I love my honda jazz. As a small car, it gives so much space and comfort, and it looks great. The whole cylinder is enough for 2 weeks continuous commuting to school. Extremely efficient.

Annoying choppy ride, you really feel every thing. The alarm offers no real protection. And it's expensive compared to other models. I had a 2008 fit sport and I traded it in for a Mazda 3. Believe it or not the suspension on the Mazda 3 is much better. I heard the 2009 has the same choppy ride. If your young or more importantly if you have a healthy back this is a great vehicle to have. But if your back is shot don't even try it.
2 hours ago I went to see a 2009 honda fit, blue "very nice". This hatchback is beautiful. If the ride is better I might go for it. Mazda's are decent vehicles. I see it this way, if you can afford a honda civic your in good shape. But to buy an over priced toyota I'd rather go for a Mazda 3. Anyway's believe or not I'm going in with both my Mazda 5 and Mazda 3 and if the ride is not choppy I'm trading them both in for two fit (blue & Red). Save gas and have fun, I know their spacious.
Just so fun you American say it is a small car... here in Brazil it is mid range. And it costs today US$35k !!! I have a CRV which is, for our standards, just ENORMOUS. Anyway what I love about Honda and Toyota is reliability. It is a WYSIWYG car.
This is one of the few compacts I really like. Although, it's a shame that they had to lengthen the front end for safety concerns here in the US...IMO the shorter front end on the Japanese and European Fit / Jazz looks so much better.
This is a great little car. Even though it's a sub-compact, the Sport model still is a fun drive and the '09 model looks less boxy than it's predecessor.
I feel quite sorry for the people of the US, they have virtually no choice when it comes to economy. For example there is a list as long as my arm of vehicles sold in Europe that do 60+ MPG in normal driving, none of which are silly hybrids. A Peugeot recently achieved 126 MPG in an economy test over 3700 miles! And this car only had a 1.6 litre diesel engine, not a hybrid! In US MPG this still works out at around 100 MPG. My best was 82 MPG in my old Fiat Panda

well diesel is a denser fuel which increases the combined mpg. also all diesel engines burns the fuel at a higher temperature giving a more complete combustion process, which makes them more expensive but also more effecient.
cars in america are usually heavier which is why they have lower mpg + petroleum is cheaper and more readily available at US stations which is why americans settle for less effeciency (the cost of the diesel will not offset the inconvenience and price tag difference).
itsTiLER: In some part of Europe(Primarily the United Kingdom) they use different gallon measurements(Imperial Gallons). A car that gets 45-50MPG in the UK gets 35-40MPG or so in the US.
A greater reason for the difference is that more efficient diesel engines with higher MPG ratings simply aren't available in the US. The only diesel cars you can buy in the states are VW's and a couple of Mercedes models. A few more will come in the future, but for now options are very limited.
I test drove the sport model with the 5 speed the other day, and I was seriously blown away. The transmission was like butter, and the nav system was amazing. As soon as I save up some green, I'm getting my Fit!!

it's a pretty good car but you have to rev it pretty hard if you want it to get somewhere in a hurry. However, it's pretty roomy inside and very versatile. The engine sadly is kind of overworked, you have to get it quite angry to really move, but it's ok, at least it makes a nice noise. Overall, though, it's good, and it has lots of nice little touches you wouldn't expect on a car this size.

Yeah, I drove one of those Fits. Nice little car, but definitely underpowered. The 1.5 liter engine can barely hit 70 miles per hour...good luck merging on the highway, or even maintaining highway speed. Try out the Scion Xd, with the 1.8, the Scion Xd is actually a fast car, with a Corolla drive train. The Fit is a nice high school girlie car, and reliable, but very cutsie and underpowered. Honda built this car for 17 year old girls!
No way is it underpowered. If you use the sports function it has a very good kick. But its not designed to be a sports car anyway. The civic or VW Golf is better for that.
I guess I just got lucky with the Taurus and 2 different Ford Escorts when I put almost 200,000 miles on each of them before replacing them with newer cars. I think the Aveo and G3 are made in Korea with Korean parts/design, but sold as a Chevy and Pontiac here in the U.S.
@colderbeer yeah but how much money did you spend keeping those Fords running? You have to factor in total cost of ownership compared to how long they run. I traded a 2002 Civic LX with 131000 miles that only had basic maintenance, a idle bar, battery, and alternator replacement in 8 years of service. I traded it in for $4000 just because I was tired of it and the Fit Sport was just so nice. Honestly what all went bad with your Fords? I had a 93 Pontiac Grand AM and it was garbage, unreliable.

Why deny it, The Fit is Reliable, Economical, Great handling on the road, can be used for cargo or passengers due to unique folding rear seats, find a parking spot is easier, I could on and on. Face it, it's an excellent form of inginuity. also, it's made by Honda. One of the most dependable, and longer lasting vehicles ever created. This vehicle is an excellent choice for people who do not want to be stuck on the road and who do not want to pay $40 - $80 just to fill up their tank.

The fuel consumption of the fit isn't bad.
I mean, you could get around 400 kms per tank, around $70 on gas (depending where you are).
Also, the gas will likely last you...2-2.5 weeks (depending on how much you drive)

Yeah, I drove one of those Fits. Nice little car, but definitely underpowered. The 1.5 liter engine can barely hit 70 miles per hour...good luck merging on the highway, or even maintaining highway speed. Try out the Scion Xd, with the 1.8, the Scion Xd is actually a fast car, with a Corolla drive train. The Fit is a nice high school girlie car, and reliable, but very cutsie and underpowered. Honda built this car for 17 year old girls!

No way is it underpowered. If you use the sports function it has a very good kick. But its not designed to be a sports car anyway. The civic or VW Golf is better for that.

american vehicles will simply not last as long. they hit 100,000 miles then break down. where as honda's and toyota's keep going.

I guess I just got lucky with the Taurus and 2 different Ford Escorts when I put almost 200,000 miles on each of them before replacing them with newer cars. I think the Aveo and G3 are made in Korea with Korean parts/design, but sold as a Chevy and Pontiac here in the U.S.

@colderbeer yeah but how much money did you spend keeping those Fords running? You have to factor in total cost of ownership compared to how long they run. I traded a 2002 Civic LX with 131000 miles that only had basic maintenance, a idle bar, battery, and alternator replacement in 8 years of service. I traded it in for $4000 just because I was tired of it and the Fit Sport was just so nice. Honestly what all went bad with your Fords? I had a 93 Pontiac Grand AM and it was garbage, unreliable.

Why deny it, The Fit is Reliable, Economical, Great handling on the road, can be used for cargo or passengers due to unique folding rear seats, find a parking spot is easier, I could on and on. Face it, it's an excellent form of inginuity. also, it's made by Honda. One of the most dependable, and longer lasting vehicles ever created. This vehicle is an excellent choice for people who do not want to be stuck on the road and who do not want to pay $40 - $80 just to fill up their tank.

This car does everything that anybody could want done. Look at the interior, it could be mistekn for an Acura without the "H" on the steering wheel, very well put together as most Honda products are not to mention the MPG is fantastic. Comparing it to the Versa or Yaris, this is a masterpiece. And that 1.5L DOHC VTEC engine could be fun to play with!!

Im american i dont like musle cars!! Id rather have performance! BMW i owned fun to drive, sunroof pretty much standard, 5sp manual. Great economy and still a blast to cruise! Bmw rear wheel drive most fun but a poor mans HONDA isnt bad either.
