Chud: You are so right!!!!! Steel Pulse is one of the greatest bands ever. They rival if not top the Wailers. And the guys are still rocking. Most underrated band is so so true. The public has no idea what a great reggae band is.

@rd11210 They are indeed one of the best reggae groups and for me the best group live. The most amazing thing is that all of dem can sing. The vocal harmonies are really complez and the drum patterns are really different from the classical one drop. They are always innovating so thats why they are always getting better.

They are certainly under-rated in their own country: England....You hardly ever hear a SP tune on the airwaves here in London....but they are certainly huge in the USA, certain parts of Europe ie France, Holland....the Caribbean/Central America......It could be that they peaked quite early in the UK ie, late 70's/early 80's.....with hits like Ku Klux Klan, Soldiers, Ravers.....they have also toured the USA most summers which have gained a wider audience.

I seen them in Montego Bay at Reggae Sunslash 88 I beleive. They were fantastic, even sang this song. David is a great frontman the band is IRIE!! Jah Bless them

I also saw them in MoBay at Reggae Sunsplash way back in 85, and also in the U.S. In 1985 MoBay was experiencing such a rainy season; the outdoor concert field was soaked So much so, Sunsplash was nicknamed "MUDSPLASH" by the locals with cardboard boxes (REGGAE BED) being sold by the hundreds. That didn't stop everyone from dancing all the way into early dawn wee morning hours of the rising sun; then appearing on stage live and in full effect came Steel Pulse - It was ELECTRIFYING!

@chud89 they are amazing but I wouldn't call them underrated. They are one of the most world renowned reggae acts still around today. They definitely get the recognition that they deserve. Didn't mean to sound argumentitive but I hear the word underrated used a lot when the truth is that most bands that are described in that manner are just not successful in terms of top 40 pop music. Either way, steel pulse is amazing and we can only hope to have them around for a lot longer.

I saw a DVD of these guys once and in the middle of one of the songs they gradually slowed down and came to a stop. Then they gradually picked it back up. It just blew me away. Of course I was high at the time and it was during the day, I almost never get high when it's day time.
