Using probability, it only makes sense that there is A LOT of other life out there. You'd be better off looking for reasons to the contrary. what a fool. life is a bi-product? he has no idea of the complexity of simple life or the mathematical probabilities against life happening by accident. if every star had an earthlike planet and every planet had nothing but life chemicals it would still be impossible for life to occur by accident. why? intelligence is necessary. its like saying that because all the elements necessary for a cake are in the kitchen, if you leave it long enough, voila, a cake. bullshit.

INTELLIGENT LIFE is much rarer than life in general. Right now our quest is to find ANY alien life even if its just plants or microbes or small bugs. Even proof that life USED to exist somewhere like FOSSILS ON MARS would be a major breakthrough. But over time after we have found a lot of it it will cease to be a big deal. At that point ONLY sentient or semisentient life will be interesting.

Bye and large animals, including us, fear what they do not understand. Unhappily, humans usually destroy what they fear. If I was a alien I would be very careful about interacting with humans. Not out of fear. But, just for scientific reasons. Interaction changes what you are observing and that is bad science. Personally I think we are being watched. If, other life exists at all and that life has evolved to the point science has developed to space travel to get to us.

Even people who disagree with eachother on (relatively) small things like politics kill eachother. Why should we be able to accept an alien civilization? Using probability, it only makes sense that there is A LOT of other life out there. You'd be better off looking for reasons to the contrary. The only problem is how long it would take to get anywhere interesting. Even at the speed of light, it would take hundreds of years just to get to another solar system. It's theoretically impossible to travel faster than the speed of light. We would literally need to invent warp engines lol.

I think it's interestingly strange that NASA assumes to know what ET's would appear as. I mean it's just as likely that they're on a nano scale and can't be readily seen without technology as it is that they appear similar to us.
For all we know, they could be outside the human visual light spectrum. Of course this is all speculation on my part, i'm just simply trying to point out the vast range of possibilities.
