Man, 9/11 murders if true(govt story) should all be dead, why arent they called conspirators, they were in same cave, hut whatever while they allegelly talked about attacking the US. This all proves its an inside job with patsies and fallguys, wait an see how much thorizen they have him on in court, wont even know his own name!9Yrs. and the propagagada must go on, they could come out tomorrow and say itwas a inside job and theirs nothing anyone could or will do about it, why? folks are to scaced!
Of course, the answer is they aren't terrorists until you prove in a court of law that they are terrorists. Until then they are simply accused. They are entitled,as are all accused persons to legal counsel and due process. That's the way our Founding Fathers set this country.
And if you don't believe that or can't support that then you aren't much of an American.
If you're so certain they are guilty, then what's the problem with proving it?
Hate the rule of law?Only a dumb idiot doesn't know the difference between the rule of Law,and those who break the law, like terrorists -why they are so well protected?Protecting terrorisrs and gave them cozy spaces and monies and comfort and encouragement and defend for them is a rule of Law?Give me a break!dude!
If you treat the terrorists just like you would a civilian, there is no way in hell that they will be convicted! Any judge who looks at the case and sees they were held without a speedy trial, never given representation, and were tortured: by the way I do support waterboarding.
Any judge who looks at this and acts in accordance with the law and is not influenced by the fact they were behind 9-11 will throw out the case, that's why we need military tribunals
@stealthwolf1 we would be no better than them if we treat them like animals. they are still human beings. i think you are a dumb ass for not thinking so. i guess you hate the constitution.
The Constitution does not do you ANY good if your DEAD. If any of these guys walk there lawyers need to DIE. You know how angry people are going to be if New York gets hit again? Know how angry there going to be at the lawyers who defend the detainees?
why is it that you think the US was attacked? we are hated in a lot of countries and it's not a coincidence. i just think we should leave these people alone for good. if they want to live in the 6th century, let them. i'm sure we won't have to worry about another attack because of a stupid trial in NYC. that has just been hyped up by fear mongering. our government is decaying and we need to focus on reforming domestic issues instead of being divided on minuscule topics. hopefully you can agree
what world are you living In. When they attack your family you might change your mind. THERE ARE MUSLIMS OUT THERE WHO WANT TO KILL US. Are you realy that stupid? If you dont stop evil they come and KILL YOU.
i don't think that they started this. that's all. i'm sure you've never been in a position of being stepped on by stronger forces, but it sucks and people react. i'm sure all of this could have been avoided if it wasn't for greed. that's all.
Sir, I have to take exception with your statement, "we would be no better than them if we treat them like animals" You are making a comparison between avowed terrorists who killed thousands of innocents in cold blood with people who object to having a terrorists tried in a civilian court, affording them the same protections and priveleges reserved for American citizens. Perhaps their families would like to sue the airlines for not protecting these animals.
You people? To whom are you refering? I'm sorry you can't come up with an adequate response to my comment other than to give up. I accept your acquiesence in the debate, it takes alot to admit when you lost the debate.
right wingers that don't think with their brains is what i mean by 'you people'. i didn't lose a debate. i just thought that i could find common ground somewhere, but i see you don't think the same as i do. violence doesn't solve violence. that's my main point. if you don't see that, it's futile to continue this.
Violence? where did you get anything about violence. The whole debate was/is about Bill calling him a weasel. Right winger? what did I say to make you assume I'm a right winger. I'm just someone interested in the discussion.
Funny how he never said that Bill was in support of a trial, Bill said that he supported Military Tribunals but I guess there wasn't enough time left to include that clip
You honestly think a military tribunal and public court system are the same thing? Terrorists are not part of an army, they are independent entities, Timothy McVeigh was trialed publically for terrorist acts and was defended, but according to your logic, a terrorist from a different country is "different" and should have trial with less rights. If the terrorist truly did it he will be sentenced to death, no differently then a military tribunal. So it doesn't really matter...
yes, hes fucking stupid from a typo, wow, well done man, u proved your better then every1 else.
anyways you may not realise it but being "shot in the fucking head" would make them a martyr, and their name would be praised and their actions admired by all of their cause. dieing in the name of their is the biggest honour they feel they can have.
The defence lawyer is just as good as any of the firefighters or police officers who helped the victims of 9/11.
He was right in saying that anyone who hates him hates the rule of law. It doesn't matter who it is; everyone deserves a fair trial. No matter how the odds are stacked against them.
