  • you did really well! its hard to control a fireball like that, so great job!

  • loving the background song. MCR ARMY<3

  • you're a really good jumper and your horse is beautiful (: keep riding and never stop

  • wow, your position is brilliant :)

    well done :D

    really nice horse aswell

  • Nice canter!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • she has improved so much now . everyone has to start somewhere, it's a progess. it's jade from cstone btw :)

  • @horsey1014 lol thanks Jade! Yeah this was one of our first shows together, and that was the barn we bought him from. He was SUUUUPER excited XD

  • You looked really good on your horse,

  • you should really get off his back more, your knind of heavy and by the way you should really try to slow him down! geeze

  • was a flashy horse :)

  • 3:14 is a realy good pictures!!

your a good rider and your horse i really nice!!!

  • omg slow that horse down and take control. if u don't, ur going to get hurt. pretty good spots tho thank god and he started to slow down at the end of the vid. u got some stuff to work on... whew! go ahead and leave me more comments if u need any advice or help

  • We've worked on Dressage. he used to be an eventer, and this was when I didn't really understand complicated courses too well, so he just burned off some energy. His mouth is a lot softer now. I'm working on stuff- this is a year old. I have a trainer to give me advice, so no thanks for the help. my old trainer sucked at teaching jumping, so thats why my position is crap here. I'll try to find someone who's got vid from the foxhunt- jumping's much better now.

  • U need 2 point D:

  • it's there. look harder. Does my horse look unhappy? Nope.

  • love this vid but where is your 2 point

  • it's there, just small.

  • weres ur 2 point

  • it's there. just cuz I'm not flaunting my butt doesn't mean I'm not getting off of his back.

  • gdgd keep going lol ur mint

  • thanks!!!

  • This is awesome!!!!

You make it look SO easy! :D

    Keep it up :)

  • lol thanks! We've recently started Foxhunting, too (omg so much FUN!!!) and we're working our butts off with reworking our positioning. thanks for your compliment!!!

  • Don't you love how some people find it necessary to critique regardless of whether you asked for one? Haha.

    He's very cute =].

  • lol yeah

    thanks :)

  • howd u make this video?

  • I have Windows Movie Maker on my computer. I transfer digital video clips of myself ridign from the computer to teh video program, I do the same with the music, and then it's just a matter of clicking and dragging the clips where I want them :)

  • oh. I have windows movie maker too. But i want to get video clips of movies and stuff, but idk how.

  • I use a digital video camera, then transfer the data from my camera straight to the computer. Then when you're using WMM, go to the file bar, click "import into collections" and find the videos you transferred. Its easy once you know where to look :)

  • lollllll in the background of the pic at 1:57, i see the maccas sign xD great riding and gorgeous horse btw :P

  • haha thank you! Oh yeah I love mc Donalds haha

  • your horse is absolutely fabulous :-D

u must be so proud of him

    i hope u won :-

  • awh thanks!!!

We win a lot of blue ribbons now, and we've won 7 blues at 2 shows in a row and have gotten reserved jr hunter 2 times and open hunter champ twice as well! He works so hard for me :) And ppl have NO idea how good he makes me look haha

  • Very Nice. Well Done. I lease a horse names Cadbury... although, he is a fourteen hand pony we jump two foot classes, sometimes three at the barn. Also, we do eventing, (dressage, show jumping, and cross country...) I am thinking you are a hunter jumper??? sorry, I am a Pony Club member, and what you think is good position over the jump, and what I think, are probably way different. So I won't say anything more.

Keep riding! I would love to see more vids!

    bye! :)

  • lol Cadbury is a cute name.

and proper position over the jump isn't what I'm doing here, but i am getting off his back and not pulling on his mouth. Proper position is what I'm trying to relearn after finding out that my previous trainer didn't know crap about jumping.

  • please work on your leg...i understand things happen..i break and train horses....other wise just give him his head over the jump and u will be great!

i personally hate mcr b/c of bad expierance w/ someone who loved them...

  • we've gotten better and we are a much much better team this year!

