This game is awesome. If there's a programmer reading this, I'd give anything to play the newer metal gear solid games in a faithful 8 bit demake (like a remake for NES)
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as the Metal Gear series. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
@TheJoshua392 I know a website where u can play nes games like this on. do u play hard games cuz this is one okay the website is vnes u just need probably need to download java and you are good to go or u can download a nes emulator and play it there
The first time this song was heard was back in the day when Solid Snake snuck onto the set of The Terminator and got his picture taken (for the box cover-he was still a rookie after all)
baahaha this reminds me of when i was 6 and had no money for a playstation 1 so i would always play this game and get spotted just because i loved hearing the music (:
i like this version of alert better than the the MSX red alert, i mean red alert was a great upbeat theme, but i think this one has a more, "get ready for the onslaught of bad guys" kind of feel to it, i cant really explain it well, but its epic, lets just leave it at that
Imagine this. Since this game was based of terminator. Terminator(Arnold)=Metal Gear and Kyle Reese(Michael Biehns)=solid snake. Terminator wants to destroy solid snake XD.
The NES version is a terrible port from the MSX version. It is too easy, and the Outer Heaven base is structured differently. The MSX version is the legit one (with better english), and has more challenge.
@OMN1DYN4M1X I take it that you've never played the European version of the MSX2 game, which was released in the 80's? It featured engrish like "I goofed. The lorry have started to move!"
@OMN1DYN4M1X its to easy? you are aware theres a special sequence in which to set up the explosives to destroy metal gear that is NEVER explained in-game. good luck beating the nes game with no help from strategy guides or the internet
@OMN1DYN4M1X "Penetrate the enemy's Outer Heaven and destoroy the ultimate weapon Metal Gear."
"I goofed. The lorry started to move!" And cigarettes are Cigals, and landmines are L-Mains. So, are you sure about that English MSX version having better English?
Well considering its a sneaking game, your really not supposed to get ready to fight an endless spawn of guards. I think if you kill all the guards on screen quickly enough they'll leave you alone though.
Snake on the cover art is essentially an exact copy of Michael Biehn's character Kyle Reese in the first Terminator film.
If you do a google image search for 'vg look alikes metal gear', the first thing to pop up is a side by side comparison of the cover art and a screenshot from the movie.

@OMN1DYN4M1X Too easy? Yo what are you smoking, pass me that crucial joint.
Whenever you die you respawn at the beginning and have to make a long trek to wherever you were.
Do you know how much hell that creates if you die fighting Big Boss?
qsxxsq2 7 months ago
@qsxxsq2 Actually no. If you rescue some hostages you respawn farther into the game.
MrCadefulp 7 months ago
@OMN1DYN4M1X And the MSX version is easier to sort through your items.... The NES was a nightmare to pick items :|

MSX: Fast, gets you ready for the endless spawn of guards
NES:Sounds more like a boss theme they'd use in MGS4...honestly.

I wonder if Michael Bean(Kyle Reese) knows about this.
Cuz he is one of the best Actors I've ever seen, at least he was used as reference for this MG Cover.
To bad hes is underrated, like MG.
