the plow blade needs a spring to flip forward when you hit a bump or an object or a crack in the pavement. otherwise you can damage/break your blade or bend the frame of the tractor, etc..
Great work on that.. very well done bud! I sort of foresee a need for a bit more reinforcement on the rounded edges on top of the strip that's bent behind it though, hopefully this bitch holds up!
@sc0tte1 i full tilt 6th geared this bitch right into the side of a scrap car for an indurance test... no problem. and i reinforced the frame with 1/4" angle iron way back when i got the tractor.
I love this, i like seeing people be creative and smart. this will out last any chinese one you buy at the store and last about 20 years longer easy. Jay i would suggest though that you do rinforce your tractor, like 318Captain said if you go into a snow bank your tractor might just fold in half
Jay I would suggest you run a piece to the back axle. These are lightweight machines and if you run into a snowbank your tractor will literally fold in half.
Great vid. May I suggest that a couple of washers welded to the adjustment rod on both sides of the notch will help prevent the rod from popping out of place when the blade starts bouncing.
nice job that was a good idea