That sux that someone ruined mcr for you :(

  • sorry i put that comment it was put on by mistake and on wrong vid!! SOZ!

your riding is great you look great on that horse of yours!!

    lol

  • s'ok haha

I've done that a lot, too, and ppl have gotten really ticked at me lol

  • You need to get into your posture more! you are only leaning forward a little bit!

  • ok.. If I lean forward, how fast do you think an already-stressed, high-strung TB is gonna go? We would've jumped the arena fence adn galloped off if I'd lost contact with his mouth. Have you ever tried tug-o-war with a horse after losing control? not fun. That's why I keep contact with my seat and my reins. Its not hurting him, he's not complaining about it and he never acted like he was unhappy.

and btw, this was a year ago. Doncha think I've worked on this stuff?

  • u r really good well done love your horse

  • thanks :)

  • you need to stop rocking in that saddle keep that lower leg still and dont lean forward so much before the jump

ure lower leg is tooooooo far back ure horse looks very stiff with the lower leg movement in the warm up dont get all stressy wit me either its just some advice so that ure not a crap rider .

  • My lower leg was trying to encourage him to bend, and the whole point of the warm up is to get Aki's legs stretched out- he's supposed to be a bit stiff, otherwise I wouldnt' need ot warm up. My lower leg is exactly where it should be for my proper posture; too far forward and I'd have no control and no form.

  • you could be better put your reans more forward on his neck when you go over a jump horses need to extend there neck when he jumps and your not letting him and get in a bigger 2-point even though they are low jumps you still want to get up more in the saddle. it is ALOT easer to the horse and he will thank you a whole lot

  • thank you for trying to help, but this was a whole year ago. You don't know how I ride now, and I'm happy to say that with dressage work his corners are much better and our jumping is great.

  • hi my name is michelle im not trying to be anoying but in your video your horse is just like mine. he is a throbred lol idk how to spell but my horse does his corrners like yours did he like turns his body without turning his head kinda thing. well you jumped like i used to and to get better at the whole jummping thing NOT that your bad but

  • Aki and I have worked on our corners with dressage training. thx anyway.

  • Nice job! Cute horse

  • thanks :)

  • I really like your horse=] his/her canter looks really smooth

  • thanks. Actually, his canter is what made me fall in love with him. Even though he has really skinny, out of shape, and had a stupid-looking giraffe neck, i felt like I was riding a warhorse or charger or something awesome like that haha!

  • I see absolutely nothing wrong with this, and the horse is BEAUTIFUL. Looks like he's nice and collected. It's like "I'm so pretty, look at me!"

  • lol thanks so much!

  • cute video :)

    glad you're having fun.

    x

  • thanks :)

  • Can't you read? She clearly said she DOESN't want your criticism.

  • Yell at me but I dont care. YOU NEED TO GO INTO 2 POINT AND ALSO REALESE MORE! YOUR KILLING YOUR HORSE!

  • and i'm sure you would be the expert, would you? You don't know my horse. He and I work wonderfully together, and I am most definetly not killing him. You are making yourself look like a complete moron. just go away and save yourself the humiliation.

  • sry but im gunna have to go with eventer4life01. u arent that bad of a rider at all and i am def not tryin to start anythin but i train jumpin and i also event alot, so here r just some tips.u do need 2 get in ur 2 point a lil' sooner cuz ur getin a lil' left behind and that is makin u pull on the reins as ur landin and that is goin 2 teach ur horse after awhile 2 think o i am jumpin but i am gettin tugged on the reins as i land so i should either refuse the jump or stop just as soon as i land

  • apparently you have no clue what you are talking about with my horse. You don't know him and you don't know me. Seriously, the quality of this video is crap. It is definetly not good enough for anyone to randomly presume that they actually KNOW whats going on. So you have no authority to critique me.

  • ok your an idiot she said clearly in her description no critiques nad yet you give advice any wayz and you have no clue what your talking bout

  • cute!

  • thanks!

  • Don't you just love how people are auotmatically "horse trainers"? Isn't that funny? *makes sarcastic noise* ^^)

  • lol

  • wow hes so beautiful And i have a question I have a gelding thoroughbred and how do you get him so calm or did he come like that!

