  • wow

  • The perfect psychedelic experience (without acid). Listening to Eric's lilting and resplendent guitar is like dancing in a beam of pure light from Heaven. Soulful vocals, great percussion, great bass, music that evokes beautiful imagery -- it's all in here. A great tune by which to view a spectacular sunset. I dedicate this song in loving memory of my Heavenly soul mate -- my wife, Barbra Rose. My True and Eternal Love, Barbra - I hope and pray that you and I will dance to this song in Heaven.

  • This was indeed a tribute to the Byrds from Cream... I remember the interview in which they said it!

  • i think this song is great

  • way

  • @worldcitizenforever ..........Funny.., i think this is the WORSE song in this album..

  • @arturoewallis ...............WORST...

  • @worldcitizenforever and total bullshit. this whole album is great!

  • i hear an old clapton song i never heard of and im always surprised with the riff. its like.... how can you have an orgasm so many times?

  • I'm going to make a guess. I'm thinking that when any of the established bands of this time heard this song, they must have said" How the fuck do we compete with this!"

  • The guitar was influenced by the loving spoonful guitarist zal......summer in thr city

  • I think they sound a little like the Beau Brummels with a 12 string.

  • Oddly enough, from 2:44 on, this song always reminded me of early Roxy Music.

This album had such a great cover, perfect for the times. Jack Bruce had one of the best voices of that era.

  • I don't know if it is a tribute the the Byrds or not, but I believe it's the only song that Clapton used a 12 string (I think a Gibson).

  • @stuka52 It is a common opinion in many respected sources that this song is influenced by Byrds. It wasn't uncommon for bands taking fresh influences moving around them at that time.

  • his voice is beautiful

  • Jack Bruce & Pete Brown wrote the best songs of the Psychedelic era. But Ginger Baker thought that his contributions, which were signifcant, was being short changed by an absence of royalties. Apparently, Jack & Eric Clapton couldn't agree on how to deal with that situation & when Clapton split to form Blind Faith, he had to be persuaded by Steve Winwood to bring Ginger into the new band.

  • brilliant

  • I just read that this song was recorded as a tribute to the Byrds!

  • i can tell now, the guitars and bass are very byrdesy......fifth dimension style

  • No offense but Mike Clark was never a Ginger Baker. I love both though.

  • yea i agree, though clarks drumming is mind blowing on 8 Miles High

  • thanx 54 for getting this amazing, brilliant album back on the tube.