I've said it before, I say it again: Someone should ask O'Reilly how he feels about John Adams, who defended the British soldiers who committed the Boston Massacre. Would O'Reilly DARE to condemn one of the founders of our country?
I dont understand why O'reilly says that the defense lawyer doesn't believe that thousands were murdered on 9/11. A defense lawyer can not only believe his client is guilty but he can defend him KNOWING that he is guilty. His job is to provide a defense for him.
The problem with many YouTubers and O'Reilly viewers is that they fall into one or more of the following categories: 1. Still in grade school/high school and havent got to the chapter on McCarthyism 2. Measurably dim witted 3. Too naive, afraid or indifferent to quesition or argue the views of their racist and/or biggoted parent(s). 4. Allows emotion/religious fervor to cloud reason.
I'm sure there are more attributes but I think the above covers most of them.
why the fuck would you go on the O'Reilly show at all, much less if you are a terrorist's lawyer. i don't feel sorry for that retard, i mean what did he think would happen?
The body of evidence is stacked up pretty high, I think they'll be convicted solely on that. Even so, I want a trail as part of our due process system. In this case I see it as more of a formality but also a very important one. As such, the terrorists deserve proper legal representation for that trial.
Does Bill'O not realize that a bunch of Americans hate him? O'Reilly is off in fantasy land where he leads his army of undereducated racists. Thankfully here in America we still do things the constitutional way, not Bill O'Reilly's way.
You can not look at it in that way. if one of my family members was killed in the 9/11 attack then my judgement would be comprimised and i would not be fit to give advice. a right to a fair trial is what seperates the civilized from the barbaric.
That's the point; you got it. I say this man should fit the criteria of a patriot, because he is doing a thankless, distasteful, maybe even dangerous job, but he's doing it because he knows that above everything else, the rule of law must be obeyed in any court case, regardless of the circumstances of the crime in question. He is twice the man O'Reilly is; Billboy could never get through life without his adoring, right wing, whackjob fans, and would never risk his "reputation" for any reason.
The point of this was that the lawyer couldn't bring himself to admit that those 3000 people were murdered. He can admit that and still provide an adequate defense. The weasel comment was directed at that fact not that he agreed to defend these ...ahem....people. The lawyer "weaseled" his way out of answering a straight-forward question.
Well, it's been so long now that I can't remember the exact context of the quote, but I would surmise that the attorney didn't want to state or agree with anyone else's statement that his clients were murderers. That would be prejudicial to his case to say the least. If his clients are found guilty then I agree, they're dispicable. But it wouldn't be very smart of the attorney to go around agreeing that his client's are murderers before the case even gets to trial; he doesn't have that luxury
Thats all fine if that were the question, but it wasn't...the question was do you think those 3000 people were murdered? He said nothing about his clients at all.
Well, it's certainly a less specific question, and some lawyers might have answered "definately"; however, even an answer like that to a question like that would again probably be prejudicial to his clients' case. I think he's just doing what he feels is right for his clients. Chances are he's probably stringently following the just rules of law in this case, simply by virtue of it's magnitude. Is till believe the man is honorable.
While I'm not questioning his honor I don't know the man from from the grocer down the street I have to question his decision to appear and agree to be interviewed. Knowing O'reilly he should have at least expected some serious questions. All that aside just appearing on a political show, or any show for that matter, before any trial takes place places his role as a defender in jeopardy considering the pool of potential jurors, at least some, are viewers. It smacks of poor judgement.
When OReilly comes on, I switch to Fox BUSINESS News and watch Judge Andrew Napolitano on "Freedom Watch." I get the news of the day and learn about the Constitution! What a deal!
so you think one of the terrorists from 9/11 deserves the same rights as an american citizen? what if it was one of your family members that got killed on 9/11?
Wait, are you claiming that they are inhuman? This is our legal system as Cenk explained in the video. ALL people deserve a fair trial. To not have one would be against our bill of rights. And no, I do not have any family members who died in 9/11.
Bill should have called him more than that. Maybe if Fenstermaker had family members burned alive at the top of skyscraper then fall to their death, then he would have a different view.
My god does no one in the US believe in the Justice system that there founding fathers George Washington and all who signed the American declaration of independence built?
This should have been a military trial, and you know what? how dare you question my patriotism!?!? People like myself get fed up with this B.S. over the "rights" of some foreign terrorist when good citizens of our communities are entrapped by FBI agents for being "domestic terrorists" and are held in federal prisons.
