@SashkaKingCobra1 RE: What program do you need for an ir pen? Smoothboard is the best, but there are also free ones, like uweschmidt or the early version of smoothboard is available on wiimoteproject. I am planning a coffee house show where I will actually project the image all the way across a street and onto the side of another building. The image should be 10 feet tall, projected from 30 feet away, but I will be holding the pen at only about 4 feet away and using it's shadow to calibrate and aim. It should be most epic!!
not really the most you can hold it is a few inches away, i would like to estimate about 2". even then, the software sometimes recognizes two sources of infrared because 1 comes from the pen and one from the reflection on the screen. there are more bugs if you hold it a distance but you don't actually have to touch the screen.
@AirsoftAgents First you need a wii remote, than you need a bluetooth and a inferred pen and a program on your computer called smoothboard. It also works great with projectors, you can basically turn any surface into a smart board with smoothboard and a wii remote.
Not at all. You can't use laser pen with wiimote. This video show a IR pen. But at this time you can't buy nice IR pen, so I've buy a laser pen, and have replace the laser diode by a IR diode.
@Shakespeare1612 hahahahah, nice, i bought one her in brazil for about 8 dollars, comes with laser, ultra violet light and Led. all works, Ok, IR is other quality, but this is ok. Good work on the replys
@eeezb lol when i first quickly read this, i thought it said "is this mean that laser PENIS more accurate than LED pen? cool" haha, i was like WTF!?!?!?!?
Well done ;-) Now you can really "sign" directly on your screen... until you don't press it too hard... :-p. Now, could you explain a little bit how you did ? :-)
That he does! I idolize smart people :)

does anyone know how to get permanent power to the wiimote?
warlockboyburns 2 years ago
If touching the screen is an issue, some people put a 2mm acrylic sheet on the screen to protect it. Not this project but a similar one :)
