  • this album was released in 1980 and shot straight to #1........31 years later this is still my favourite album......too bad Gary Numan did not come to Malaysia for a concert.....

  • @tonyquek1 Too bad man not grace us with his presence in US either? I am told he may tour yet?

  • love this song

  • Either one understands this song or you don't. The dark metaphores and symbolisms make this not just the best song on the Telekon album, but a classic in surrealistic rock. Party on Gary !

  • my favorite song on this album...

  • @SweetLovelyBunny Thank You! I did my best x

  • @schmads excuse me?

  • @SweetLovelyBunny This is scary, smacked of a question I would ask.

  • the best track on telekon or my favouríte song on telekon is this wreckage

  • Funny, but this is my favorite track on Telekon...gives the creeps in a most cool way. That being said, Telekon is an excellent album... :)

  • I feel like it's 1980 and it's 8,000pm

  • Gary Numan is a Genius

  • You end on Reel one. You end on Reeel one.

  • @bop517 You end on reel one, you end on reeel one, you are. I've lost my dogs.

  • The TRUE ROCK AND ROLL ....OF..SECRET AGENTS..AND ASSASSINS...EVERYWHWERE..!!!!!! LONG LIVE GARY NUMAN...

  • Gary Numan wrote this song? I'm not surprised. I have loved Gary Numan for so long, and as a lover of his music, he is amazing. I used to listened to an experimental rap/singer who used a voice modifier to mask her feminine voice, to sound like a demon, and now I now SHE COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF HIS TRACK. TOTALLY!! THIS IS WHY I LOVED SPORTS SO MUCH. IT WAS ALL A LIE. I LOVE YOU GARY NUMAN FOREVER. YOU ARE SO WEIRD LIKE ME AND YOU LIVE IN MY HEART FOREVER TRANSCENDING TIME AND SPACE!!!!!!

  • gary numan was part of new wave, but in a subdivision known as techno music or just techno........as he and others like a flock of seagulls and other bands of new wave were using synthetizers to play music.........good enough i am fan of gary numan

  • @udaraboy keep in mind electonic music or techno from the 80's is not the stuff of today, they more commonly refer to Numan and Flock of seagulls as "synth pop"

  • @Taud dear taud, must say i had it from someone who bought it ( telekon ) in 1980, so it is not hot stuff coming out of the oven , but it is good enough anytime you hear it and sounds best than many of today pop music " heroes " so i keep being fan of gary until the world stays

on the other hand must check pop music history never known as synth pop, at least in europe must remember states is comercial no like europe where i live. and new wave came after new romanticas and before that punk

  • @Taud SYNTH POP NEVER EXISTED IN EUROPE LIKE DEVO, S.S.Q., SOFT CELL COULD BE IN THAT " line ". but new wave came after punk , post punk dark wave and new wave with duran.duran, a flock, depeche mode, the cure, moden english, information society, inxs u2 nena, big country, indochine and thousands more to recall, beside rock pop, billy joel, foreigner etc or hard rock with pat benatar or heavy with judas priest, ozzy osbourne etc the history was made not only in america, or mtv bon chance

  • @udaraboy uhhhm... wtf? i didnt say anything about any of that other crap i dunno where youre coming from on that

  • "No concentration means 'fail' these days"

Great example of university life today.

  • My favourite along with I dream of wires, Numan was brilliant. Been a fan since I was13, still am, and still listen to his first 4 albums, couldn't live without them.

  • Gary Numan transcends..."new wave"....his music is both ...Art and Rock and Roll...

  • This song is awfully addicting.

  • muy buen musico!!!!!!!!!!!!mexico,,,

  • This is a very dark album, very discordant with lyrics which express discontentment.

Numan is brilliant,I love Pleasure principle but really likie his new stuff with Ade Fenton to.

Amazing catalogue of music he has created.

