  • In theory, they're not supposed to ask and you're not supposed to tell. However, if they see any evidence, someone sees you, they find out that you're involved in a homosexual relationship--EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T TELL--they still have to investigate you--in theory it worked, but in application it was disastrous!

  • Let the military themselves have the final say on this. Not civilians, not Obama or any other politician. The people serving on the front lines should be the only ones to decide whther it should be repealed or not

  • @funk7000 Yeah you're totally right, our politicians are doing this for the money...like the politicians in Albania,Argentina,Australia,Austria,Belgium,Canada,Republic of China,Colombia,Czech Republic,Denmark,Estonia,Finland,France,Germany,Greece,Republic of Ireland,Israel,Italy,Japan,Lithuania,Luxembourg,Malta,The Netherlands,New Zealand,Norway,Peru,Philippines,Poland,Russia,Serbia,Slovenia,South Africa,Spain,Sweden,Switzerland,Thailand, United Kingdom allow gays to serve openly...RIGHT?

  • So once again the media is just giving us one side of the story. DADT is the same as mind your own business. I thought that's what homos wanted, so why do they want to create a climate that may entice or encourage people not to mind their own business? It'll only add to more disruptions within the military.

  • And I rather trust the voices who have served in the military on this one rather than any other group of people who have a reputation for more commonly displaying fleeting personalities and pushing agendas or the politicians who only have a background in pushing paper bought and sold by the special interest that only throw around lots of money and infiltrate and subvert institutions in order to win validation for their behaviors

  • @funk7000 Surely it is not because it is MORALLY RIGHT.

  • It's distgusting to see that the majority of people in uniform agree with DADT! Shouldn't you be more concerned about fighting for your country. But then that would make the majority of serivce members hypocrites because above all else your fighting for "Freedom". What does freedom mean to America?. I don't think the gays are the confused ones at this point.

  • It is unfortunate that making a political statement is more important to gay servicemembers than serving their country is.

  • @sgtkpf "...making a political statement is more important to gay servicemembers than serving their country is. " sgtkpf. Are you assuming to know the hearts / minds of gay service members? If not, can you cite support for your claim?

  • @sgtkpf Bravely standing up for one's rights and freedoms is the American thing to do in the land of the brave and the home of the free. I guess you prefer land of the sheepish and home of the obedient?

  • @CalifaJohn

Ciao Bello John! (Though I do adore your Italian name"Giovanni")

Right on, I read this persons post and am incredulous! Queer(gay) servicemembers have been bravely

fighting and dying for this country and have been required, as no other group of citizens, to hide or lie about who they are, and whom they love. So struggling to do so openly is prefering to make a political statement, over serving? That even defied logic, did it not?

    Sinceramente,

    Blaine

  • she is a fucking reservist so therefore she was off duty and the UCMJ did not apply to her. The person that narced her out is a bitch. I dont agree with being gay, but Amy's life was just fucked up by that one asshole that cant keep their mouth shut.

  • @iChristian91206 The UCMJ certainly does apply to Reservists who aren't on active status. If you don't think that's the case, I can refer you to some guys who smoked pot and then got recalled....

  • No fags. Dykes are welcome in the military. They can carry their own shit when we deploy.

  • So, well DONE Tod Bunting of the Inquisition!

  • Our president's apparent "full plate" allows him time to embark on a seven-day fundraising campaign tour, but not the two minutes it would take to sign a stop loss order ending the obscene firings of gay soldiers. Suck up cash while lives continue to be destroyed. Great priorities.

  • Quite frankly Amy Brian never violated the DADT policy, because she never asked nor told anyone. It's the person who told on her, while Amy is not in uniform and off duty, that violated Don't ASK Don't TELL. Amy gets kicked out, but what about the person that told?

  • The person that told deserves a medal. I think it would be the right decision to have the military members vote on the DADT policy. I promise you that will not change for the gay better.

  • Oh yes it will. Look at our closest allies like Israel, Canada, Mexico, UK, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, etc. Ironically enough, the DADT policy aligns with the policies of China, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Yemen, Iran, Cuba....interesting isn't it?

  • @jusitke07 Yes look at those countries, ohh and dont forget to look at the preisthood, gee I wonder how they have been doing with gays? They have regulations about sex, and if i'm right sexual misconduct is happening in other contries also. I wonder how much its helped the catholic church, if it were up to you, each preist should get his own alter boy to play with lol

  • @68chargerlover Okay and what does this have anything to do with the military's Don't Ask Don't Tell? Besides, what makes you think that there's no such thing as Heterosexual men practicing pedophiliasm with little girls...especially in America?

  • @jusitke07 Its an example of an organization thats been around for generations.Watch the news and see if theres more hetrosexual preists or gay preists breaking the law. I'm just saying that even if there is rules and punishments people will still make the wrong choices. Your asking for trouble putting an openly flamboyant gay man in with a bunch of straight marines its wrong and forcing them to live in close areas together is sad.DADT is simple you can be in I just dont want to know about it

  • @68chargerlover Wrong. The Catholic Church has nothing to do with the military's DADT policy. And if an openly flamboyant Gay guy or a Butch Lesbian are able to physically & mentally carry out the mission to win a war....what's your big fuss?

