"kirin" the dog is not being punished, or degraded, the "kirin" (the dog) is simply catching the watch stream horazontaly, notice the water does not go directly to kirin's face for n e means of degration or punishment, another form of "frizz bee catching"

I think he sees it as cruel because the dog looked so frightened and went into a crouched, defensive position. The dog was obviously, and yes, surprisingly scared. They usually love that stuff
