  • Even with the said crappy conversions and stuff it looks good for how much the price tag is I prefer it over the HD PVR any day. ahah

  • Ok guys, the flickering will only show up when recording. Then when you go to edit, and after rendering it will go away. Hope I helped

  • Thr quality id revolting :L

  • ITs a little pixilated

  • Hey guys, I need your help with my AverMedia CaptureHD: /watch?v=6mV8M5ZyY-I

Damn those flickering issues :( Pls help because it ain't funny to take footage with that flickering.

  • is this a hdmi recording?

  • It looks the same like HD PVR, AverMedia, BlackMagic and all the other crap :)

  • What setting do you use.

  • This cc is as good as a HD PVR in my opinion.

  • please help me

when i connect the ps3 with the capturecard over component

i have a signal(ps3-menu) but all colors are green exept gray and black

    have everyone the same problem?

  • PLEASE RESPOND!!:)

Can You Use This Capture Card In The UK? (I Heard You Cant?)

And Do You Need A Beast Computer To Use This?

  • Not saying the card is bad, but why not save yourself $100 and just torrent the full version of fraps? Sure you'll take a major fps hit when recording, but it still does full HD at any resolution.

  • You can split your hdmi connection so you can use something other than composite and S-Video, but out of every YouTube video for the capture card, I think the quality I get is greater than anyone's I have seen that uses this card, like myself. Maybe most people do not split the hdmi connection.

  • i alreayd have that hdmi thing but i don't have the program to record with, do you know where i can get it for free>?

  • @TheDefaultMac It comes on a CD in the package or you can download it off AverTV's website.

  • can u record while playing in 720p? please reply

  • @NorCalSPL yes

  • @playinghalotoday - Ok I got it working. I needed to manually reset drm media rights in Windows. Otherwise the error was: "The CRL does not exist or has been revoked. To play content with HDCP please get or upgrade the CRL". Everyone who has this error just google "how do you manually reset the drm media rights" and it should be the first link on microsoft answers. The capture card now kicks ass.

  • @playinghalotoday - Thanks for the reply. Just bought a dvi converter and hdmi converter to try your suggestion. It didn't work. The fraps suggestion doesn't help since I can't even get the Aver media capture card to display HDMI content without giving me an error about HDCP. Also my 360 isn't equipped for HDMI so I need to use component for that. I'll try calling support to see what they say.

  • I tried the HDMI port for my PS3 and it comes up with an error about HDCP. This is for playback only, not record. I don't have a HDCP compliant monitor but my Blu-ray player doesn't have a problem with it. Anyone have any advice? My 360 is already occupying the component so its not an option at this point.

  • @karl75m Not sure how PS3 works, but you can only record on Xbox by splitting connection.

    goes from

PS3 -----hdmi cable----- Splitter -----other splitter slot------hdmi cable------PCI slot averTV card.

  • @Sharpryno that is true...without the splitter, the software says the HDMI signal is protected and can't record

  • i got the hd pvr yesterday and i have NOT installed the software on my computer yet. I was just wondering if i can record 720 on my 1080p tv, because the 1080p-files is going to rape my computer.. Thank you.

  • I think its funny how HDCP is completely useless even though this exact thing was what it was designed for. All that money planning something that basically does nothing. GG corporate america, keep on missing the point entirely

  • shitty qual. check out my chan i got a dazzle and it looks better..

  • @xNiTroClutch lol nice joke

  • will this play HDCP pay tv using hdmi? not record ill use fraps for that

  • "PLEASE NOTE, this product is encrypted by HDCP over HDMI, so you are NOT going to be able to record Encrypted content using the HDMI connection on things such as the PS3, DVD, Blu Ray, Cable box, etc..."

Right.. but will it record Xbox360 through HDMI? I'm planning on a setup like this:

Xbox 360 --- HDMI cable --- Capture card

Capture card ---- HDMI cable ---- Monitor / TV

Sorry if my question sounds noobish, but some people say it does record HDMI from xbox, and some say not...

  • @Sniffy92

It will record on Xbox 360 through HDMI because there's no HDCP on it, PS3 does....