You know i am not an American citizen but i do believe in the lawyer/prosecutor legal system, also if being aware of how the American justice system works or showing a red neck the error of his arguments is considered unpatriotic in the good ol' USA that would really explain your counties shockingly low IQ average.
Well first off you have to try some one for treason, also if he wasn't an American citizen then he can't be charged with treason. Second why just shot some one when you can make a fool of them first, go step by step with them explaining how they fucked up and guilt trip em before you kill him. I mean its obvious he is gona get lethal injection why not have some fun with the dead man first i mean he has only one life and took over 3000 got to milk him for his worth.
Anti-American?!?!?!? HOW THE FUCK do you see people standing up for the traditional American justice system......anti-American? also for publicity, you know this guy is cheap legal aid who was picked out "the hat of really shitty lawyers" this guy got told "hey life hates you, you have to defend this guy, have fun."
You're seeing in these comments the depth of reasoning power the Far Right actually possesses. The kind of mentality that supports people like Palin. They don't believe in things like due process of course. Their vision of a ideal society is a police state.
Well that would be awesome i mean the Mafia would collapse if they killed all there lawyers but i mean that would a mountain of dead bodies over +3000 how many that terrorist killed in the end just to try the bastard why not focus on setting up a great prosecution i mean the replacement line of lawyers are basically endless
Why so the they get a better replacement lawyer for the terrorist, or kill off all the legal aid in NY then finally get the Mafia to star killing there own lawyers, i mean it the defended you should go after they crappier the lawyer he gets the better.
Lawyers, your going to hell and you know it, you have to defend people you wish you could strangle to death, you defend people who would strangle you to death if given then slightest chance, and you fucking have to do it cuz some one has to. And after all that you wonder why they get paid a lot for there job and blow most of the cash on therapy.
The two are entirely different issues one is domestic and the other is a term invented in 2005 please do not belittle me. It is a term that has yet to be clearly defined. So before going on a douche bag rant know what you are talking about.
I thought the people who committed the crime in 9/11 die in world trade center, so who are this people so call terrorist? Let me guess (Witchcraft) trials !! when u think they get older they never do.
The Host of this show looks like Malik Nadal Hasan-the Ft. Hood terrorist.Hasan was educated in this country, spouted absolutely crazy views while earning the rank of Major in our Army and those around him were scared to speak out publicly for fear of being perceived as racists. How sad to see America ignore the obvious hatred towards it by those who have actually benefitted by it's tolerance!
i don't think many of u have been in a criminal case before by the way your commenting. Lawyers never get people off. they are there to represent u and negotiate what a proper punishment would be for what you have done. 99 percent of cases are plea bargained. but alot are weasals though. except for my lawyer of course ;-) lol
yes, they r there to negotiate what a proper punishment would be, but thats only if u plead guilty from the start..or after u lost ur case.
they are there to win the case regardless. winning the case usually puts more money in their pocket, so trust me, they are trying to get you off first...then if that doesnt work, they try to get the smallest punishment possible for you.
in order for 99% to be plea bargained, 99% of criminals would have to confess. not likely
yeah u talking about tv lawyers. real lawyers are measured on how little of a sentence they get u. in ohio our prosecuters have a 95% conviction rate. that means they convict 95% of the people charged. that doesn't mean they are convicted with the original charge. thats why people never admit to the crime because they rarely get convicted of the original charge. thats where a good lawyer comes in to reduce the chrges as much as possible. maybe its diffent where ur from. i've been in three cases
lol im not talking about tv lawyers..im talking about real cases, my cases, my families cases and my friends cases..
people get away with stuff all the time, and alot of the time, its b/c they have a good lawyer...
i dont understand what you mean when you say there not convicted of original crime but others? and people never admit to the crime b/c they dont want to get in trouble, and it makes the lawyers work easier, not b/c they will get another charge out of nowhere
lol.. thats wat a plea bargain is... a plea bargin is when a defendant says hes not guilty of the original charge but will plead guilty to a lesser charge but its still a conviction. evry lawyer in ohio must suck becasue like i said there is a 95% prosecution rate look it up. i talking about felonies bro. ask your family members if they got acquittals. because if not then they got charged with somethin.
over here...if you dont want to get in trouble you plea not guilty and have a trial...then they have to PROVE your guilty...if your lawyer can show other wise..your good to go...no other charge...i feel sorry for you guys having to believe that, but thats just to make ur state more money..get em in, get em out..charge em with something...i dont care what...
