I am new to dinojr, but it seems like, so far, Beyond has been their best album....am I just misguided or does the lead guitarist need to be taking a JimmyPage/JimiHendrix (dominant) role in every song this band puts out. he IS the band....the vocals are replacable, his solos are not

Beyond was a great album, but so was "withouth a sound" and "where you been".

I would disagree that the vocals are replaceable. J's vocals add that perfect sincere quality to the songs. I have been a fan of Jay and Dino since the early 90s and I have always loved his guitar playing AND vocals, most of all he writes incredible songs. He embodies the very definition of longevity in modern music.

I don't know I think Almost Ready and We're Not Alone are fantastic. I can't wait to see them. Pretty pumped for the Meat Puppets CD coming out in June too.