  • does this work with windows 7

  • im thinking about getting one of these...is it worth it and how good does your computer have to be

  • @ljohnsonljohnson9423

    READ THE DESCRIPTION.

  • whenever i use hdmi to capture it shows no picture. when i use the av standard quality thats the only time it lets me record. look at my videos to see.

  • @ThExBeAsTeR

Ask your friend GOOGLE about HDCP.

Then again, there is a work around using VHCapture.

  • does it have any noticeable lag/input delay? I've been thinking of getting this to capture Street Fighter matches, since my cheap USB capture box is extremely slow. Would appreciate any input

  • @dwiadmodjo not if you use a splitter

  • does it come with the xbox capatable cords?

  • @Hank62215

    Correct.

  • @playinghalotoday Okay because I was getting one for Christmas lol you advertise this alot but I can use an non HDTV and record but the quality won't be as good correct?

  • nice quality, so do you think this is the best cheap capture card? better than blackmagic and pvr?

  • AverMedia Updated the Software now which lets you record at 40,000kbs instead of the 15,000kbs that the old Software used.

  • @SuperGaz2012

    Good to know.

  • so why do you have to use fraps when recording, why not aver mediacenter? I've heard its something with copyright hows that possible?

  • @VidzOfRandom

You don't have to use Fraps. READ THE DESCRIPTION below the video.

  • @playinghalotoday

You said it limits you to 15,000kbs...Isn't that pretty amazing?

I mean all the trailers i download on the PS3 are 15,000kbs

    1080p YOutube is only 4,000kbs

  • @brendude95

Does the quality of this video look amazing to you?

If so, you might want to see an opthalmologist.

  • @playinghalotoday

Hell i didn't even watch the video in HD, im just saying, 15,000kbs = amazing quality. I don't need to see an opthalmologist, you need to get your numbers correct.

  • @brendude95

Wake the hell up and watch the video in HD. When the footage is recorded at such a low birtate and is then further compressed once uploaded to Youtube it looks like GARBAGE with artifacts and heavy blocking.

    READ THE DESCRIPTION.

    Moron.

  • @brendude95 Either way, you will want to use a 3rd party program. Aver Media Center does not record any HDCP protected content (which means anything at all through HDMI on PS3).

  • Good vid and quality but would of been better if it was online not in a privite match

  • @Tru3VeteraVIP

Picture quality will NOT change from public/private to local/online gameplay.

  • hi mate im getting a capture card but what else do i need. so all i need is a capture card nothing else plzz help and how do u set it up help

  • @10xmelih

    GOOGLE is your friend.

  • i need help! :D do i need a good PC for the capture card? i have one thats 4-5 years old, but i can still play MW2. please help me :) thank you!

  • @mathiasclausen17

READ THE DESCRIPTION for the Minimum System Requirements.

  • @playinghalotoday Do you think it would work with a Intel Core 2 Duo e4400 2,00 GHz?

  • @mathiasclausen17 one word Y E S !!!!

  • I play on a monitor connected to xbox with an hdmi am i able to record?

  • what is up with this? the sound comes first on my laptop. oh and also the average fps is 60

  • So is this good for recording xbox 360 gameplay or no? And do I have to use FRAPS?

  • what were ur settomgs?

  • how can i use this with my xbox to play on my computer screen without lag?

  • @Xslayking124X

Would it NOT be smarter, let alone cheaper, to simply use a VGA or HDMI cable or DVI adapter if you want to use your Xbox 360 on a computer screen?

  • @playinghalotoday yeah but i would like to record with the avermedia hddvr while i am playing on my pc screen...

  • @playinghalotoday so you would need fraps to get best quality and stuff, and after u finish recording it just saves it on a file to your computer? please reply....

  • @Lemzoiid

You just answered your own question

  • @playinghalotoday and how much does this cost

  • @Lemzoiid

There is CLEARLY a link in the TEXT DESCRIPTION section below the video.

  • @playinghalotoday so would you recommend this

  • when im using fraps, what fps should i use? and should i use "full-size" or "half-size"?

  • @SpeedyKlaxton07 hmm , Send me specs of ur pc ?