I'm not going to say he's a weasel, but can you really imagine being a lawyer for a terrorist? I think that wouldn't exactly make you the most popular guy in town. Now obviously he's got a right to a fair trial, and a lawyer, i'm not saying he shouldn't have that. But hey if I was a lawyer it'd take some crazy ass amount of money for me to defend that guy.
Nigun2, go suck a donkey's penis. Better yet, since you're 14, buy a ticket to Ireland and get orally and anally raped by a priest from Church. By the way, you Greeks have been fucked by Islamic Turkey for hundreds of years. Hell, they even took over half of Cyprus and your islands. Poor thing, it must suck knowing how Turkish tribes took over Greek land and blasted you into pieces for almost a thousand years. Hehe...
All of you Turk worshippers again, are missing the point. Yes, someone has to defend those terrorists, that is in the Constitution. But the defense lawyer decides to go on a widely popular cable show only for further career gain. By doing this, he shows he cares more about his job than the 3,000 that were murdered on 9/11. And for that, that guy is a WEASEL.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I'm an atheist. How about if you get your nigger head out of your nigger asshole so that your nigger dad can shove his 12 inch nigger cock into it, you fukking nigger son of a nigger whore motherfukker.
Important distinction here. Bill did not ask the lawyer if his client murdered the people on 9/11 he asked him, simply, if they were murdered. A question the lawyer can answer with out violating his obligation to his client. The young turks are a bunch of morons that dont even watch, or understand their own clips.
their main point is that bill is immaturely calling him names, when the principle of the constitution in regards to criminals is that they deserve representation.
I'm willing to put money down on the theory that the O'Reilly show paid that dude a tonne of money to act like a dumbass in order make Bill look clever.
Cenk Uygur laughs because someone's name "sounds like a joke."
I once got a Cenk Uygur on my sack from banging a chick in a Mississippi truck stop.... why would he laugh at the pronunciation of a name of someone from a different culture.
There is a reason MSNBC passed on this guy.
He's okay... but he;s a weak link on his own show.
ouch.... its a bit much to then say about MSNBCs slot.
I think in this show he is giving us his very frank views etc... I like that in this show and if asked to not do that for another show I am sure he could manage not too.
ok say an american bombs a building in america, and kills women and children, and babies, is that an act of war, maybe a civil war, because sumbody did that in oklahoma sevral years back, now think about it, most of da suicide bombers i've seen on t.v. dont really target helpless people, but it is still a bad thing to kill, but u just have 2 think about it
TYT fails to realize the main issue: that a person who is on trial for terrorism in America is being tried in US courts.
And where did Bill ask the lawyer if his client was guilty? He did not ask if the victims on 9/11 were murdered by his client. Bill asked if the people killed on 9/11 WERE MURDERED (period). Yes, the lawyer is weaseling his way out of the question for not simply saying the people killed on 9/11 were murdered.
And of course TYT randomly bring up the OJ case to be divisive.
Uhhh... You don't understand your own law system. Asking a defense attorney if his client MURDERED people, would mean EXACTLY the same as asking him if he is guilty.... Since, confessing to murder would be an admission of guilt.... Complain about your legal system and stop defense attorneys from defending clients... That should really help people get a fair trial in the U.S. huh? Quit contributing to the amount of nonsense on the internet please, for the sake of society. Ty :)
Uhhh...You didn't listen to what O'Reilly said. He simply asked if the people killed on 9/11 were murdered (and the lawyer WEASELED his way out of the question). He did NOT ask if the people killed on 9/11 were murdered BY THE LAWYER'S CLIENT. There is a difference.
And it's sad that you can't see how messed up it is for a terrorist who allegedly committed terrorism here in the United States to be granted access to the US courts. It is disgraceful.
soo what do you wanna do with those effin terrorists ? spend tax payer money, to let them be on Guantanamo for indefinently ?. you realise they had better health care then me and you for free, they had superbest facilities ? and got served food etc.. and those who helped on WTC 9/11 got sick, and got no help. Is that what you want it to be like `?. how many years have they been there now ?. lets judge them our way. and let them come to justice to tell them that the US is greater then them.
the "right" is afraid we might learn something from the trial(s) that they dont want us to know. Its top secret your just a civilian you dont deserve to know why or how other civilians were killed. just trust us we are the government!
You start off randomly assuming that I want terrorists to just go to GITMO (I Don't). You then assume that I don't know about the luxuries that the detainees at GITMO receive (I Do: Watch this video > youtube com /watch?v=PtrzcBMbVXs).
And again you assume I don't know anything about the First Responders, and how they weren't told how Ground Zero was nowhere near safe for them to be working.
Bottom Line: A US Civilian Court is not where a terrorist should be tried, a Military Tribunal is.
To start with you can't call me the N word because im not black idiot
