  • rip Aquarama, could atleast have saved the sail bridge, kinda reminds me of a soviet submarine :P

  • My family traveled on it each summer. Shuffle Board, restaurants, sun, wind, just a lot of fun! She ran from Detroit to Cleveland in one day.

  • lovely styled ship, cant understand, that they cant preserve, some of these works of art.

  • She was moored in Buffalo for almost 10 years. Some company with no knowledge of ships bought her from her previous owners with the intent of converting her to a floating casino. They never could raise the money so she sat there and rotted away in Buffalo. There were efforts made to convert her to a museum.

  • Such an ugly ship and yet beutifull in her uglyness.....Pitty she wasn't preserved

  • Nice job! -Mark Howell, filmmaker, "The Milwaukee Clipper: A Legend Saved".

(you can find my Clipper program by searching youtube)

  • I love the way you edit these works of art--the beauty, the working life, the loss of status, the decay, the last voyage, etc... By the end we're getting about ready to bust out cryin' at the disrespect of these wonderful ships...or, perhaps, is it at the story of everyman?...Good stuff, Captain!

  • @AncientLunnGadfly hello, thanks, sorry for not uploading my newer video my computer has been down.

    Best Regards

  • Great video of a very unique ship. Sad to think she was laid up for so long :(

  • This ship has a funnel like the Normandie... Is "half Normandie" lol.

  • @Vessel87 haha, yup looks just like the Normadies funnel however the structure is actually her bridge and was made to look streamlined, her funnel is actually at the aft. Hope You Enjoyed!

  • @Vessel87 Normandies^

  • the ship was very unique i've never seen one quite like the aquarama, was her funnel also the bridge?

  • yes, very unique, actually her bridge was made to look like a funnel, her actual funnel was at the rear, and can be seen at :25.

  • when you think of it its rather sad she spent almost 90% of her life just sitting

  • wow, now that is sad, the ship didn't see much service then,

so for how many years was the ship lying forgotton?

  • in the end she spent a total of 54 years out of her 62yrs of life, very sad ending being chained down, in a back harbor for almost her entire life span.
