  • Wow....I always though Olive oil was the best option. Thank you so much for the information.

  • Thank you for uploading, it was a helpful video indeed. I would add though that you wouldn't just drink 100g of olive oil for lunch, where as you would eat 100g of pork or tuna on a regular basis, even a lot more than that - so the amount of fats going into your body obviously depends on how much you take from what. this has to be mentioned i think.

  • Great vid

  • Thanks, this was really helpful! :D

  • @Strav777 Id advice u to watch as well the Oiling of America by Sally Fallon here on utube!! all the best!! a

  • @Strav777 Saturated fats(butter, dripping, coconut Oil, cacao butter, lard) are the best fats to cook with as They Do Not Go Racid!! What Evidence Have U got To say That Animal Fats Are Bad For Us? What Studies Do u Know Say That? id advice u to watch the videos Big Fat Fiasco here on youtube and learn More About the truth about animal fats!! All the best!!

  • @Strav777 Soooo many problems with your comments: Saturated Fats Are SemiEssential as can be produced(if not eaten)from carbs and protein! Saturated Fats Are Stable they do Not Go Rancid While Polys do! LdL Is Not Cholesterol! its a lipoprotein that carry cholesterol where needed! Actually Too many polyunsaturated fats can cause weight gain and insuline resistance and they create free radicals!!

  • So many problems with this video: saturated fats are not needed by the body - the body readily makes them from poly and mono unsaturated fats. Saturated fats are harder to digest than unsaturated. Animal fats increase LDL cholesterol and increase the risk of obesity and diabetes. I could go on... Interesting that pork and tuna are being compared to olive oil as a source of protein. Hello! Of course olive oil contains no aminos - but people don't have it as a main course in their dinner do they?

  • someone shut this bitch up... ERGH. lol

  • The only problem I have with fully fat dairy products is that most of the ones I see have trans fat.

  • @Chunkylova53 I don't think you need to be afraid of the small amount of trans fats that occur naturally in meat and dairy products. It's the MAN-MADE HYDROGENATED TRANS-FATS that are super bad! The reason those "plastic" fats are especially bad is because your body cannot tell the difference between saturated fats and hydrogenated trans-fats, so your body may actually attempt to use the plastic fats for your cell structures, making them highly unstable!

  • I notice that my body feels so much better since I added saturated fats back into my diet. Im not as cold all the time, and I can think better. Our bodies use saturated fat to covor all of our organs to shield them from cold and damage, as well as the fat in the brain bieng from saturated fat, I believe.

  • @henrytheeigthiam Thank you! It will take years, but hopefully common sense and people getting together on the internet will speed things up. Keep spreading the word x

  • Nature Is The Standard As She Knows Much Better Then The Food Standard Agency Or The FDA!! Plus In January The American Journal For Clinical Nutrition Has Confirmed That Saturated Fat is Not The Cause Of Heart Problems and All That Junk!! Finally SomeOne Apologizes For Accusing Fat Of A Crime Commetted By Carbs And Sugars!! Thanks

  • How about This Food Fact!! 100gr of Parma Ham from Sainsburys: 27.8 gr protein, 0.4 Carbs, and 15.5 total Fat of Which: 7gr Mono-Unsaturated Fat and 3gr PolyUnsaturated Fat .. And.. 5.5gr Only of Saturated Fat!! How Can This Food Labled Bad As Its High In Saturated Fat!?? The Food Standard Agency Is Absolutely No Standard At All When It Comes To Foods!!!

  • Very interesting Zoe. And a great teacher too!

  • @carlyrose19

Thank you! You are very kind :-)

  • hello zoe ....thank you for the information....!!!

  • fourth, the only healthy unsaturated fats are MCTs, which are found in coconut oil

fifth, if you are going to consume olive oil, make sure it is extra-virgin olive oil

and finally. i don't fully understand the point of this video...are you trying to say that nature balances out the amount of fat in foods?

  • Hi there - many thanks for all of these really interesting points. I'm trying to say that saturated fat is not bad for us - nature puts it in all foods - no one ever tells us it is in olive oil. I do actually eat way more olive oil than pork - my hubby and I get through a litre or so a week between us and the Mediterraneans will eat as much, if not more. I'm also trying to dispell the idea that all sat fat is bad and all unsat fat is good - which you have added to - thank you!

    No more room! x

  • so much olive oil! haha

i guess as a vegan i'm kind of biased about this lol...my main source of fat is avocado :P

    but thanks for replying!

but i'd like to point out to anyone who read

topheramazz's comment that despite this video, bacon and eggs every morning is definitely not the healthiest breakfast...haha

  • u should know that i only eat organic, grass fed, pasture raised, free range etc. so im confident that im eating very healthily. im also a protein type and i was vegan for 3 years and i felt like crap most of that time. if ur doing well as a vegan, thats great! but i cant. good luck.

  • ok first of all, nobody would eat as much olive oil as they would pork

second, the reason omega-3's and omega-6's should be high in the diet is because the body cannot produce them, where as it can produce the other fats

third, if you work out, then you need to eat more omega-3&6 fats because then ur body will be able to draw on fat reserves, instead of only burning carbs. this double-fuel-source lengthens the time it takes for muscle glycogen to be used up

  • i eat bacon and eggs every morning and i feel wonderfull! saturated fats are my friends!

  • Hello topheramazz, are you doing the harcombe eating program....bacon and eggs, are fantastic...!!!

  • im doing "the metabolic typing diet" by william wolcott and trish fahey

it's a diet based on an individuals genetically-based nutrition and diet requirements. im a protein type.i do best on the paleo diet and adkin's diet.

also check out a book by Paul Chek "how to eat move and be healthy" and "nutrition and physical degeneration" by weston a price. these are some of the books i base my diet on. the harcombe diet is great also. thanx

  • Hi viewers - it's Zoe here - just to explain why carb (0) + protein (22) + fat (7) don't add up to 100g for pork (the same applies to the tuna numbers). The rest is, of course, water. Water is in all foods other than oils - water gets separated out of oils.

    Hope this helps! x
