loaded in the original pitch. What am I doing wrong?

  • Dude, the way you play chords without a keyboard boggles my mind! Amazing

  • Is the MV-8800 really just for hip-hop/rap/r,b? All videos seem it is geared for those.

  • no more than a fender stratocaster only being for blues (because that's what a majority of demo vids are). it's up to you to do to decide what you want the mv to do.

  • that was by far the best mv vid i ever seen almost makes me wanna give up my 2000xl

  • can u trigger drum pads with this thing??

  • This guy is a genius! Warren Harris aka Hanna. Don't get how he can play the rhodes patch with those pads!

  • .....wow

  • I was pretty impressed until he mentioned how you change change the loops in real-time (the filter on the bass). That made me cry.

  • man, this guy is a King, I've never seen someone play AND explain as well as he does

  • machine is a beast. dude is monsta running. nice vid

  • what song was it you made or did you just make it randomly it was rely good!

  • Is it me or were this dude movin his hands really fast at one point in the video...

  • is this recommended more than the mpc?

  • it is more difficult to learn how to use but basically, you can do anything on this baby

  • he explained it pretty simple

so its not that easy then

  • From 2:42 to 2:49 he pretty much goes from Bach's Chromatic Fantasy to Coltrane's Giant Steps. On 16 MPC pads.

    Think about that.

  • omg! i need one so bad. $2000 in amazon O_o

  • i had the pleasure of usin one of these bad boys! it rocks with the hard drive. i need one bad haha

  • i got my mv 8000 today

  • i wana get one my self is it user friendly and like easy to make beats on?

  • MOSTRUOSOOO

  • So pretty much this dude made an ill beat in 30 seconds. If you only count the seconds it took him to play the patterns it didnt take him no time. Who plays chords on pads? This dude just fucked my mind up. Back to the lab I go.

  • nice...

  • rakim would sound perfect on this!!!!!

  • This guy made a whole instrumental song in about 6 minutes without keyboard just 16 pads amazing human nature man. Sell that to an artist to add some vocals thats a good hip-hop track man.

  • One of the best tutorials seen here, brilliant piece of hardware.taa

  • damn straight. great tutorial.

  • i love the Mv8800 i cant afford one at the moment but have been going to the music store on a regular basis to use there demo :-)

cos the store is so massive they really dont mind you having ago on anything really so on a day when im not in a rush i spend an hour or two playing around on it so that when i can afford one hopefully june-july this year i get straight into mastering this beast :-)

  • so that was one aspect?!!?!?! thats all i neeed , to buy this shit.

  • thank you, these 2 videos inspired me to get my mv 8800. I am very happy, except when I see how much better you are on it!

give me a few years ;)

  • I forgot where I read it but it's said that 10 years is about the minimum time needed for human beings to master something. Good luck and have fun.

  • goddamn the dude plays chords on pads :|

  • lol

  • But Wasn't it random chords?

  • this guy knows alot man i wish he coukld teach me

  • hey famo how can i run the mv 8000 with reason

basically hard ware with soft ware

  • mv kills the mpc, I got the mv8000 and sonic cell with acess to a million sounds

  • Hell even after peeping the new MPC 5000, I still think the MV is KING!

  • when he played that rhodes on the pads it fucked me up... and i thought I was good hittin them pads lol.. Roland did good to get Warren to demo this.

  • that's a hot demo Warren...you obviously very accomplished at using the MV-8800...the demo shows that if you know what you are doing...you can quickly move from idea to song...in a few short minutes...in this case 6 minutes...that's hot.

  • That boi was a fool fa that beat! playing the chords on the pads pretty much killed it.

  • hey i was wondering if n e one could tell me step by step how to record a full song on the mv-8800?

  • keep wondering

  • loooooooool

  • dude...read the manual

  • cant wait till i get mine im roasting!! batch from uk got delayed so should be here in december

  • how doe this compare with the Akai Mpc4000 ? which one is better on price? I like both .

  • which ever one your more comfortable with i like the 4000 better though

  • Remember a true creative talent can make any piece of equipment sound good. The thing is he's good at showing the mv8800's potential. I like the open technique because it can't compete with MPC's filters and he knows that, haha.

  • wow i got a mpc 200xL and this machine is

is the future, thats all you need and a keyboard, not even laptop i wish i could afford that i wouldnt sleep trying to master

    it on the real!

  • how long does it take to learn everthang about this machine

  • I've heard from 3 days to 3 months. Depends on your level of wanting to learn it & what you may have used prior.

  • WHLY F! hes so fast with it lol. MV8800 IS THE ISH.. but Neko and a phantom is the best ish on earth lol

  • If RZA uses this machine, why is it NOT PRO ENOUGH????

  • have you ever eard about marketing??

ask to rza how much he get paid to make the publicity, listen if you want to put somethin out with quality only mv8800 is not enough

  • mpc doesn´t have all that features but why shoul i have an all-in-one if all that features aren´t pro enough

  • An MPC killer! Man! Warren Harris kills the beat in 5mins.! I can't wait to get my MV-8800! Shows what you can do INSIDE THE BOX WITH STOCK SOUNDS! That's impressive! Then the beat had that Pete Rock / Kev Brown sound of which is two of the greats out there! Peace!

  • It is better then the mpc 4000 in my opinion

  • It's better than the MPC4000 PERIOD! Try doing 8-Audio Tracks with realtime time stretching, and having a VGA Monitor to have a setup with the SAME flexibility as an actual DAW with an MPC4000. The realtime time stretching feature along with the sampling is what makes the MV THAT much better than an MPC4000. I just got one and all I gotta say is WOW! It's an AMAZING unit!

  • great!

  • harris is a beast. damn.

  • Dope machine. That dude make it look so easy too

  • wow so thats why Jermaine Dupri luv that piece of equipment

  • mane i know i can make hits but i just cant afford one of these now

  • This machine can do it all! I own one, and I can tell you first hand that I have produced over 114 tracks on this machine. Now mind you Warren, whom is a representative at Roland, he put a very nice track toger in a matter of minutes.....IMAGINGE WHAT YOU COULD DO IF YOU OWNED THIS BEAST!

  • crazy

  • that thing is the beast!

  • real dope beat for a quick demonstration