  • lol calm?!?! haha he was chomping at the bit sooo much! But he's 14 and he's seen it all and done it all several times, so nothing really phases him anymore. He's got speed, but he loves jumping... soooo if you were talking about being calm aroudn the course its because thats what he loves doing. You will never see any pics of him jumping with his ears pinned lol :)

  • Very cute horse. Try to get in 2 point a bit more. I know your probably better now though

  • yeah... we've worked a lot. Thanks for the compliment!

  • I thought u were really great. :)

i dont have room for any critiques cuz. i cant even jump yet. :(

    do u have any tips?

  • lol find a trainer you trust and work on jumping with them. Its easiest to start out by coming at the jump in 2 point and staying in 2 point as you come away from teh jump, too. then you don't have to worry about pounding your horses back. and if you can't 2 point at the trot easily, work on that before jumping. That's all I can really say... lol

and thanks for the compliment :)

  • nice show jacket... lmfao

and im diggin the wrong lead in the beginning.

    and learn how to bend

  • I do know how to bend. Did you perhaps miss the part where I explained this video is from a year ago and I've got my own trainer and don't need critiques? If you did miss it, please learn to read. Thanks.

  • Can you like halfseat, it hurts him when you don't get off hs back when your jumping!!!!!!grrrrrrrr!! i'm just trying to help you and just so you know aki is ugly! such a skinny neck!

  • ...you are truly an idiot.

  • hes adorable and you dont even know him!!!

  • Can you like, shut up! And he is pretty, you're the ugly one!

  • horsesandponys427 and EightBellesgirl, thanks for your support :)

    lliilliiaann2231 is obviously blind haha.

  • Well done you went clear fab (Y) and epix song may i say MCR (L) seen them twice.. what ur fave song?

    xx

  • not sure. I mean, Teenagers is a great song, but I love a lot of their other songs, too. U?

  • Probs .. um

    kill all your friends :)

    x

  • lol

  • wow you did really nice riding i have a question with the leads i always start off on the wrong lead then have to do a flying change

  • Thanks for the compliment. I always start off on the correct lead because I also do dressage with Aki, and you have to be able to get it right the first time. Also, Aki has a problem with his flying changes that recently cropped up... he'll do them sometimes but last time we tried he didn't flip in the hind and ended up stepping on his own hoof and ripping a shoe off. I think its safer to start correct and stay correct.

  • WOW!!

I'm looking for a green showjacket EXACTLY like yours!!!

    Were did you get it?

    ROFL

Aki is beautifull by the way. :]

I commented this before, but I came back :]

You two are such a team!

    You ride him great :]

  • haha my old trainer was selling them. I got it for 25 bucks so it was amazing!! adn it's not hot or anything :) but I'm outgrowing it.... I've popped the top button off a couple times (my chest is too beastly for it haha)

    thanks for the compliment^_^

  • OUCH!!!!!!!!! r u ok that looks like it really hurts! well i guess practice makes perfect!

  • yeah... i'm fine... The only part of me that was sore were my arms cuz i was dumb and tried playing tug-o-war with a HORSE lol.

  • Hey everyone... I was really planning on making several movies... adn though I have the pictures and music, my computer put them somewhere adn I don't know where to find them. and our mouse is acting up and freezing and stuff... adn it's getting really slow with the internet. I'm really sorry because I've been promising to make movies and such and our WMM is now so slow that it takes about an hour to save a file...

  • You two are a really good pair together! When you ride it looks like you flow! Great video.

  • thanks!

  • GREAT RIDING!!!!!!!!!

  • thank you!

  • Aki is beautiful!

  • haha thanks! I'll let him know he's loved^_^

  • omg i luvvvvv ur horsey!!!! hes such a nice mover and jumper, and ur such a good rider! u guys are such a nice pair!

  • thanks!! ^_^

  • lol cute!!

  • hi i have a question about showing: can i use a cloth girth with the white cotton lining or do i have to use a leather girth? thnks

  • it depends what you are doing, what classes are you doing?

  • there's a restriction on girth types? I didn't know that. I show locally, so the rules are very leniant. If you are showing at a local horse club, I would check the club's rules. if there's none, then you could probably use whatever makes your horse happier.

