I didn't think Oscar could beat Manny. Manny had all the qualifications to beat somebody like Oscar, and I knew Oscar didn't have it anymore. I think Floyd can beat Manny, because of his speed, power, combinations, and agility. If Manny could have a hard time against Marquez and Morales, then what could Mayweather do?? And I'm only assuming that Mayweather can still pull the trigger. Maybe the lay-off will have a negative effect on his boxing skills.

Whoa, Mayweather NEVER turned down a fight with Cotto. There was never an offer on the table for them to get in the ring. But him ducking Margarito is a legit claim....Margo offered him $8 mil to fight. But let me say this, why should Mayweather have fought Margarito when he was offered fights to make much more than $8 mil, while gaining more fame than a Margo fight would have brung to him???

I guess I was watching a different fight, because in the fight I saw, I saw de la Hoya miss almost all the punches he threw while gassing himself out while Floyd was landing 50%+ of his punches (and landing more total punches than DLH) and he looked like he could've gone at that pace until the end of time. If it went 15, Floyd would've KO'd DLH. End of story.

So what do you say when one fighter lands more punches, while throwing less punches, and looked fresher at the end of the fight because he wasnt tired trying to hit the other fighter. No superstar boxer is afraid to fight another. They didnt come 2 that status by being afraid of competition. Boxing is as much of a mind game as it is physical. And someone would not be able 2 maintain there position at the top of a sport by being afraid 2 fight another fighter. It doesnt happen. If you have ever seen calzaghe - against Brewer, Mitchell, Eubank, Woodall e.t.c he has put all of them on the deck and Ko'd alot of them. The Lacy fight wasn't a KO - yet it was the best boxing performance by any boxer for decades he gave a boxing lesson to the entire world - especially America who never appreciated Calzaghe soon enough. There will never be another boxer like him in style, the bloke is unique, quick, agile and throws thousands of punches. Btw he is undefeated and from WALES.

Now, compare Oscar game plan in this fight and d one with Ike Quartey of Ghana. See any difference? Mayweather being compared to legends. No way, legends were not afraid to make boxing matches great by actually facing opponents. Runweather is highly overrated. Can't compare Runweather to Chavez, Gatti, De La Hoya, Sugar Ray, Marquez, etc. These were warriors not runners. We all must remember that the Legendary Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson (and Tyson too) didn't end their carreers unbeaten. Pretty Boy always look fresh after fights as if he just nipped in to his barber or just been shagged all night long by Miss World. The boy is that GOOD. How can somebody that's running throughout the fight have signs of a battle. If one looks at the soles of his shoes they must show signs of wear from all the running he does around the ring to avoid punching. I don't understand how judges could have given Runweather a victory over De La Hoya. In the past, the boxer that didn't present a fight, like Runweather, would not be awarded any points. Counterpunching is part of boxing, but a champ has to want a victory, not win only by defensive running.

That super-fight and the one between The Great Julio Chavez and Meldric Taylor was the only boxing match that brought tears to my eyes because both fighters fought their guts out in a clean way and the line between a Winner and Loser was mere seconds in the final rounds. You have to give to the Mexicans because they always come to fight - Raw as red meat. Same as the Ghanaian boxers, esp feather weight boxers.

Mayweather is in the ending of his prime and De la Hoya is a good 5 years outta his prime, and for Oscar to lose only by a SD says alot about him.
