  • Just to let you know dude Bill Monroe is still alive.

  • I LOVE THIS!! It is great to see the final resting places of folks we loved to hear sing! Thanks for doing this! Don't let the grouches get you down! LOVE THE TROLLEY!!!

  • Nice video. i think even if ur not a big fan i think the video is cool

  • @MEGATRON9090 Thank you, MEGATRON9090. I knew that such a video as this had not been done so I did one and to date this one has over 70,000 views. It's amusing all these asinine dictatorial yahoos who think one must be a "fan" of someone to show others their final resting place.

  • If your no fan of country music don't try to take on something you don't like nor do we need you to be our tour guide if you are not a fan... Nervy I would say, get up there and say your no fan but your stepping all over the people we admire in Country music...my opinion....

  • @Scarlettisreal Yes, that is your opinion which is absolutely worthless to me.

  • I been to Merle Kilgore'sgrave in Hendersonville Tennessee Johnny an June and the Carter family are buried there together.

  • I think Lorrie is George Morgan's daughter. Anyway, I appreciate this fellow taking the time to do this, it doesn't matter if he follows the music or not. It was interesting to see the graves.

  • Lorrie Morgan is Bill Monroe's daughter who was married to Keith Whitley who drank himself to death at a very young age. Whitley's best know song was "When You Say Nothing at All".

  • Very poorly done...just the mere fact that you had no idea who Mr. Kilgore was....really badly done.

  • The Bill Monroe who was the Father of Bluegrass music is dead, but he was buried in his hometown, Rosine, Kentucky.

  • Floyd Cramer was a famous piano player. He never sang. His most famous hit song was "The Last Date".

  • thanks for the post--- it is important however, keep arms and legs inside the trolley at all times. That is precious!!!!!!

  • You admitted not being a fan of country, which probably explains why you called Floyd Cramer a 'Crooner'. He didn't sing, at all, but was a master on the piano.

  • i going to say it again why do this video if you don't know who jimmy martin, was, as for mr. kilgoire, if know anything about hank willims sr or hank jr. you should know who merle was, this whole video is a joke sorry sunkengrave. get mad if you want you should not have done this , simply put you not a big enough fan of real country music, or the stars that made it what it was ,

  • @bluegrassman776 Well I'm not mad in the least, bluegrassman, but it sounds as if you have an issue or two that goes beyond the bounds of normalcy. You ask why do such a video if I don't know Jimmy Martin? The answer is simple; It is because no one else has done it. I never knew it was a prerequisite to be a fan of someone in order to show others their final resting place. I think every cemetery tour in the country would need to close shop if such were the case.

  • @bluegrassman776 Very poorly done. He overlooks the other Carters that are buried near Mother Maybelle, he has NO idea who Mr. Kilgore was...I can go on and on....why did he even bother making these videos??

  • I aways wonder what would the dead tell tell the livining?

  • YES BILL MONROE IS DEAD JAMES MONROE WAS SON BILL IS BURIED IN KY IF IM NOT MISTAKIN

  • ... You do not know who Merle Kilgore is????? This is a f'ing joke , please I mean this respectfully ... you put this on here and do not know who Jimmy Martin is . This is very disrespectfull ... John Hartford gave me his autograph in Kinko's and was nice and we talked ... this is unreal ... is this a joke , really ... right , a joke ?

  • @afegus9 Nope, I had never heard of Merle Kilgore or Jimmy Martin and do you know what, afegus9? I could go to downtown Nashville this very minute and ask 50 people on the street if they have ever heard of the names you cite and I gurantee you nine out of ten have never heard of them either. Lived in the Nashville area my entire life and only a handful of people I ever knew listened to Country or even cared about it. Perhaps a joke is someone who actually thinks these are household names.

  • @afegus9 Just because someone hasn't heard of someone doesn't mean they are being disrespectful. Th only joke here is you and that ridiculous post!

  • september 12th is my birthday!!!

  • @mtndew912 Your gay...

  • Merle Kilgore...AKA Wyatt Merle Kilgore (August 9, 1934 – February 6, 2005) was an American singer, songwriter & manager

  • I very much doubt Lorrie Morgan will be burried next to Keith Whitley

  • i thought it was the memory gardens of Hendersonville where Johnny Cash is buried?

  • what's with keep your arms & legs in the trolley.....ist it a joke ?

