Ok. We will move on to this passage. Malachi 3 and 4 are a reference to the first coming of Christ and to John the Baptist. John the Baptist is obviously Elijah as referenced in Malachi. @jebeja Please read Romans....especially from Romans 9 forward. Those that have been true Israel are they which are of faith, Isaac, the promised son. This is also true in the OT. Do not stumble at the same thing that they did. The Jews thought that it was all about the physical birth lineage but circumcision has always been something of the heart that makes you of the house of Israel. Please don't forget that Jesus isn't a Christian (Gentile). He's a Jew. The reason that God even had the Gospel proclaimed to the Gentiles was to make Jews jealous so that they would understand what they were missing out on. @cbasallie I have thought about it - for 40 years. When John wrote Revelation, Rome was in power... "one now is." However, when Rome fell, it didn't fall to an army. It fell into the hands of a priestly order which evolved into The Roman Catholic Church. There was Pagan Rome, then it became Papal Rome, which is the Catholic Church.
People need to remember something. The whore is hated and destroyed by the beast. She is destroyed in a hour's time.

A Jew is one of the heart not of the flesh. The promised land was the spiritual place of full salvation not a physical place. This is all confirmed in Romans and Hebrews. There are a host of problems with the Christian Zionist view. First, the equation of biblical Israel with the modern state of Israel and the Jewish people is problematic. The house of Judah is just part of Israel, and though it may be argued that most modern Jews are the progeny of Israel, but they are clearly not the only ones. There are 10 other tribes that few rarely mention. Some "Jews" are of Kazarian descent. Political alignment with the modern state of Israel is not a biblical idea.

Synagogues of that day were just public gathering places which means that the few times Jesus preached inside a synagogue did not signify jewishness. Remember also that Jesus was a direct descendant of Abraham and through Jesus the whole world was truly blessed. Ok. We will move on to this passage. Malachi 3 and 4 are a reference to the first coming of Christ and to John the Baptist. John the Baptist is obviously Elijah as referenced in Malachi. The spiritual application to Israel is to the Church of the NT. Read Romans 9. Israel is those that are of faith. This is the NT Church. I honestly do not know if this is directed at me or someone else. AIDS is not the wrath of God. Many diseases have killed human beings over the course of history, some are innocent children.
