  • @gallupi1965 You did something with the audio... Slowed it down?

  • @1977BanditTransAM Yup..slowed it down about 3% to get passed YouTube copyright

  • @gallupi1965

I hate that you had to do that... good job though...

  • Dom... just going back thru your archives, love Unchained. One quick question... what kind of mic are you using under the crash your are riding? A Bud Mic? lol sorry could not resist. Anyway, another great job.

  • @Videditor1067 LOL...that would be a Bud Lite Lime mic!

  • No Joke man...you are an inspiration to dude like me. you are slightly older than I (5-6 years), and I am loving what you throw out here. It truly is becoming a lost art form. Today's "music" just doesn't stack up. That's what I dig about you....just no nonsense, straight up rock and roll, and having a blast doing it. We have very similar tastes, HUGE RUSH fan here..... I enjoy the shit out of your vids. Keep 'em coming......

  • The sad part is I can go over to a Justin Bieber video, and it'll have like 10 million views. Gallupi1965 has less than 8k views, what the fuck is wrong with people? It's the shit like that that makes me hang my head in disgust at people. Fuck em', you killed those drums on this song, keep kicking ass bro. This video should have like 50 million views!

  • @larrym5150 LOL!! Thanks!! that comment made my night!!

  • @gallupi1965 oh oh, okay, i knew something was off, just wondering what hi hat cymbals do you have?

  • @MonroeRCK1 Hi-Hats are 14" Sabian AA's

  • sympa..bon son..et très bien fait....very good drummer...

  • @gallupi1965 is it slower or is it just me :P

  • @MonroeRCK1 I had to slow it down about 3% to get it past the copyright screening otherwise they wouldn't let me post it.

  • fantastik! good drum ;D

  • Love snare's sound. Brutal!!!! Simple drum kit, great song and great rhythim. Congratulations.

  • Awesome

  • thanks for not killing the song. great job staying true to the tune. i played in a few cover bands. never stayed with them too long once they started saying "we like to put our own spin on the music" i always said then go write originals. anyone can put their own spin on a tune {laziness} what impresses me is like what you did with this song. takes more work. alex would be proud. keep up the great work.

  • lovin 1.09 :P

  • what kind of Pearl kit is that

  • You could very easily be in an extremely well done cover band. :)

  • Great Work!! and Awesome drumming!!. I have been trying to get this song right for a few days now. I was having a hard time time trying to figure out what the drum layout was for the bridge ( the part that leads in to the chorus). After watching this, you showed me the way it is suppose to be. Thanks and keep up the AWESOME DRUMMING!!

  • try to understand and remember this minor flaw. in the begining, after the snare roll w/ cresendo, alex van halen enters on hi-hat, not crash. although the rest u did quite superb. im truely impressed with your drumming talents. keep up the good work.

  • I've watched a couple of your vids now and all I can say is wow! Some of the best replications I've ever seen on here. I think roguehk hit the nail on the head with his/her comments. Great player! You're not beating the drums into submission you're actually playing them as an instrument and that is what makes your performance so impressive. Do you take requests?

  • awesome

  • Great job! Kit sounds great too!

  • Rock solid, pocket drumming. Too many guys on YT throw every chop they know into the mix, hoping to impress everyone. THIS guy understands how to play drums (and you're probably getting all the work, too!). Nice job.

  • @roguehk thanks for the compliment. I aim to stay true to the song and how the original drummer plays it. Sometimes I'll miss a few things here and there but i rarely throw in my own stuff.....probably because my own stuff isn't that good LOL.

  • Great cover, great sound, awesome song !

  • Not bad......still a little rough around the edges......let the power of Roth-Halen flow through your veins like gasoline......feel the fury in this song

  • great job = great drummer ;-) it seems to be so easy... nice! maybe you´ll check out my version of "jump" from van halen. have a nice time

  • @Philuminator thanks Phil, i tried to post your 'JUMP' cover in the video responses but it didn't work. If you send it to me again i'll try and repost.

  • GREAT job man! sounded professional. i have to learn this song on drums and just watching your video helped a lot! the video quality, the sound quality, and most importantly the drumming quality were all amazing!

  • @NickW0608 Thanks Nick. I appreciate the kind words.

  • @gallupi1965 It's Not It Tuneeee!! The WRONG Key haha

  • Fantastic job. You make it look easy!

  • Great job on this song, Dom!

    Love it!

    Tim

  • Excellent playing. You got the sound snare sound as Alex.

  • @rhythmantic Thanks Sal! I took the Moongel off the snare head for this one. Tried to get a nice open sound.

  • Great job Dom... Question for you, what do you use on your cymbals - what do you wipe them down with?

  • @FL50DRUMR I use a product called Groove Juice. It comes in a white spray bottle. Just spray it on, wait 30 seconds and rinse it off. They say you don't need to scrub, but I've never been one to follow directions. Watch out for the cymbal logos though...it'll wipe them clean off.

  • I'm a drummer in a Van Halen cover band; I was having a bit of trouble with the change and you totally clarified it for me THANK YOU. It was a bit enigmatic for me until I watched you do it. Always learning something new... keep drumming! cheers!

  • I did this song too. nice job!

  • Thats a pretty drum set

  • Nice playing

  • whats the cymbal to the left of your ride i love it. it kinda looks like a k custom hybrid but i dont know

  • @chrisx8x23x95 i don't know what it is ....all i know is that's it's a Sabian

  • @gallupi1965 lol ok thanks anyway great cover

  • is the mic between the floor toms picking up the ride as well?

  • @kuhboom22 I don't like my cymbals very loud. I usually let the cymbals bleed through the drum mics. Sometimes I'll use a condenser mic overhead to pick up the ride bell...but I'll have it turned down low in the mix so it doesn't pick up the rest of the kit and the song that I'm playing through the speakers (I hate wearing headphones). I have alot of ambient noise in the room too that I don't want to pick up...(old clunker beer fridge and furnace that you can't see in the video).

  • awesome man!!!! great job

  • perfect in every way, great job!

  • love your snare sound, great job

  • Well played!!!! how did u get this posted? All my V.H. got pulled!

  • great!

  • Good job! Nice snare sound!

  • Great job

  • This rocks!!!