  • I love cemeteries.Hubby and I go " cemetery" hopping at times.I've seen a few famous graves, esp.the US Presidents. There are two more to see but probably only make it to one more,Ford's in Mich.

  • I enjoyed your video, this was interesting! Thanks!

  • According to Wikipedia, On September 15, 2010, Lorrie Morgan married her sixth husband, Randy White, in a beach side ceremony.

I wonder if she still considers this her final resting place?

  • You don't know who Jimmy martin was? Good Lord!!

  • ps i f you want to find some spooky graves go to Camden, Alabama in Wilcox county it is about 65 miles south west of Montgomery, there is one grave u can see inside the grave the actual bones of the corpse is exposed. I have a video of that. Its the Camden Cemetery. My family is buried in Coy Cemetery about 13 miles south of Camden just off hwy 41 s

  • Bill and Betty Walker was killed on the way to the Grand Ole Opry in a car crash

  • Merle Kilgore is Hank Williams Jr.'s longtime manager who wrote Wolverton Mountain,Ring Of Fire and When You Get On The Whiskey Let Somebody Else Drive to name a few.

  • @scott38829 Merle Kilgore is Merle Haggard...Johnny Cash met him while he was performing at Folson Prison and gave his start in his band.

  • @Lady2SmoothD merle kilgore is not merle haggard. both were well known country musicians. maybe you should check some facts.

  • @Lady2SmoothD Kilgore is the one who stuck with Hank Jr during his unknown years. Haggard is a totally different person.

  • hi like ur videos

  • Loved your video. Thanks for all the work

  • ummm not the Bill Monroe!

  • I noticed Billy Walker and his wife had the same date of death. It seems they and 2 others died in a car crash coming back from a performance late at night. He apparently had a very long (40 yr +) recording career. He also appeared at that same Kansas City benefit at which Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas and Hawkshaw gave their final performances before that plane crash coming home.

  • merle kilgore was june's first husband. wrote ring of fire.

  • Bill Monroe is actually buried in Rosine KY. The name on the marker is actually his son. Very interesting video paying tribute to the stars.

  • great video!

  • and also where is Conway Twitty buried

  • @TimBodie2412 Conway Twitty (Harold Llyod Jenkins) is interred in a mausoleum at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Gallatin, TN.

  • @TheSunkenGrave where is that east middle or west

  • @TimBodie2412 Gallatin is in Middle Tennessee just a short drive Northeast of Nashville.

  • what i dont understand is that Nashville is only the home of country music when my hometown of Bristol Tennessee is the Birthplace of Country music and yet Nashville gets more recognition then Bristol

  • "THE" Bill Monroe, that you were looking for is actually buried in Rosine, Kentucky.

  • @765tony

Cave Hill Cemetery - Louisville, KY.

  • @765tony

Stringbean is buried in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN.

  • @TheSunkenGrave Stringbean is at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Goodletsville, TN. Along with his wife. And there are many other such as Hawkshaw Hawkins and Randy Hughs that were killed with Patsy Cline. I think Cowboy Copas is also there.

  • rockgor, I'm with you. Apparently this guy is just making these videos as an afterthought after some film he was working on fell thru. It's pretty sad when he shows a marker and he doesn't even know if its Bill Monroe or not.

  • Tammy is my very favorite female singer of all time. I am from Patsy Cline's hometown and I have relatives buried in the cemetery Shenandoah Memorial Park, that she is buried.

  • That was an awesome video. Its good to be able to see alot of my country heroes' graves.

    5+

  • Wow i think you did a great job.. Billy Walker was a famous singer he sung the song's My last cigarette.. Tumblin tumbleweed. Now if you all have anything negative. He stated at the first of his video he was not a big fan. Thank's for doing this i really enjoyed it alot...

    eddiecr

  • Bill Monroe is not dead...yet

  • yes bill is dead he died in 1994 r 1996 hes burried up in ky

  • I am now a fan of yours sir!!

  • You honestly never heard of Jimmy Martin?

I didn't realize all the stars are buried around Nashville. If I would've known that I would have visited their graves when I went down there last year.

  • I had never heard of him until I saw his marker but I have never really listened to Bluegrass. ONe will find the greatest concentration of Country Music stars at Spring Hill and Woodlawn cemeterys although other stars can be found in other cemeterys. Chet Atkins, for instance, is in Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens; Sarah Canon is in Mt. Hope in Franklin. Vern Gosdin is at Mount Olivet. Eddie Rabbitt is at Calvary Cemetery.