  • @jusitke07 No they dont but they have rules also, its just another instutuion that I was using as an example. I dont mind fighting with a gay man or a lesbian. But getting rid of dadt totally is wrong. there has to be rules of conduct, and different rules compared to women because women dont live, sleep or shower with a squad of men. Soldiers dont just go home at the end of the day they are together all the time

  • @68chargerlover And what do the "rules" of the Vatican City have anything to do with the miltiary's DADT policy? Basically, it's a red herring fallacy argument on your part to try and use the Catholic Church to try and reason with keeping DADT policy. It just doesn't work as well trust me. Just like there are Homosexuals in the Police Force, Homeland Security, Fire Dept. it wouldn't make a difference at all with the Homosexuals in the miltiary.

  • @jusitke07 You gave me examples of organizations and I gave you one of the oldest.Dadt needs to be changed, there has to be rules on conduct in sleeping quarters. Maybe have separate quaters for gays or maybe a separate unit for them, why force 10 guys to sleep and live with an openly gay guy they dont want to be around. The military forces soldiers to be together all the time there is no going home after duty day for some.

  • @68chargerlover And what examples are they that I gave you? Because one thing's for sure I know for sure that I gave you an example that has everything to do with the military and/or DADT policy right?

  • @68chargerlover How ridiculous. There already are rules on "conduct" in sleeping quarters. This is the most absurd example of the gay panic defense I've heard.

Perhaps they should be forced to because they are in the military and in the military you do not get to pick and choose who your fellow enlisted men are. That is a truly repulsive and disgusting thought stream you've got going on. The military already has an infamous infestation of militia and white supremacists, don't give them cover.

  • @thanatos101b There are rules but does everyone follow them? No they dont, even for men and women. You need to join instead of making asumptions, there are alot of great african american leaders, when I join we were told there is only one color and thats green if you have a problem with that leave now. Some of my bestfriends are black. And gays are in, I just dont want to know about their sex lives. If dadt is repeald then have unisex bathrooms and showers. Then its all good no problems.

  • @68chargerlover No, which it true of all organizations. Which is why the military, again like all organizations, has a disciplinary system. The same one forcing out people who they spent multiple millions of dollars training, because someone accused them of being gay.

I'm not making assumptions. You are making assumptions. You just assumed the military was too incompetent to actually discipline its own members.

  • @thanatos101b Disipline is great when people follow the rules but not eveyone does. The military has been changing, you cant assume everyone will behave, why not have females live there too. In your opinion women should be able to shower with men and there be no problems because of rules and everyone follows them.

  • @68chargerlover Umm, discipline is for those who do not follow the rules, not those who do. I'm not assuming everyone will behave, no one assumes that. That would be the reason why there is that entire disciplinary process. Of course you've completely undermined your entire point, since if people are not going to follow the existing regulation, adding new ones is not going to accomplish anything.

I'd have no problem with co-ed bunk facilities.

  • @thanatos101b Yeah and your saying all gay men and women will follow the rules, thats a big statment lol.And no they havent followed the rules, even the ones you say are very disiplined or there wouldnt be gays serving now, and there are alot of gays. I have no problem serving with them either, some are friends of mine. My point is if they can be open, then why not be equal and let women shower and sleep in the same sleeping quarters as straight men, we all follow the rules.

  • @68chargerlover I would suggest reading my comments, because you would find at no point did I ever claim all gay men and women would follow the rules, in fact, I clearly stated the exact opposite.

I'd also suggest you look up the meaning of "discipline," since you seem to be confused on that one.

And I just said I have no problem with co-ed bunk facilities. It would be cheaper and improve unit cohesion. The only reason we don't is because of the religious right's obsession with lust.

  • @thanatos101b Then we have no problems, we agree. We need to remove dadt, but make new rules that work for all, and have coed bathrooms, showers and sleeping quarters, and kick out people who break the rules.

  • @jusitke07 It states that it bans an individual from participating a gay or lesbian act while on duity. Also, the video said that she told people. Point out when it said that someone asked her?

  • @madderdaddy2 So you don't think it's ridiculous to judge a person's job performance based on their sexual orientation?

  • @jusitke07 When did I ever say that? I was just stating what the law stated.

  • @madderdaddy2 And where in the video does it mentions that she told?

  • @jusitke07 Ok, that is just the policy name. The law states that it is prohibited intent and actions of the sort. Read the law, I never said she told or was asked anything. I just said the law prevents people from acting upon it.

  • @madderdaddy2 If you read what you said in your earlier post you said, and I cut and pasted your comment that said, "Also, the video said that she told people"

That's why I asked, "And where in the video does it mentions that she told?"

And just because something irrational is made into law, doesn't make it right.

  • @jusitke07 Ok, if she didn't tell people, she still acted upon it.

  • @madderdaddy2 So in other words....you lied. Proud of yourself for lying to try and make this American Homosexual Veteran look bad?

  • why are some comments not showing up on here??

  • Just have a vote on it open only to members of the military, let them decide on it

  • obama! i hope change comes for dis