  • it depends, in jumpers it doesnt matter, but in like hunter and stuff i think that if its white, brown or black its okay. Its just because there judging your horse, you, and apperance.

  • well, I don't use the fleece ones anyway because they get dirty very easily, and I would only use a black one with a black saddle. My saddle is brown and my horse is brown, so my brown girth is discreet and matches everything else.

  • yeah i hate the cloth ones to. mine is leather, its brown and my saddle is brown. and my horse is light bay

  • im doing lotsa random stuff, hunter/jumpers, novice, limit, pre childrens and childrens sometimes...local shows, nothing highly rated

  • okay what type of girth do u have now?

  • i have a fleece one but i take vary good care of it so it stays clean. i do very local lenient shows so i think they would accept it...and if they don't accept it WHATEVER because i just went to a show with it yesterday ad they didnt say anything about it. thanks for the help!

  • i have used a fleece girth in all my hunter classes and in the jumper ring now but i have a leather one that way the saddle doesnt slide.

***in the jumpers neoprene or leather is preferred.. trust me i have had my saddle slide onto the side of my horse in the middle of a course of jumpers over a jump. NOT FUNN!!!! but the leather of fleece looks classy in the hunters i prefer fleece though.

  • oh wow that's gotta suck! Yeah, I just don't really like the fleece... not sure why, but I have a leather one that works just fine. I'm really not sure if it's a requirement for the class as it is a preference of the judge. I show where they really don't look at ur girth anyway, though, so I don't have much experience in the area.

  • great video!!!preety horse!!!watch some of my videos!!

  • Thanks^_^

I watched your videos. Your horse is pretty!!! Great job riding, and have fun this year^_^

  • thanks!!

  • ohmygod !

you guys are so cute together !

i ride my horse summer :)

lol which im guessing you can tell by my username and my video :P

  • thanks!! Your horse is gorgeous!! Lots of blueing shampoo, I'm guessing haha. Great job at your show, your vid was an excellent round!!! Good luck this show season!

  • thanks !

    you too :) + lol :P

i can't show her in the next show,

but i plan too in the one after that :)

  • ooh good luck!!!!! get video lol^_^

  • ok, i do think u should alow advice!!!Ur really good!!!!!!!!!!!but everyone needs advice!!!

  • thanks for the complimnet. I am getting advice, I would just rather hear things one time from a trainer I know and trust rather than a thousand times over from faceless people who are often rude. That is why I said no advice- I've heard it all. I should make a list, and if someone says something not on the list then they win a prize. ...naw. it'd be too long a list.

  • Good point, srry i didnt think of that!!!

  • lol its fine. I don't get as angry with the people who are nice about it, but when its something trivial, like "your heels could be down a 1/2 inch lower" then it gets pretty annoying lol.

    ^_^

  • content much? god he is really fast and pretty but you dont have to say he is like perfect

  • well, I only say he's perfect because he is to me. You don't have to agree with me, but yeah, he's fast, beautiful, gorgeous, perfect, and yeah, I'm way more than content.

  • I honestly agree with Allie, just stop it.

  • Congragulations!!! You and your horse did excelant :) Well ridden

  • thank you!

  • aww love your horse

  • lol thanks^_^

  • Ummm... idk how high... prolly about 2 foot or somesuch height. He makes 2 foot 9 look like a bunny hop. I've been riding since I was less than a year old, riding competetively since I was 5, and riding english since three years ago. Jumpin since 2 1/2 years ago. This was taped last year.

  • wow..ur horse is one of a kind..i luv him! lol...nice riding!

  • well done - u got a really nice horse :)

  • lol I love him to death ^.^

  • damn.

    your a good rider. :]

  • lol thank you^_^

  • haha your horse has a very cute jump =]

  • thanks!

  • i ride a spinky horse too i think its fun

  • lol yeah. Better hot than lazy ^_^

  • exactly!

  • Anouncement:

I'm leaving for camp and wont be back for at least a week. I've just made a video from the first show of the season last month but it's very short and I can't upload cuz the comp is sucky. I'm making more when I get back, and i just had another show last weekend. It went horribly but we still aced the hunter hack, so we're supposedly beastly jumpers... I'll put more vids up as soon as I can.

