My Aunt's got the base Eddie Bauer Edition (by base, I mean no packages/options) in the 4.0L V6 model (210 hp), 5-speed auto, and AWD with AdvanceTrac

2006+ Explorers are OK but in the V6 versions the 5 Spds reliability isn't too great, but the V8 versions get a 6 Spd which has proven good. Haven't driven the V8 versions of these yrs but I have with a 2008 Sport Trac. Ride was decent & the tranny shifted fine but the power wise, it could've used a bit more umph. I think since 07, Ford should've used the same 3.5L 263 HP V6 from the Edge.
