  • So I gather the key will then be fitted to the back of some kind of plate, and placed through the back of a wall?

  • It's also a good practice to have the cable actually in the keystone about 1/8' to 1/4", not just butted up against the edge. The least amount of unexposed wire the better off you are.

  • @DiabetikCrysis88 Correct! Thank you for sharing your comment. Keep yourself up to date with the latest in technology by following us on Twitter, Blogger, Facebook, and Thanks For Making The Connection with ABItronix!

  • Helped a lot. Thanks!

  • the screwdriver trick can be a lil tricky seeing how you can splice the wire if ur not careful and they say to keep the wires twisted as much as possible when putting them into the jack how true is that

  • @KINGJDM7 very great question. yes, you need to be careful not to damage or strip wire when doing this. I personally do not use the screwdriver trick but many do. Usually when working with both CAT5E or CAT6 we tend to keep the twisted pair cable "twisted" up to the base of the Jack. So the only wire at the end that is "untwisted" usually is less then a half an inch long. Thank you for sharing your comment!