  • A little research and preparation might have

    improved this video considerably.

  • I am a relative of Johnny Cash's someone in my family is somehow a descendant of the cash family

  • Thanks for the ride....

  • You're quite welcome, declyde69.

  • If you'd searched a little bit more around the Cash/Carter graves, you'd have found the graves of Joe Maphis and his son, Dale. Joe played the double necked guitar and was a great singer/songwriter along with his wife Rose Lee. Thanks for sharing this stuff with those of us who aren't able to go to these places ourselves.

  • You're quite welcome, cmlbob. I found the Cash/Carter graves a couple of years ago and looked for the grave of Sheb Wooley but could not find it. It is not a very large cemetery but it is a "garden cemetery" and the graves really have no distinctions one from the other at eye level. The small wall around the Cash graves is a recent addition which does make it easier to find.

  • Why is this guy doing this if he dont even know who these people are or what they did.. John Hartford was a hell of a fiddle player..

  • Because no one else has done it insofar as I could find and I knew there would at least be some slight interest in such an endeavor.

  • Im sorry you are so right about that, I live in Southern Mo and would love to be able to go to all of those graves and place a red rose, I however am handicapped and cant walk well enough to.. I have always thought a famous grave tour would be cool.. A big bus, and tours to Marie Lavau (sp) Hank Sr., Patsy Cline.. all of them just make a vacation out of it.. That sounds fun to me, does that make me morbid?

  • No, that does not make you morbid in the least to pay tribute to people whose work and lives you admired. Countless millions do it everyday either visiting graves of the famous or admiring the craftsmanship, art and architecture to be found in many older cemeterys. These cemeterys in Nashville expect visitors since they have printed brochures locating many of the graves.

  • A good effort, with a couple of blips. I don't know that Bill Monroe either, but since the stone says he was born in 1941...ain't no way he's the Father of Bluegrass. Floyd Cramer was not a "crooner", either. The piano upon which you commented might have been a clue. He was an accomplished piano player.

  • Subsequent to filming the Bill Monroe portion I learned that Bill Monroe is buried in Kentucky and what is in the video is a Bill Monroe Memorial. I think the marker is for his son who may be buried there at the appropriate time in the future.

  • jerry reed was also in an episode of Scooby Doo. I also have his autograph on a coaster somewhere. I am not very far away from Spring Hill. My father is buried there as well as my aunt and uncle.

  • I'm not that familiar with Spring Hill although my wife's grandfather is buried there and it was the wildest buriel EVER! Not enough character space to tell you what a wild scene it was when her grandfather was buried.

  • Thank you for including Keith's grave at Spring Hill. He's buried near his idol, Lefty Frizzell. RIP, Keith. You live on in all of us.

  • You have a PM concerning Keith Whitley's grave site. Glad you liked the video.

  • Lefty is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville TN, Not in Spring Hill Cemetery close to Keith.

  • Oops, you're right, Jeremy. I forgot.

  • Thats alright

  • I never knew Tammy Wynette was a goner... My mum took me to see her when she visited the UK. I must have been 16 or so. She seemed such a larger than life character.

Mr Johnny Cash is a hero of mine. I love his music.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I never really listened to Johnny Cash but after he died I bought the American IV cd (The Man Comes Around) and thought it was great. I believe one of the Gibb Brothers (BeeGee's) bought his house in Hendersonville but I think it burned down.

  • Enjoyed the tour, and can't wait for Part II!

  • Glad you liked it. Of course, I know next to nothing about these people but I did read a little about most of them. I would love to be a tour guide somewhere.

  • Most of them, I've never heard of. When did you visit the graves? They all have flowers. Is that because they're famous.. cemeteries here usually only get flowered on Memorial Day.

  • I visited the graves yesterday 3/22/09. The cemeterys do not place flowers on any graves but the familys, friends, etc. place flowers on the graves of their loved ones so many graves usually do have flowers year round except perhaps in Winter. The flowers had nothing to do with their fame as some of the famous did not have flowers (Hank Snow, etc.) and many non-famous do have flowers. But flowers are placed on graves all year long by family, friends or admirers.