Next im illiterate your the moron who spelt Muhammad's name wrong in your own comment.
Next i don't believe in a god ethier that dosn't mean i get to be an igorant fuck about it . It's cocksucker like you gives athiest's and agonstics a bad name
lastly a Muslim god ? Your stupidity unbelieveable
You people are idiots. Yes, he has to defend these creeps, but he didn't have to go on one of the most watched cable news show. The only point of this was to advance his weasely career, instead of defending these creeps behind the cameras. You people make me sick.
Oh he can do whatever he wants. I just believe a lawyer who is using 3,000 murdered innocent civilians to boast his own career is pretty corrupt. But then again, I have values, so I can understand why you think differently. I bid you good day. (Tips fedora and walks off into the sunset).
Argument is not flawed. Your thought process is flawed. Someone has to defend this scumbag, that is written. However, the lawyer did not have to appear on Bill's show, making a mockery of those that died. It's all about self promotion in the most despicable degree. Have a nice day.
Look, Sometimes you have to defend people you hate! Thats how being a lawyer is, its part of the job. He has to defend them as best he can... case closed. They have to stand trial and they need representation. Period!
The problem is and always has been that those with right-wing proclivities never have, and never will, get what our post-Enlightenment system is all about. They are people whom history has left behind. They have much in common with bin Laden and his ilk, but lack the self-awareness to realise it.
Bill O reily is a weisel. Ever notice how many people on the far right talk tuff but have never been in military, on the police force, or have ever done anything to show their patriotism. They talk tuff but have never done anything to show their patriotism or ever picked up weapon in defense of their nation. They want war but only when their children arent there.
O'Reilly is right about this lawyer for Bill is a REAL LIVING PROPHET and APOSTLE! This lawyer is Sarah Palin's DICKLESS and BALLESS BITCH and PUSSY! Palin has SUPERIOR understanding of the law than this ass-clown. She will UNLEASH the WRATH OF GOD HERSELF onto those 911 terrorists and EXPOSE their DARK TOXIC HAIRY PUSSIES for the WHOLE WORLD TO SEE and have her AMAZON GOD WARRIORS kick their PUSSIES repeatedly!
Guess what? You are 100% against your own justice system... You DO know that it is the role of a defense attorney to defend those who they personally may find in the wrong? Oh wait, you obviously didn't... Perhaps U.S.A isn't the right country for you since you obviously are against their laws and legal system... I suggest refraining from commenting on something you haven't the slightest bit of knowledge on in the future. :)
bill oreilly is saying that "we all saw ksm commit 9/11" uhhhh I think I missed that Bill o. Notice how whenever fox news talks about 9/11 they all say "we saw this with our own eyes" . It is a form of propaganda that is intended to make the viewer beleive he already knows everything and has all the answers. If we have all the answers then there is no reason to ask questions. Ask the jersey girls if we know what happened on 9/11.Y is bill o calling a guy he is interviewing a weasel?this is news?
I dont think you should be "doing your damndest to make sure the defendant gets an innocent verdict regardless of their innocence or guilt. If I understand this, you are saying that you don't care if an innocent person is wrongly convicted. Please say this isn't a correct interpretation of your statement.
The a-bombing was defense. We wanted Japanese to stop killing us on our own land and abroad, and this was the most efficient way to accomplish that goal....so it was justifiable homicide.
Pearl Harbor was a military target. You and O'Reilly would have to admit that tens of thousands of innocent people were killed by these A-bombs. "Innocent people going to work in the morning" as Bill O. says." What possible justification"? They were not Americans is the answer...I guess.
Far be it from me to defend O'Reilly but you can't compare 9/11 to the Bombing of Japan. The Japanese sent out a formal Declaration of War and the US responded in turn. As regretful as it was, using the bomb was NOT TERRORISM. 9/11 was an attempt to gain PURELY POLITICAL MOTIVATIONS. The West out of the Middle East. The A-Bomb was used during the course of a declared escalating conflict where it was reasonable to assume the US would use all means available to protect their troops
Did you know that MacArthur and Eisenhower were opposed to dropping the A-bomb? I'm sure they thought the war could have been won without it. Targeting civilians is terrorism regardless of whether there is a war or not. War is terrorism perpetrated by governments for purely political motives. The US government has no problem doing terrorism whenever it thinks it can get away with it.
holy crap o'reilly is such a stupid asshole getting the guy on the show just to berate him. you don't badger a lawyer like this. somebody has to represent the terrorists, its called a fucking free trial. in any case there is no way they are getting acquitted by a new york jury, end of.
Well, here's a few true things that Bill'O is.
A liar, a pervert (loofah boy!), a homophobe, a racist (and just a general bigot), a right-wing propaganda scam artist, a corporate bitch, a hypocrite, a bully... the list goes on really.
And I forgot that he's an idiot. Tides come in tides come out indeed...