  • @SpeedyKlaxton07 Depends on your PC and the game you're playing. It shouldn't matter if you are splitting to a TV but MW2 runs over 30 fps so for best results you should record higher than 30 fps. I think 45 is average for MW2 but check for each game. If you can record full size with no loss then by all means go for it.

  • so let me get this straight, this video that is above ^ was captured with the AVerTV software not Fraps right? but with fraps you can have way bettter quality than this ^?

  • @SpeedyKlaxton07

    CORRECT.

  • @playinghalotoday ok thank you very much

  • @playinghalotoday when I use the aver media center to capture mw2, it always says it cannot be recorded because the content is protected. am i doing something wrong?

  • @Austin17070

A quick glance at the included instruction manual would tell you that HDCP content cannot be recorded directly using HDMI. There are workarounds, such as the VHCapture program or simply using Component VIdeo.

  • What the hell!!!?

What is with all these artefacts!!?

Man, reminds me of that piece of s**t Hava "HD"

  • @playman350

As clearly outlined in the description, the OEM software caps the bitrate. However, since then people has figured out that you can use other programs to capture the footage. It doesn't help YOU to NOT read the description before posting a comment.

  • @playinghalotoday

I did read the description for your information, before posting my comment.

    Pretty shocking artefacts though O_O

  • @playman350

You asked what was with the artifacts and then post a second time claiming to have read the description before having posted said question. The answer to why there are artifacts and blocking in the video footage are clearly listed in the video's description. Along with a solution to prevent such degradation.

    DOUBLE FAIL.

  • why do i get a blue screen when capturing my video the sound work perfect but the video is blue my three prone (composites or what its called) work perfect to the video and all its just the Components (Yr stuff) pleeeaase help

  • wait so you can only record if you play on an pc monitor??

  • @ToyyxSoldiers no.... u can split the signal using a splitter, look it up on google or even youtube. either a hdmi splitter or an analog splitter.

  • Hey i want to get this capture card and i heard that it works really well with Flash Media Encoder. I usually would use it to stream videos from my xbox 360. You think i should get it?

  • @IvsnakevI

We think YOU should make your own decision based on needs, budget, system setup, etc... Good luck.

  • nive video ! .

1: what is the best tv full hd capture card ?

2- what is the best full hd video capture card ?

    * note I will buy two capture card for my PC so I can watch & record TV satellite + watch & record game console ! is that possible ?

    thank you

    I have USB 3.0 and sata 6G

  • i use this for my MW2 vids go check how it looks if you like

  • hd = orgasam

  • sooo you cannot record on a mac at all?

  • can u play in hd while recording with this capture card?

  • @pmgitsdaniel

uh... Look at your monitor while recording.

  • Comment removed

  • dude when i hit record it says i cant record cause content is protected

  • @ixFaTaLiTyHD

    That's called HDCP.

  • @playinghalotoday

    Ok.. Whats that?

    It says :

This program is protected and content cant be recorded. Im using same cap card as you, plz help

  • @ixFaTaLiTyHD

You just answered your own question.

  • Does this hardware work with an Mac running an i7 chipset?

  • @CJMilsey

There are no MAC drivers, as you are clearly made aware of in the description..

  • HD PVR Teh Best!

  • can you just connect a ps3 to a pc and just play without recording, using your pc as a hd screen? (so you wont have to buy a hdmi monitor)

  • @Runermanyoyo

Using component video, but not HDMI because of HDCP.

  • What are you using, HDMI, or Component to capture this video.

  • Got it to work, I wouldn't recommend playing from the pc. I felt a small Delay.

  • Hey Playinghalo, i got a question. I just bought this cap card but using fraps or just using the actual avermedia software, it lags. what should i do?

  • Hello, Can i record with the HD PVR on my pc monitor? i have an vga hd cable so i can play xbox 360 on my pc monitor? or do i have to have an Tv?

  • @Lewel3atm sorry about dont answer

  • Can you only watch TV, HDTV or S-Video without capturing or recording anything on your computer with this card? Like a normal tv tuner? or this is only for recording?

  • @MasterSayien

Pretty much, if you are NOT recording, you are merely watching. Just don't press the record button.

  • what 3rd party program do you use?