  • Your jumping is a tiny bit scracthy but a million times better than I can do!

  • lol yeah my jumping is iffy in this vid... lol give urself credit!

  • Why can't people stop being rude about other peoples riding, some riders are still learning and if there not im pretty sure they know what they are doing wrong. And im pretty sure the people who point crap out well you know your riding is even worse. But I like the song and video, Your Horse is beautiful.

  • thanks. I do know what I'm doing wrong, but if ppl want to ammuse themselves by pointing out the obvious they will get their heads bitten off. Thanks for the compliment^_^ I'll be sure to let Aki know he's admired lol!

  • so we need an updated video to see how muuuchhh better you have gotten

  • I'm working on it. I've been really busy and my comp crashed twice. Mom kept like 900 pictures on her camera until the comp was fixed; she just transferred them today. I'll have a new video up sometime in July, but on Sunday I'm leaving for riding camp and I won't hav internet access. You'll have to be patient lol.

  • I can assure you we've gotten way better though. I've won about 12 firsts all told from the 4 shows I've entered, and I've gotten reserved jr hunter champion and open hunter champion. Our show yesterday didn't go to well, but the judge wasn't placing non arabs above third unless there were no arabs in the class. The stable owner only put on the show to get points for nationals, so i think the judge was talked to. idk. but I promise there'll be more vids.

  • wow that was really good you had some really nice flying lead changes over the fences he's a really cute horse i hope that me and my horse foxy look that good at our first recognized show this year!

  • thanks! I'm sure you'll do great^_^ good luck!!!!!

  • p.s. I LOVE HORSES

  • you are a awesome rider!!! and this is my brothers acount so it's a girl that writing. Also I LOVE THE SONG DEAD!!!

  • thanks! I love Dead, too!!! It was so fast-paced and fun sounding that I had to use it. GO HORSELOVERS!!!!!

  • yr doing half seat rong

  • yeah, and YOU are leaving wasted advice on an old video. And fyi my half seat is fine, thanks.

  • cute horse [[= and it looks like u did a great job [=

  • thanks^_^

we were pretty good, but we've gotten better lol!

  • oh and one more thing, your horse is so pretty!

  • why do people feel the need to disrespect and insult other riders just to make themselves feel better? it just makes no sense and shows how much time people have to waste on the internet. iv been riding for about 9 years now and even if i thought i might be better than someone else, is my opinion of them REALLY going to make them say "hey, that random person i dont know doesnt like me. i must change to fit their standards right away!" no, it doesnt work that way.

  • lol I totally agree! friendly comments are welcomed, friendly advice is ok althoug this video is majorly old, but just plain insults are stupid. and thanks for the comments!!!

ps: food for thought- mean comments make nobody listen. Kindness from a stranger can bring a person to tears sometimes. Which has more influence?? *heavy sarcasm -->* well, i don't know!!! How can you tell?!

  • congrats, thats exciting! :]

  • thank you!

  • You look awesome! It looked very effortless, and he looks like he has a very comfortable canter!

  • he does have a beastly canter. that was how I fell in love with him. He was just such a willing mover, and his canter is really up into itself. ^_^ thanks!

  • Thank you!! ^_^

  • i just saw your pictures..You and Aki Look Great!!!

  • thanks^_^ He was a total sexy beast! we won reserved jr champion, open hunter champion, 5 firsts, 3 seconds, 2 thirds, and 1 fourth!!!!!

I would highly recommend showing at Cornerstone. They're so nice up there, and everyone's a friendly cometitor, so there's no hatred outside the rings.

  • you look really good!

    pretty horsie. =]]]]

  • thanks ^_^

if you go to mcwhirterphotography(dot)com, there are more recent pictures up of my latest show. Click on Equestrian and then 2008 events. It'll drop down with all the recent shows, and click on Cornerstone. I was in classes 7, 8, 10, 11, 17,18,19,20,21,22, and 23. I'm the one on the bay horse, and I'm the only one wearing a green show jacket.

  • Beautiful Horse, Great riding!!

  • thanks ^_^

  • thanks!

  • wat a beautiful horse! hes stunning! lovely jumps!!!! he jumps nice a smoothly to! good job!