All you idiots here on youtube.

@stealthwolf1 we would be no better than them if we treat them like animals. they are still human beings. i think you are a dumb ass for not thinking so. i guess you hate the constitution.
soccerdude601 1 year ago
Right, I'm a dumb ass and hate the constitution.
All because I want to give the terrorists military tribunals and want to see them convicted instead of having a vigilante judge throw out the case.
I fail to understand why that constitutes as not treating them as human beings, maybe you could explain it to me.

The Constitution does not do you ANY good if your DEAD. If any of these guys walk there lawyers need to DIE. You know how angry people are going to be if New York gets hit again? Know how angry there going to be at the lawyers who defend the detainees?

Sir, I have to take exception with your statement, "we would be no better than them if we treat them like animals" You are making a comparison between avowed terrorists who killed thousands of innocents in cold blood with people who object to having a terrorists tried in a civilian court, affording them the same protections and priveleges reserved for American citizens. Perhaps their families would like to sue the airlines for not protecting these animals.

Funny how he never said that Bill was in support of a trial, Bill said that he supported Military Tribunals but I guess there wasn't enough time left to include that clip
stealthwolf1 2 years ago
You honestly think a military tribunal and public court system are the same thing? Terrorists are not part of an army, they are independent entities, Timothy McVeigh was trialed publically for terrorist acts and was defended, but according to your logic, a terrorist from a different country is "different" and should have trial with less rights. If the terrorist truly did it he will be sentenced to death, no differently then a military tribunal. So it doesn't really matter...

