The First Law of Thermo states that if energy is added or removed to/from a system to bring it in an other condition, the same amount of energy must be reversed to restore the original condition. Would there be any difference, then energy could come our of, or disappear into nothing - a consequence of the First Law, not the law itself!

How important it is to know this difference, shows by all those who believe Hydrogen is an energy source - it is not!
