Many of the scenes are of West Hartlepool including the West Harbour and piers, Church Street, South Durham Steel and Iron ... Ridley Scott knew the scenic qualities of the town as he studied at West Hartlepool College of Art.
@youtubister at the end the wheel is just hanging over the bridge a LITTLE too much more than the shot before (when he drops his bike, you can see that all the bike including the spinning wheel is completely on the bridge. The very last shot when he goes down the steps, you can see hit tire still spinning, OBVIOUSLY hanging over the edge of the bridge in the foreground.
That's the only continuity I saw, but I wasn't looking for it until the very end....
@youtubister The blazer? I can just see some stripes in the second shot but the light is very flat unlike the opening shot when the there are the long shadows of sunrise. The light changes again once he's on the quay, I think you're right about the blazer but it was probably a deliberate ploy to enhance that shot's -Brrrrrr it's cold- feeling.
Some places appear not to be rebuilt yet after the war! Not many cars about either

Which town?

Oh yeah, it misses out the bit where he goes home and changes his jacket ;-)
I'd say the repositioning of the wheel is within artistic licence. Great clip, you feel like you're really out on your bike on a nippy morning.

It starts when he just scored and cuts just when he's about to skin up.

Yup, the change in jackets. Didn't spot what @rbass311 saw. Will have to go back. All clean good fun :)