TheBrownNote2007 2 years ago 4
I dont understand why O'reilly says that the defense lawyer doesn't believe that thousands were murdered on 9/11. A defense lawyer can not only believe his client is guilty but he can defend him KNOWING that he is guilty. His job is to provide a defense for him.
frankgrimes17 2 years ago
O'Reilly, we have a LEGAL SYSTEM in the US that must be followed.

I'm sure there are more attributes but I think the above covers most of them.

afunnyredneckguy 2 years ago
The body of evidence is stacked up pretty high, I think they'll be convicted solely on that. Even so, I want a trail as part of our due process system. In this case I see it as more of a formality but also a very important one. As such, the terrorists deserve proper legal representation for that trial.

iriluu 2 years ago
You can not look at it in that way. if one of my family members was killed in the 9/11 attack then my judgement would be comprimised and i would not be fit to give advice. a right to a fair trial is what seperates the civilized from the barbaric.
FaithNoMore1977 2 years ago 3
That's the point; you got it. I say this man should fit the criteria of a patriot, because he is doing a thankless, distasteful, maybe even dangerous job, but he's doing it because he knows that above everything else, the rule of law must be obeyed in any court case, regardless of the circumstances of the crime in question. He is twice the man O'Reilly is; Billboy could never get through life without his adoring, right wing, whackjob fans, and would never risk his "reputation" for any reason.
jerico641 2 years ago 22
The point of this was that the lawyer couldn't bring himself to admit that those 3000 people were murdered. He can admit that and still provide an adequate defense. The weasel comment was directed at that fact not that he agreed to defend these ...ahem....people. The lawyer "weaseled" his way out of answering a straight-forward question.
octogenerian413 1 year ago
Well, it's been so long now that I can't remember the exact context of the quote, but I would surmise that the attorney didn't want to state or agree with anyone else's statement that his clients were murderers. That would be prejudicial to his case to say the least. If his clients are found guilty then I agree, they're dispicable. But it wouldn't be very smart of the attorney to go around agreeing that his client's are murderers before the case even gets to trial; he doesn't have that luxury
jerico641 1 year ago
Thats all fine if that were the question, but it wasn't...the question was do you think those 3000 people were murdered? He said nothing about his clients at all.
octogenerian413 1 year ago
Well, it's certainly a less specific question, and some lawyers might have answered "definately"; however, even an answer like that to a question like that would again probably be prejudicial to his clients' case. I think he's just doing what he feels is right for his clients. Chances are he's probably stringently following the just rules of law in this case, simply by virtue of it's magnitude. Is till believe the man is honorable.
jerico641 1 year ago
While I'm not questioning his honor I don't know the man from from the grocer down the street I have to question his decision to appear and agree to be interviewed. Knowing O'reilly he should have at least expected some serious questions. All that aside just appearing on a political show, or any show for that matter, before any trial takes place places his role as a defender in jeopardy considering the pool of potential jurors, at least some, are viewers. It smacks of poor judgement.