  • One of the best albums of my youth...I was sick to death of disco, and top 40 music here in Ohio...This album was DARK...I drove my old GF batty playing it over and over...This was an excellent companion to Replicas and PP...Still sounds as edgy today as back 30 years ago...

  • @Dyer129T could not agree more

  • Quality track from a quality album. Love it!

  • this is real pop music... not like the music nowdays..full of shit....replicas/pleasure principle/telekon....should be in the 1000 must listen album before you die...check it out....

  • @tonyquek1 gary numan is one of the greats of early new wave truly a great .

  • just class,it works for me

  • we are are.. ...

  • oh, the beautiful strange dark world of Telekon...

  • SAME...

  • This guy, should have bin as big as bowie..and in most ways he was.Top artist...get to know were he's comin' from and ENJOY !!

  • @garygodsqwad heck yeah.

  • future spy

  • This track is a pure genius of Numans work,Chris Paynes Haunting solo piano is class! ...shame no new groups listen to this..

  • effin good song and anyone who dont like it they can f off eh

  • when he wrote these songs during the telekon 1979-1980 period......i can only gasp at the lyrics . and the music takes me away

  • it reminds me my dog

  • Outstanding

  • Ghetto Fab Delish

  • Telekon is just the best work Numan has done its still fresh even now,it was the first album I bought its just fantastic work

  • Its one of the best albums about!! such ashame that todays acts lack imagination :(

  • nary guman

  • this is my fav song on this album and i dont know why but i do

  • This man writes my music.

  • It's hard to surmise where he's going lyrically on some of these songs, but the same old mistrust is here, very hypnotic track though, jaded is what he is but not uncaring he mkes time for humour with the line'My dog runs A-WOL, I blame you all',being paranoid is sometimes funny, you're way ahead of the game, even if it's your own.

  • this is very good even if it is different it is still way cool yea man cool

  • The only track from the album I dislike.

  • His best work, defaintly.

  • "The recurring motif you end on reel one was shockingly appropriate to what Martin was going through. The starkness of the music complemented the atmosphere in his room as he beavered away in a successful effort to catch up on his work and a vain effort to put Fiona out of his mind."

  • Numan takes a big leap in sophistication with the compositions on this album. The use of atonal expressionistic piano flourishes on this song is brilliant. The whole thing is quite ingeniously designed.

  • @psychicwhoosh

Yeah, very crafty. I agree completely, I also like that the track has dieahrd haters and equally devoted lovers, no middle ground.

Such a nicely distinctive recording that contrast well to the entirely different Yellow Magic Orchestra, another group of people (this time from Japan) that most Americans never really cared about.

    Crazy.

  • Is that the Yamaha CS-80 I'm hearing? :o)

  • He always made dark cold elektro musc

    Love this man

  • I don't know what you people are talking about, we play this music at parties all the time! GARY NUMAN YOU FUCKING RULE!

    Oscillators.

  • And the occasional LFO.

  • Cool! Never thought i could get away with Gary Numan for party music!

  • i leave the table saying i am real

  • " it's good for listening...i couldnt picture songs like this play at a part. people would get bored...

I need protection from the likes of you.

  • LOL

  • You end on reel one

    You end on reel one

  • not party stuff , but great tunes

  • Its not meant to be party stuff, his music is too good for that anyway!!

  • it's good for listening...i couldnt picture songs like this playing at a party.people would get bored...

  • One of the best records ever to be made, still to this day

  • favriote title of track of any GN album.

  • It Reminds me Ian Curtis or Peter Murphy.

    Gary Numan is Great!

  • all these years and i thought. "my dog runs Absent Without Official Leave" was, If i come from ZERO. HeHe

  • doesn't awol stand for absent without leave, the 'official' part would be unnecessary

  • I get your question!.

  • good?

  • This album totally blows Pure and Jagged away, don't see how anyone can compare them and say they are better than Telekon.

  • Pure was not that bad of an album, it's alright but I don't think it was as good as this.

  • one of the best title tracks to an album of his.

  • garys best ever track.garys best ever album.
