i have the 09' cross comp, got it for free as a sponsorship, i had the same question. This bike definatly makes a great racing bike. I took the 30in nobby tires for summer for road races. I got some kevlar tires for it and it runs like a beauty (if u wanna take it road definatly invest the $60 for the tires). Im pretty sure this bike runs the shimano 105 (mine runs that). No big problems with it, rear derailer dosent like the low gears, but with that deraiuler its a simple minimum adjustment.

Is this only a racing bike, or could you put panniers on it and tour with it??