i don't think many of u have been in a criminal case before by the way your commenting. Lawyers never get people off. they are there to represent u and negotiate what a proper punishment would be for what you have done. 99 percent of cases are plea bargained. but alot are weasals though. except for my lawyer of course ;-) lol
MrDreambig1979 2 years ago
its definitely not 99%...
yes, they r there to negotiate what a proper punishment would be, but thats only if u plead guilty from the start..or after u lost ur case.
they are there to win the case regardless. winning the case usually puts more money in their pocket, so trust me, they are trying to get you off first...then if that doesnt work, they try to get the smallest punishment possible for you.
in order for 99% to be plea bargained, 99% of criminals would have to confess. not likely
m333tt 2 years ago
yeah u talking about tv lawyers. real lawyers are measured on how little of a sentence they get u. in ohio our prosecuters have a 95% conviction rate. that means they convict 95% of the people charged. that doesn't mean they are convicted with the original charge. thats why people never admit to the crime because they rarely get convicted of the original charge. thats where a good lawyer comes in to reduce the chrges as much as possible. maybe its diffent where ur from. i've been in three cases
MrDreambig1979 2 years ago
then your lawyer sucks...
lol im not talking about tv lawyers..im talking about real cases, my cases, my families cases and my friends cases..
people get away with stuff all the time, and alot of the time, its b/c they have a good lawyer...
i dont understand what you mean when you say there not convicted of original crime but others? and people never admit to the crime b/c they dont want to get in trouble, and it makes the lawyers work easier, not b/c they will get another charge out of nowhere
m333tt 2 years ago
lol.. thats wat a plea bargain is... a plea bargin is when a defendant says hes not guilty of the original charge but will plead guilty to a lesser charge but its still a conviction. evry lawyer in ohio must suck becasue like i said there is a 95% prosecution rate look it up. i talking about felonies bro. ask your family members if they got acquittals. because if not then they got charged with somethin.
MrDreambig1979 2 years ago
well im sorry its like that where your from..
over here...if you dont want to get in trouble you plea not guilty and have a trial...then they have to PROVE your guilty...if your lawyer can show other wise..your good to go...no other charge...i feel sorry for you guys having to believe that, but thats just to make ur state more money..get em in, get em out..charge em with something...i dont care what...
sounds kinda fucked up if you ask me..
id move if i were you...
we have rights over here.

And of course TYT randomly bring up the OJ case to be divisive.
candidskeptic 2 years ago
Ty :)
blahface420 2 years ago
Uhhh...You didn't listen to what O'Reilly said. He simply asked if the people killed on 9/11 were murdered (and the lawyer WEASELED his way out of the question). He did NOT ask if the people killed on 9/11 were murdered BY THE LAWYER'S CLIENT. There is a difference.
And it's sad that you can't see how messed up it is for a terrorist who allegedly committed terrorism here in the United States to be granted access to the US courts. It is disgraceful.

100% agreed

He has to defend the terrorist because under the US legal system, it is the defense lawyers job to do just that.
Ifo you dont like it, then blame your legal system, not the defense lawyer who is simply doing his job to feed his family.

Bill O. doesn't call the A-bombing of innocent civilians in WW2 murder. Does that make him a hypocrite or a weasel?
66605 2 years ago
The a-bombing was defense. We wanted Japanese to stop killing us on our own land and abroad, and this was the most efficient way to accomplish that goal....so it was justifiable homicide.

Pearl Harbor was a military target. You and O'Reilly would have to admit that tens of thousands of innocent people were killed by these A-bombs. "Innocent people going to work in the morning" as Bill O. says." What possible justification"? They were not Americans is the answer...I guess.
66605 2 years ago
@66605
