Very informative video. I have the Flip and I love it. The advantage of AA batteries is they are available EVERYWHERE! US, UK, Asia, Australia, big cities, tiny towns. I buy the lithium type in bulk. You can also use the rechargeable AA's. The AVI files import into iMovie (Mac) and Windows MovieMaker.

in my opinion i think the vado is the best because 1.its cheaper 2.bigger screen 3. thiner 4. it doesn use batteries and 5.u can plug it in your laptop easy because its thinner

i have noticed the sound quality is better on the FlipVideo. I have one, but not the HD one, and might look to get a new one. I heard really good things about the Vado, but the sound quality doesn't sound as good as the Flip

the vado has a more beautiful design but the flip ultra is much more ugly... from first impression i would prefer to buy the vado.. but since after this video the flip ultra stand out better..

Rofl. If you are going for quality and not portability why wouldn't you just buy a regular video camera instead of the Flip.

Vado is better in my opinion. Quality isn't very good, but hey who said HD quality turns out good on youtubes piece of crap quality?

Plus, its real small, and has a bigger screen.

Oh, and did I mention its like $50 cheaper.

It's still a video camera, so the video and audio quality is the most important aspect. You are on Youtube, so you can see that even here the difference in quality is quite big. The Vado seems to be rather useless for videos with sound, you can't really understand anything someone is saying. That makes it even worse for Youtube. (Look for the review by Dr Ashen, it's even more obvious there.)

Rofl. You guys must not know how to edit videos. Just use Sony Vegas or Camtasia Studio 5 and amp up the sound a little. You can also make the picture much sharper and clearer. Dr. Ashen, who you directed me too says if you upload straight to youtube, you don't deserve to have a video camera or be able to breath. I strongly agree with Ashen so basically you are a Mac user who needs everything crap quality, but simple.

@okee9 It's a pro and a con. i bought the Sanyo VPC CG10 with a memory card slot it's nice because i just slip it in my computer but you have to buy it separate!

yea, you could really see the quality difference with the flip. however i think the vado is gonna do better because its slimmer and cheaper, because when it comes to low-medium quality recording, i think size and cheap pricing will be more important. to get good quality recordings, i would rather get a full fledge quality camcorder.

well i still think the creative was too poor to use, you could actually not really see the colors and the audio was just too poor.

on the other hand, who would walk around with a giant thing in your pocket?

i would just spend some more bucks on an expensive phone :P
