I really liked Death Note because it's much more complex than any other anime I've ever seen. It really makes you question the condition of today's society and how we should all strive to improve it. I personally think that Light had good intentions all the way up until L's death and then, afterwards, he became more of a murderer. Perhaps this was because he had finally bested his greatest rival and closest friend. By the way, L's theme rocks!

if dead note was real it would be really scary because in most films/animes you know who is on the good side and bad side but in this anime.. I am with light, some friends of me agree with me but other friends agree with L, we are almost fighting about it :s if the ''death note'' really existed, the world would change dramatically, I want death note to exit, but I also don't. it's really freaky.. and scary.. and awesome... wow. Death Note, can't describe it..

Lots of people say they didn't like the ending but I thought it was pretty good. *SPOILER* Kira (Light) thought that he had tricked N and everyone else but then everything backfired on him. Though I hated to see Light die, I thought it was pretty good.

I just finished watching the end of death not and i must say the end was insanely anti-climactic. I think the episodes got bad and confusing after L died, at one point i felt like there where 3 notebooks, it all went downhill.

The music thou is beyond appropriate and it makes me shiver just to hear this beautiful masterpiece. I'm trying to figure out the rythm, i'm thinking 7 followed by a 6 & 3/4 or something. It is confusing but wonderful

I'm going through a Deathnote obsession right now, and I plan to watch the anime again right after I force my brother to watch it. L was the best! It's just not the same after he died... And I hate Near for taking L's place, because to me he was just rubbing in the fact that L was dead and not coming back... *cries* L was too cool to die!

Kıra was the best. The challange between L and Kıra was awesome. After L was dead the story kind of lost its path. But that doesn't change that Light was more clever than him.

The main problem with the series after L died was threefold:

1) L's character was already very endearing and well developed/established with audiences. Near/Mello simply were not given a three dimensional character structure. They felt more like cardboard cutouts than actual people.

2) The interplay of Mello and Near could have been a massive point of interest and development, but it just felt rushed and underdeveloped.

3) The "cat and mouse" element had become very minor, which everyone like

@spehizle The Death Note demonstrates a person's nature when they have enormous power over the lives of others. Some people choose to abuse their power and some choose not to. It's interesting to me that Soichiro joined an organization which abuses it's power and influence, and acted relieved when he "found out" Light wasn't Kira. His son chose a different way to gain incredible power over the lives of other humans, but still an immoral one. Maybe he didn't want his son to end up like him.