  • This works with the white PCI-e, right?

  • @SuperMeltedGamer

The smallest PCI-e slot is the x1, which this product is designed to use. You can also use any of the larger slots such as x4, x8, or x16. Good luck.

  • But does it only work with the black colored one because I only have white slots.

(Some guy told me that it would only work on the black slots)

  • @SuperMeltedGamer

It does NOT matter as it's the exact same PCI-e x1 slot. It is a dual-purpose slot for your audio riser card, or regular PCI-E 1x cards.

  • hey guy,i used avermedia 727 with xbox-360 using HDMI is OK,but with PS3 does not display anything sign through Avermedia software (1.7.3 version and 1.12.64.2 Driver)

am using vista 64bit and three good quality HDMI cables

what shall i do next step to resolve that issue?could u give a litter guide, will be very appreciatly) :O

  • @021kds

Please read the description for the video, as we've already answered this question in detail. PS3 using HDCP over HDMI.

  • Do you think it would run well on my AMD Phenom II X4 925 4x2.8GHz, 4GB Ram, ATI Radeon HD5670 1024MB GDDR5 128 Bit?

  • @DarthRavan2012

That would DEFINITIVELY work :D lolz

  • Nice quality, but its not as good as the Hauppauge. Still good enough though, and it even supports HDMI output! (am i right?) Totally worth the price.

  • There a way to record the HDMI input with a 3rd party software called VH Capture 1.4.6.

Look at my videos to check the quality!

  • @xFuzeR

Once again, whatever you plug into the card will show up within the software on your current screen. There is no need for an additional external display.

  • @TheCallofDutyHelper

As opposed to YOU cursing at complete strangers for your lack of reading the information provided in plain sight. Figures.

    Grow up.

  • @TheCallofDutyHelper

It helps to read the description. The information is provided there for a reason.

Then again, it doesn't help when people do NOT understand how to navigate around Youtube before posting questions that have already been clearly answered..

  • this ?

to do that you have to buy a Magma ExpressBox PCI-e enclosure which costs around $700...

  • Would This capture device work on a laptop ?

  • @OoTinieTempahoO

Asked and answered multiple times, please refer to those answers.

  • How is this a review? -_-

  • @Sakotius

One might consider paying attention to the video so that you know to read the review in the description. Annotations are very helpful.

  • @playinghalotoday Is there a way I could use the Capture card with a 3rd party Cap carding software like AVS Video Recorded or something

  • @th3forty2nd

The Analog filters were recognized in GraphEdit, but the filter(s) for the HDMI feed were NOT found. So even if you were to createa graph, you would be limited to the Analog Connections (Component, S-video, Composite).

As already stated, if you are going to use this, it would be best to screen capture the output with a 3rd party program.

  • @playinghalotoday If you read what I wrote earlier I was asking if it was possible to use with a laptop...to do that you have to buy a Magma ExpressBox PCI-e enclosure which costs around $700...

  • couldnt you just use a diffrent recording software to capture video?

  • Is an Intel Pentium 4 Processor with 1.5GB RAM enough to run it?

    Please Respond

    Thanks,

    IDeSalvo

  • @IDeSalvo For simply using your computer as a HDTV it'll work. For recording, you will need a much faster processor for HD.

  • I just heard somwhere you need a dual core thats about it as far as I know

  • @IDeSalvo No. It needs a Core2Duo 2.4Ghz min,

  • Will this support laptops?

  • @UndeadOnWifi No not without, a special enclosure and a Expresscard adapter would cost you 200-400$.

  • Nope, you'd need some huge piece of hardware called the Magma PCI dock or something, and that costs quite a bit of money, so you'd be better off with a Hauppauge HDPVR for a laptop.

  • which game is that?

  • @Rawrb1063

    modern warfare 2

  • you fail

  • @Rawrb1063 modern warfare 2 cod 6

  • i also saw another video using this which is what i have and he said to use fraps in order to record it..is this what u did? and if u did can you make a video showing how..

  • So, you plug this into your USB slot, and you plug in the other end to the TV, and you can record video games, TV, and put it on youtube?

  • @lilkid91

NOT even close... You might want to read the description.

  • With this, Will I be able to capture ps3 gameplay (over component) in HD while also playing in HD, without any lag?

  • Correct, make sure you set PS3 to 1080i (not 1080P) first.

  • Is there any way you could use this card with a laptop?

  • @cdkee3010

Yes, with a Magma ExpressBox PCI-e enclosure and a empty Expresscard slot.

  • Probably more cost effective to just get a box from Hauppauge eh?

  • @cdkee3010 what box are you talkin bout? i use to use dazzle but since now i use HDMI im looking for a box that has both hdmi input and av output if you could help me out or tell me wat youre talkin bout id appreciate it

  • lol i dont own one but you can probably use just another capture software (not screen capture). like possibly a more new sony vegas? if you can get it working it will be alot better quality

  • OK does this work for a TV...I play in HDMI on my Sony TV so id it does can someone please let me know?

  • @Lildeath55

As clearly explained, it goes inside a computer.

You can easily switch back and forth between your TV and the capture card, or you could get a powered / manual switch (splitter).

  • Where can i get one of them . what do i need aswell as the capture card if i have HDMI

  • @PS3Unlocked

One might consider reading the description adjacent to the video.

  • ok,i got the card i play on ps3 tho :| ...i know u gota use fraps but do u have to use fraps while ur playing?? it lags me like mad... i use my tv for both my pc and ps3.. i was trying playing the game right off avermediacenter and recording fraps at the same time..do i need an hdmi splitter or something to play in on my regular tv and not the media center itself and still record and play without lag?? thanks

  • @d34thbl00m5

NOT sure what you expect from splitting the HDMI singal, as you are still going to be viewing / recording from your computer regardless of whether or NOT you are splitting the HDMI cable to an additional display.

If your computer is having issues when recording using FRAPS, then maybe you need to adjust the recording settings to NOT overwork your computer's harddrive writing speed, video card, etc..

  • Do these cards rely on the PC's graphics card to process the picture via HDMI?

  • @ltdedition

There is no hardware encoding on the card as it relies on the included software to encode the video on your computer..

Regardless, if you are going to record any content, you are best off using a 3rd party screen apture program with the AVER software set to full-screen.

As already explained, the AVER software limits you to th a less than desirable bitrate cap that leads to artifacts and severe blocking of recorded HD content.

  • Thanks for the response mate. Appreciate it. I bought one of these and am using FRAPS. Except I drop a heap of frames when viewing full screen let alone recording. I thought It might be my video card to blame

  • MPC Transport T1300e

  • Hi there do i have to purchase this item even tho my laptop has a built in hdmi port?

  • @danbagley21

An HDMI port on a laptop is an output.

  • Can I use this on my laptop?

  • @roakfurt

Hmm, "my laptop", that narrows it down to just about anything.

As stated in the description, there are external PCI-e card enclosures, such as the Magma Expressbox, that can work in conjunction with an ExpressCard slot on a laptop.

  • no u should put this vid in sony vegas

and then convert it into 1080p

  • i will tell u how to

  • They now have drivers for win7 x64 so if you are looking to buy a cheap card for HD capture this is the way to go. The bitrate issue can be worked around by buying a screen recorder such as frapps or hypercam. Even with the purchase of Frapps (which i believe is 40 dollars) this is cheaper than any other HD capture solution and with Frapps you can then record very high quality PC games so you get 2 recorders for half the price of other HD capture cards

  • stupid question but, can you use a hd pvr on a standard definition tv?

  • @TheKuBreeze

It helps to read the description...

"There is NO additional output for an external display."

  • yes, with a standard def TV (which i have) you can switch your xbox to HD, i know what your thinking " it doesn't work " but turn it to 1080i and then flip the switch it will restart and be HD and then you can flip the size back to standard (looks better on standard TV)

  • @ChaosRageX

The mimimum system requirements are listed in the text field next to the video.

  • is there an actual HD capture card which works with windows 7 64bit? as i havent found 1 yet :( . any1 know?

  • @wush786

The Aver HD PVR is compatible with Windows 7.

  • yes but from what others are saying that it works with windows 7 32bit but not windows 7 64 bit
